You want to find targeted traffic. people who are interested in the types of cooking/recipes you are promoting/selling/sharing.

everything revolves around SEO or search engine optimization. you will want to do the following to begin driving leads

    01. Create quality content/articles/blog post using targeted keywords
    02. You want to find 2 marketing methods you can use to drive traffic (blogging and social media is great for newbies - it's free and easy to learn how to do). Once you master those two marketing methods and begin generating steady leads you can expand into more advanced or paid methods.
    03. make sure you have an optin box on your site where you can capture leads. this way you can drive traffic, generate leads and sell them you products on the back end.

There are a ton of ways to drive traffic (twitter, facebook, article marketing, forum marketing, ppc, craigslist, blogging, etc)

Find out where your target audience is online and go get them! The key is to be consistent and market every day.

      You have my words!
In addition, are you targeting only local visitors in your country? Then, you may try the keywords with "cooking recipes for Indian food". It's more targeted.

      Forum marketing could also help:
      1. Find out forums related to your website (e.g. cooking fans, recipe forums, national/regional cooking/recipe forums)
      2. Create a profile with a signature leading to your site.
      3. Post in the forum, providing valuable advice. Always attach your signature. (a few posts/post replies ever day).

Unfortunately, I can't see your page. Did you put the URL right?
Having people visit your website is one thing, and having them come back is another. Do you have a sign-up form on your website to collect your visitors e-mail addresses in autoresponder? You could offer a small gift there, like "Top 10 Easy Indian Recipes" e-book in return for filling in the form. This way you will have the possibility to contact your visitors long after their first visit with updates or promotions if you're going to have paid products on your site, too.

Since your site has to do with culture (I couldnt open it to see if it os written in English..) you can advertise it on travelling sites or promote it on forums about travel.
If it is written in Indian, you can promote it on your area too (with offline methods), and you will get some traffic.

Let me correct your website typo - Here is the right web address - INDIAN RECIPE KING

You've got a wonderful recipe site there. So are you from India ? Anyway...

Here are some things that you can do to drive massive traffic to your blog.

#1. First thing I would do is change your site from a html site to a wordpress blog. You can save lots of time and frustration by following this one step. The benefit is that you don't have to edit your file everytime you want to add a new page. The blog structure works better for a recipe site like yours. You can add tags and categories etc, which can all help boost your traffic and seo.

#2. I see that you are already having a facebook fanpage with over 200 likes. Keep up the good work, everytime you have a new recipe, post it on to your fanpage with the snap shot of the food, which is sure to attract more traffic.

#3. Find forums on food and recipe and start actively participating. And don't forget to put your link in the signature.

#4. Comment on high authority recipe blogs that uses the commentluv plugin. Benefit: Everytime you post a comment, you get a link back to your website as well as to one of your blog post. Make this a regular strategy

#5. Take the content from your blog posts, create powerpoint slides with images and finally record the slides while narrating the recipe. Post the video to youtube. Don't forget to add your keyword in your title, description and tags.

#6. Save your powerpoint slides as picture, then use those pictures to create a pdf which you can post in pdf sharing sites.

#7. You can also rip the audio from the recipe video you just created in #5, create an mp3 file and submit it to itines and other podcast sites.

Enjoy the traffic. This is the ultimate steps I want to do with my blog content to drive massive amounts of traffic. I got the original idea for the steps #5, #6 & #7 from a content leverage video shared by the Noble Samurai team.

    Hope it helps...

Oh yes, the site is impressive. I would once more suggest to have a sign-up form (and if you convert it into a WP blog, you'll be able to put it in sidebear widget). I would get rid of all the advertising, too. I can understand you are trying to monetize your site, but wouldn't content related widgets from Amazon or even Ebay be better here?
Also signed with my two hands under what Dr. Spencer Jones wrote above.

Um, you could just buy some traffic. All the other posts here are telling you how to do some massive layout of work, when you could just spend a little bit of money, $100 or so, do drive some targeted traffic quickly to your site.

Now don't get your credit card out yet, but do some research on paid traffic, don't go with Adwords but there are a lot of paid traffic networks out there to get you going.

Agreed with komplex. Once these changes have been made you could:

Continue with your Facebook fan page and post pictures of your food/recipes on Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr etc. could help get your site a lot of exposure- consider adding your website domain as a watermark on the bottom of the images.

I would (as suggested) seriously look into creating a Wordpress Blog instead of an HTML site as it will be much more simple for you to manage in the long term and Wordpress blogs are renowned for ranking well in the Search Engines.

Relevant Forum posts and comments on High Authority Blogs (related to the food Industry) can also be a good source of free traffic then maybe once you have monetized the site you can look to reinvest some of the income in outsourcing your SEO.

    1. Target Forums that are within your niche

    2. Look for Blogs that are within your niche and ask the blog owner if you can post fresh and relevant content there in exchange for a link back to your site

Try these 2 for starters and do them consistently until you see traffic coming in.

DO NOT do anything else and become OVERWHELMED by jumping onto more traffic methods until you have mastered these 2.

Hope this helps and good luck to you my friend!!!

Hi indianrecipeking - I think that everyone has covered what to do in the previous posts, but you really need to know where your target audience hang out.

The places where they go online. This may be other recipe blogs or also forums and social groups where they discuss things together.

As people have mentioned earlier, you also have to work on your website and optimise it to suit the people that are visiting so that they get what they need.

    Hope this helps

  • Hey guys,
Here are some tips that will help you with blog traffic:
    1. Guest Posting
    2. Bookmarking Sites
    3. Article Directories
    4. Forum Backlinks
    5. Blog Commenting
    6. Web 2.0
    7. Tier Link Building
    8. YouTube
    9. Twitter, Facebook (Social Networking)
    10. Directory Listing (Google Webmaster Tools)

The ultimate goal is to build your list and take down your reader's email address to send them a weekly or monthly round-up of your blog posts and make them have more confidence in your services.

I recommend trying out each tip one by one until you fully mastered the blog traffic tips and your website will be absolutely KILLER. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I'll be more than happy to help you.

Don't get too disheartened though, blog traffic is never amazing when you just started. It takes time, patience and perseverance to make money online. I believe if you have enough willpower you can do it!

Indian food is one of the trendiest ethnic cuisines around these days, but a lot of the people who might be interested don't know much about it.

When I got to your site, I saw a whole bunch of regions and names that meant nothing to me.

Consider doing some educating on your site. Why would a visitor choose to click on "Punjabi", for example? You might add pages for each region or type of cuisine, explaining what someone might expect of that type of food. The goal of this section would be to raise the comfort level of visitors so that they explore and try your recipes.

Can you guys expand/ explain in detail building on social bookmarking... This is going over my head for some reason. Im not having luck in finding forums that allow one to have a sig or post a link back to their site. Besides that I have writers burnout from massive comment posting for almost 2 years straight. I need other methods to get traffic. I am looking to launch 2-3 more websites so I need to get this nailed down asap. I have the SEO etc in place (go nuts at times with keywords) and have seen an increase in traffic via searches but still what I get in a day other sites with similar content are getting in an hour.

As a matter of fact many times my site will rank higher in a search than the larger well know political sites on identical material.

I'm beyond frustrated in trying to get traffic for my political blog which is really a tool to get ppl to my main website.

Have you ever thought of writing an e-book on Indian Recipes and using it as a giveaway or something that's free for download from your website?

Some of our clients order e-books or reports from for that purpose.

Paid traffic is the way to go though.
Try Microsoft adcenter and banners through Adbrite.
