Hi,
i am a newbie to Article Marketing.
I have few questions on it.
I have about 10 Unique Articles written by me and what should i do for the best marketing performance and PageRank increase of my Online Shop.

Is is better to submit in EZine and other google article directories
OR
Start free Web2.0 Blogs (blogger, WP etc) and maintain that regularly by posting one article per week for a long time.

1) Which one of it will be better for a long time commitment and increase PageRank ?
2) What will be advantages and disadvantages of doing like that ?

I hope its easy many Warriors to answer my questions.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Tales,

Always publish all your articles on your own site first and have them indexed there, before you submit them anywhere else at all. This is absolutely fundamental to any model of article marketing. Everything else is secondary to that advice.

This post (and the links inside it) probably answer all your starting-out questions, actually: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5068872

No. Not that. Don't build your business on websites you don't own. (You can even own your own without paying anyone anything, if that's an issue).

For all the reasons explained here and here, and so on.

Article marketing has almost nothing to do with page ranks, these days. (Some people say "absolutely nothing" to do with them).

But in any case, don't try to depend on page ranks of sites which you don't own. That builds other people's businesses and sites, not yours.

I think it'll really help you a lot to start here and read slowly and carefully. Click on links and read more.

This information is about 3 years out of date and has almost nothing to do with article marketing at all.

Misguided attempts to use article directories for their own backlinks are no longer part of "article marketing". That was a feature of "article directory marketing".

It's exactly what all the people who start off all the threads called "Article Marketing Is Dead" have been trying to do. :p

It was dead for at least a year before Google's 2011 series of "Panda updates" destroyed the SEO of the article directories. Even in 2009/10, the authors of all the standard, recognized SEO textbooks were explaining why you'd typically need something between 50,000 and 100,000 of those backlinks to give you the same linkjuice as one backlink from a relevant authority site would give you. That's become more so, not less so, since then. Your "information" is really, really, really out of date.

This thread will help you: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5068872

Don't try to use article directories for their own backlinks
      .

That's not what they're there for, and it's not a function they can fulfil.

It's actually not what they've ever been there for. That approach was actually always based on a huge misunderstanding (though, admittedly, at one time, by all accounts, it was of some short-term SEO value to do that - but certainly not now!).

      It doesn't work.

The article directory copies of your articles are submitted for potential publishers to find, not for potential customers. That's what an article directory is. That's how they work. That's why they exist.

Article marketing isn't "an SEO strategy": it's a way of rising above that and generating highly targeted traffic without being dependent on Google.

Richard, they were merely curating it (or at least the urban legend definition of curating), and adding their own thought and ideas .

  • Submitting in web 2.0 sites will give good result. Try PR submissions too if you can invest some more money. I got good results with PR submissions.
  • Better to build web 2.0 and maintain them regularly rather than submit into ezine.
1.. Surely web 2.0 (wp, blogger) are better for long-time benefits and increasing the pagerank.

    2. You'll need more time and attention to build and maintain that WEB 2.0 regularly to meet the quality that can help your other site(s). However, it;s a long term and valuable investment when get it well done.

It depends on what you're trying to do.

The purpose of submitting to an article directory is to announce to publishers that your articles are available for re-publishing. They can take them and re-publish them, from an article directory. That's what article directories are there for.

You can't use "Web 2.0" sites for that purpose. They're for something totally different.

So you're trying to "compare" two totally different things that have entirely different purposes. (Not to mention totally different submission requirements!).

Increasing whose "page rank"? Yours, or theirs? This has almost nothing to do with article marketing at all.

Even reading this thread, in which you've just posted, will help you quite a bit ...
  • After giving the articles to your site, you can have the content distributed to article directories, press release sites, guest blog, web 2.0 and then start building your link wheel/pyramid link.
  • You can also use social bookmarking sites like StumbleUpon, Digg, and Delicious to distribute your articles. I find it really helps.
  • In my opinion your 10 articles should be posted on your own site. You can link your pages together and provide good content for your readers. Be sure to put a video and or image to make the material interesting to read.

Web 2.0 sites are great for adding back links for your main site, but it takes real commitment to keep them fresh and a lot more than 10 articles.

    Best wishes,
    Carole
  • If you are going to use EZA, I would suggest that you first publish you article on your site rather then posting it first on EZA. I would also encourage you to post a link back to your article page in the resource box in EZA.

With article marketing, I would encourage you to write new one every single week if you can. You should because it is a numbers game in my view. The more the better. You can't just write 10 and that's it. You have to be consistent with your writing in order to make things work out.
  • Hi,

This is a great thread. Alexa is right. Just put the articles on your own blog. I would recommend (if you do not want to worry about manually posting them every few days) using WP (get a domain with your primary keyword in it) and host it yourself.

Most web hosts have Fantastico which is a program on the web host that will install WP for you really quickly without having to load it with an FTP program and then do this manually. Then just schedule the blog posts to run every few days.

Although Web 2.0 is great, you want to use them for links/potential traffic, not your primary site. If it gets taken down (for whatever reason) you lose it, and then you need to write more articles, setup a new blog... its a pain.

If you do want to use EZA for your articles, then I would specialize in your niche and write additional unique articles and submit them. You can then become an "expert" in your niche. People can find you (if you are writing quite a bit of content) in the Top Authors section for each category on Ezine. You can find this yourself by just clicking on an article category on the main page. You'll see them on the right.

If you can be found there, article publishers will be able to find your material much more easily, and then publish your articles, which is the point of using the article directories as mentioned above.

Anyway, good luck to you. You'll have a great foundation to begin using just this thread.
