The Laptop Millionaire

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to pass along a decent book that I'm reading. It's called the Laptop Millionaire by Mark Anastasi. I'm a "newbie" to IM and my only success thus far has been a very successful gig on Fiverr (so successful I'm in the process of writing an eBook).

Though I'm sure all of the content in Mark Anastasi's book is available for free on various sites (and in this forum I'd assume), it's a great one-stop compendium for internet marketers.

I just wanted to pass this on to any other semi-newbies out there looking for a good book to read on vacation.

    I agree - an interesting read. Michael Oksa mentioned the book last week in another post so I picked it up on my Kindle and am about 1/2 through. I've been studying IM for a while so some of this more strategic than hands on - but for 10$ its a great read so far. The only caution I would make to a new person is to beware that things that worked in the past may not work now and what does not work now may start working. Testing is imperative but worse is procrastination. Good luck!

      I did check it out at my local waterstones book store ... Its a very good and informative book, if you havent heard of mark anastasi hes a highly respected marketer in the UK. I read through alot of chapters and he has put together a book that covers a very good foundation to take action on building an online business ... i liked the book and im getting it myself soon, just because there are a few good gold nuggets in the book

          I think Scott Fox's book, Click Millionaires is also meant to be great.

          I've listened to a podcast with him and he seems to know his stuff.

              It was free for me. I got it at my local library.

                I also live in a small town, I could literally read everything on the shelves at my local library in 1-2 months, but they're part of a pretty big network of libraries that includes every San Bernardino and Riverside county library along with a few in L.A. and Orange counties.. so they can get me just about any book I need if I don't mind waiting for it.

        Pretty much every one of his non-IM products looks just like this one. I'd say it seems like he's pretty much abandoned his non-IM stuff, and is focusing on the make-money niche these days.
        I appreciate Mark Anastasi for his explanations about how to use technology and the different marketing channels to reach interested persons.

        That being said, the ebooks he sells related to health are what i call a scam, and not a cheap scam. Basicly what he wrote shows that he has no experience about the health problems and the solutions he explains. Also it is clear that his health related ebooks are a plagiat of the ph miracle by Dr Young.

        I don't know how this guy is not in jail for all the false claims he has made and for the plagiat.
        I don't see how you can be appreciated by your customers and keep a good reputation if you try to scam them by delivering a useless product just to make a sale.
        I think that one has to create and sell a useful, easy to understand, easy to use solution (infoproduct or product) with real experiences or scientific proofs, it is not easy, it takes more research, more tests, more tweaks, but it is doable and the customers appreciate it.
        If all web entrepreneurs try to sell a useless and low quality infoproduct the web will be filled with crap in no time. You can see what this kind of behavior has done to the state of the english web... Do you like it ?

        Just to prove my point :
        I bought a few years ago one of his ebook "Kidney stones Miracle Breakthrough" and there was duplicated paragraphs here and there. Are you serious ? This is so frustrating to pay 47USD for an infoproduct with such a poor editing and poor structure. At least if the concepts and techniques explained in the ebook were useful and efficient, but no, all the content of the book was about the rewording of the concepts of Dr Young without any real experience.
        So you try to sell the moon and you deliver a badly presented, badly structured, badly edited plagiat ? Why not try the other way around ? Try to sell a humble efficient solution and deliver it with more tips and techniques.

        Please note that i don't critic Mark as a person but the content of his ebooks related to health problems, and his way to present his products.

        But concerning his seminars and his message for people to try to create and sell a product on the web, this is inspiring (if the product is usefull and actually helps people to learn or to achieve something) so thank you for this Mark.

    I read it and thought it was a very good introduction to IM. Some of the information is a little dated, though. Still worth reading in my opinion.

    No, it's not free. Silly writers...expecting to be paid for their work.

    Another really good book is Crushing It by Gary Vaynerchuk. This guy sees the big picture in marketing and knows what he's talking about.

    That's a good one, too, Travlinguy. I love the way he used his natural personality to breathe new life into the wine business.

    I'm new to IM and actually bought 3 copies of the Laptop Millionaire - 1 from Audible.com, 1 hard copy, and 1 for my iPad. I have found it to be an excellent book for the price. I try to be an insatiable learner and in his book he links to many free videos from his conferences that are viewable from his site. Of the books I have read recently, I consider the Laptop Millionaire to be a great reference for IM but I may be biased due to my lack of experience in IM (haven't made my first $ yet).

    I saw this book on Amazon and was wondering if it was worth a read or if it's the same ol' rehashed stuff. I've found that actual books on the subject don't normally have anything new to offer. The Internet is the best place, specifically here, to find updated, new and improved stuff on Internet Marketing.

    Michelle,
    It is a great book for beginners because it gives an overview of many ways to make income online. If you're already active in the IM field then you wouldn't find it as beneficial. Some of the information was dated.

    (I still enjoyed reading it. But books are like crack to me.)

    The Laptop Millionaire is what actually got me in to IM. It certainly whets your appetite and covers a lot of strategies and methodology. I use it as a reference now.

          Another study said to make money with Facebook Groups to:

          First, create three Facebook accounts
          Add friends to them and build them up. Do this is by joining other groups in the relevant niche.
          Then add everyone and when there are 200 friends or so in a Facebook profile create a group.
          Then invite all your friends to join your group. Add them all to the three Facebook profiles. A fair number will join each time; then just build your account and do the same again.
          Message all the people in you group-- never just send out a link to an affiliate site or my own website; always send them to you blog. That way you don't get spam complaints. Send them to a specific post and they will usually click through the link in the post, which could be a ClickBank affiliate link or whatever. Just provide valuable information and they will love it.
          Is that basically the way? Is there more?

    I read this book last month and coupled with yaniks moonlighting on the internet is what helped me to finally get serious about IM. I haven't physically done anything yet just going through posts on this forum and getting so much valuable info. Anastasi and silvers books are really informative for the newbie.

    Laptop Millionaire is a great book to get your creative juices flowing, a great reference book to be sure you have thought about your marketing channels from every angle you can.

    Mark Anastasi is also a great marketer, I take a lot of tips from him on his delivery...

    Another fantastic book to read is The Pumpkin Plan. Without going to my bookcase I can't remember the authors name (Now I feel really lazy) but I highly recommend it.

    The Laptop Millionaire is indeed a TERRIFIC book. It is because of Mark Anastasi that I am getting involved in IM in the first place. I never knew this world even existed.
