Start with your friends you've already got on f.b. just make a post and ask them to like it. At least that will be a start.
Another easy thing you can do is start commenting on other related pages using your page.
Then of course be sure you're posting good/steady content on your page so that people can like the post and have it show to their friends.

Start with friends or used paid traffic to get people there.

    Good luck!

I don't think you'll have a problem getting people to like a dance music page and your posts.

If you're looking to promote / market your 'content' look at how other successful do the same in all other areas of promotion.

When you say 'dance music content' do you mean tunes? so are you a musician or a DJ?
Perhaps you could add a link here so I could sample some of your tunes.

What I will do is, I think will my facebook fan page as my own website so I do the same advertising what I do for my own website..writing quality content, get some backlinks all the time and so on

Start with your own friends and family, invite everyone in your friends list and once all the invitation is complete than you can use other marketing method like video marketing, article marketing and facebook ads itself..

whatever you do, if facebook fan page is your business than focus on it completely and until you make it on auto-pilot

Try to hang out in online communities with the same niche as yours then join in on the discussions. You can have your signature point to your Facebook page or better yet have people on those communities check out your page.

What I did to get the ball rolling is I searched on Facebook search for my keywords.

So if your keyword is related to cooking, then go on facebook search and look up cooking, cook, food, etc.

Find the biggest fan pages and write on their wall. Introduce yourself and your website in a friendly manner (not marketing manner).

Hopefully they will like you back. If not, some of their thousands of fans will see your message and check you out.

    -----

Also, by liking the big names, their stuff will start appearing on your news feed.
Make comments, like their posts, etc. Anything to give your ID/page exposure to their already largely established fan base.

Your friends can give you real likes. If you wish to get more you can try to promote your Facebook page to forums with the same niche as your page. You can also try to buy some traffic hoping that some people will give you a like.

Promote it everywhere. On your site, your blog, forum signature, email newsletter... and entice folks to like you on Facebook. Tell them the benefits of doing so.

Publicize your page on your website, Put it in your email signature. Run a competition and ask people to like your page. There are many ideas to create fan base on Face book. And also Like Other fan pages where they deal your product or similar to that product. For example, if you are selling neem oil, then you have to do a search in Facebook about who are all having similar kind of Fan Pages, Like them and comment,at the bottom you can request them to check your facebook page. This way might work. All the best.

Actually have content on the page that will make people freely like it.

    As simple as that, really.

Promote it on related forums, guest post on related sites.

Just drive traffic to it the like it was any other site and if it's a good page - the likes will come.

You are asking about genuine likes to your page, so the answer is simple, Content is king anyways. If the nice is unique and got quality you can get the like slowly and steadily. I will not go for buying likes for the facebook page if i want genuine likes.

The another important thing is put a signature on forums (dance music content forums and community because that is your niche) you will get lot of visitors and genuine likes

In addition to the suggestions you've already received... make sure you keep your fan page active. Post good quality updates (content) to it daily. Current fans that respond to your posts (i.e. likes, comments, etc) will expose your page to their friends, who may then like your page, and the cycle continues.

Yeah, nowadays it's the quality of your content that really counts. Supply your subscribers with a lot of new quality content to keep them coming back for more. Besides making lots of connections for genuine likes on your facebook. You can also try boosting it up quickly by asking for professional help from free lancers that will provide genuine likes for you.

If you're not broke: Facebook Ads will blow a music page up pretty quickly, and if it's good each person who likes through ads will bring in a few friends.

If you're broke: see the replies above this one.

Regardless, you should be shamelessly self-promoting on every music blog, website, etc. that you can. Get some guest posts on blogs in your music niche and draw some traffic that way. Music is one of the easiest niches around.

Set up a google ads and target those people interest that usually it take your ads close to the range that you want to target. In the same time , if you wish to have genuine like , you might get few genuine like then build like a group that fullfill with dace genuine and start recruit new genuine likes.

You can go for the related forum and fan page to pull over those genuine that you wish to target.

    try these simple tips:

    1. look for the same Facebook pages like your own and try to look on their style of posting.
2.Try posting nice photos with catchy images along with your content. People in Facebook usually just scroll down and stop on what they think is a cool photo.
    3. try it also along with your music sample.

What I noticed about Facebook I people click likes on what they thought to be cool even it if is senseless. As long as it look cool and trendy, they will definitely like it.

You know I notice the same thing too. Even my younger sibling admitted me this: He doesn't really finish all of the quotes written or look at a photo very long for him to like it in facebook or any other social networking site. As long as a quote started at a cool tone he likes it quickly and move to the next. Same thing with a photo, if his first impression is that it's cook he likes it and moves to the next.

DO targeted campaign as often as possible.
Setup personal account and be a friends with people that you've targeted. Suggest them to like and notice about your fan page.
Search for place where your targeted audiences are "converge" and get involved

      I'll tell you.

It's because the OP wants "Genuine likes" - Genuine.

The OP's aim is to have customers they can interact with. Not ones that are paid to become fans.

You see that's the issue. You may be able to get people, by paying them, to like your page or become a fan, it doesn't mean they'll ever have any further activity on your page though. Unless of course you paid them again.

I don't see why people like you find it so hard to find a difference between someone who is paid to like something and someone who likes something because it is generally interesting.

If I paid you to go to the OP's dance page and like it, would you go back and buy stuff if you didn't like dance?

If you have a girlfriend, would she be your girlfriend if you paid her to be so?

Do you see where I'm coming from?

The OP wants genuine fans from people interested in dance. Not a bunch of people that have been paid to go there.

It is possible to target your likes using low cost FB ppc (my best yet was 4p per click).

You need to ensure that your page has enough conversion factors so that you make more money than you spend.

I also use free methods to hunt out targetted FANS as well .... much better to have 50 people who are actually interested in what you do than 1000 fans who are not
