WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO CLICKBANK?

I remember a time when clickbank seemed to be the hottest thing in IM business nowadays i rarely come across any topics on clickbank, are there people out there still generating a good amount of cash of off clickbank products?

Its still pretty big, not for me personally haven't made a dollar from it in a good few months but I still think people are making big checks on there.

It's no longer the "hottest thing" but that's fine by me. I will take "proven and established" over "trendy and flash in the pan" any day.

In other words, CB is doing just fine.

    All the best,

I second this. I personally like it when talk of things I am personally doing in my own business dies down. Yes, it's true that IM is changing all the time but a lot of it also stays the same.

      Quoted for truth.

Yes. I'd say that if anything, ClickBank and other retailers of digital products will continue to grow in the following years. Relatively recent advents, perhaps most notably the popularity of ebooks with thanks to the highly successful Kindle, are training a more mainstream audience to be receptive to these kinds of products.

Ubiquitous tablet computing is only going to take things further. As more and more people begin consuming digital media from a mobile platform -- rather than being restricted to their stationary computer and desk chair -- the absurdity of purchasing and reading a PDF about cooking, gardening or anything else begins to vaporize.

I couldn't agree more. So many affiliate networks are here today and gone tomorrow. Clickbank has proven that it has staying power.

It got much bigger and much better.

It cleaned up its act to some extent, regarding both FTC-compliance and ethics, and they're still working on that, albeit a little too slowly and gradually for some of us. There've been some visible improvements already.

Not only is it continuing to expand, grow, and pay out huge amounts of money every month to vendors and affiliates alike, but even the rate at which it continues to expand, grow, and pay out huge amounts of money every month to vendors and affiliates alike is itself accelerating, month after month.

It's been established longer than Google, and has now paid out over $2.1 Billion to internet marketers. The number of Warriors making our full-time livings through ClickBank also seems to be growing exponentially.

It's probably not going to disappear or decline, for the moment.

The interface on Clickbank is so much better than it used to be. Searching for products at the marketplace seems to work so much better than it used to.

Just because it's no longer a hot topic doesn't mean it's no longer in business
But personally I only promote 3 products of Clickbank. 90% of products I promoted are from private affiliate networks. I just prefer instant Paypal commission.

So you would prefer private affiliate networks over clickbank, and if so what private affiliate networks outscore CB?

I don't know the amount of money they made, or whether they outscore CB or not. But think stuff like shareasale, commission burner, JVZoo, Digiresults, Paydotcom. JVZoo and Digiresults must be a rising star right now -- they both have vast variety of products in many niches.

Talking about "private" affiliate networks, I usually type niche+affiliate and got some. I've found many of these niche leaders have good quality products but do not use Clickbank.

Clickbank still has a MASSIVE amount of affiliates and vendors, trust me there not going anywhere soon.

They did a major cleanup and a lot of those HUGE product launches aren't being approved anymore because of FTC compliancy's and how clickbank wants to portray it's image. Mostly in the make money online niche. (which is probably why you think it's dying).

However, for example: in the health and fitness niche its BOOMING. New products are being released all the time that are making vendors and affiliates millionaires.

It depends on the criteria by which you choose to assess these things.

There may be networks with faster and more responsive affiliate support and communications.

But in many senses there's nothing anywhere near the same level. As observed above, ClickBank has been around for longer than Google and has paid out over $2.1 Billion to its vendors and affiliates. There are over 15,000 different products, there. All that's not easy to compete with.

That comment is really about the "IM" and "MMO" niches only, Ronnie.

There's clearly not much point in promoting stuff from those niches, as an affiliate, because so many of the potential customers for those products are existing ClickBank affiliates who will obviously buy them through their own links rather than through yours anyway - so you don't often get paid. So those two specific areas are hardly seriously relevant.

More importantly, there are about 398 other niches there, you know, all of which your comment ignores?

Fair point, but the vast majority think MMO when CB's mentioned.

              Marketers do. Customers don't.

Please excuse my "going on about it" but that's the point.

For the reason explained above (among others), promoting in the MMO/IM niches is putting yourself under a huge handicap, and is perhaps in itself the single commonest reason for "people asking about ClickBank" failing to achieve any/much success.

It's much, much easier to make a living in those 398 other niches.

CB is still one of the largest if not the largest digital market place, with regards to I.M niche , unfortunately like anything else it got too polluted with peope trying to make a quick killing . but still lots of quality products ar relasde, ex paul cliffords recent launch, sean donahoe's launch..just watch whom you are promoting and buying that's all.. since th barrier of entry is low , just we need to excercise a little bit of caution

You are right about CB being polluted, most people just want quick cash in their pockets, they advertise their products not to help others with their needs but to put some few dollars in their pockets, and nowadays most customers are aware of that and that's why selling a product of off CB is becoming more complicated than it used to. If they only advertised to help others which in turn will put money in their pockets and also build a trusted relationship with their customers, then IM would have been much more easier for all of us.

Some people got scared off due to tighter rules. CB is a tight ship. People who like to play fast and loose with their offers had to leave the platform and try their pimp game elsewhere. The FTC has been cracking down hard on shady operators.

A lot of people think ClickBank isn't worth the time because they focus on things like IM and Forex. If you avoid those, you'll do much better. Too many IM customers will buy from their own link or take advantage of refunds.

While other affiliate networks may offer instant PayPal commissions, none of them can match the volume of products offered on ClickBank. It is my go-to place for niche products because there are so many options that I know I'll find something that will work for my readers.

Don't believe the hype. You're on the right track.

ClickBank is truly dead. It died a while back and they accidentally left the web server running even though the corporate entity filed for bankruptcy or liquidation or something like that.

As soon as the ClickBank Hamsters (oh - you remember the TV ads with the ClickBank hamsters don't you?) stop running round and round in their hamster wheel the web server will lose it's sole power source and also stop working.

The only viable method for making money online is to sell WSO's about authoring WSO's.

Nobody every made money on ClickBank. It was all just a big lie, like the moon landing.

I still make lots of money on Clickbank. After the penguin updates, my websites have climbed up the rankings and my competitors were lost because I provided quality and they failed to do that.

The only problem with clickbank is you have too much competition, but when you know how to do the keyword research and competition analysis you can get keywords that you can rank for with just social bookmarks (I use onlywire btw).

Clickbank is still alive and on top of their business. They're the best for info digital products and if you dedicate time to get some websites kicking you can make $500 - $600 easily in your first month with just 2 websites.

Clickbank is still huge, I just think it has a bad reputation thanks to all the get rich over night schemes that seem to be on every CB products sales page. I get a nice check from CB but I only promote the products I personally use. I simply make a Youtube video on a "behind the scenes" because my frustration when looking at CB offers is that you never really know what you are buying. Something to think about

A point I think has been overlooked is that Amazon's Kindle took a lot of wind out of CB's sails (and sales). If you notice, CB hasn't just cleaned up its act to be more FTC compliant, but it has altered its format to avoid giving the impression that that all it's marketing is a bunch of ebooks, and are now more "progam" oriented.

My friend was trying to sign up for a Clickbank account the other day and the process was very hard. They are trying to sell you something the whole way through. Even after you log in they are trying to sell you more stuff. I have heard a lot of people use them lately though so It must be pretty good. There are a few videos on youtube of people showing there profits ( I dont know if its real or not) but some people had amounts over $20,000 a month.
