OK, so I need serious help.

I'm going to pay my rent this month -- barely - because back in February, I finally started getting paychecks from Clickbank.

Problem is, what with Clickbank getting messed up lately (Tag search for "clickbank" if you don't know what I'm talking about), I'm seeing just as much traffic as ever to my site, but I'm seeing zero sales for the last two weeks. Previous experience dictates that there should be at least a couple hundred in sales for that time period.

So, I did a couple of WSOs, and I made almost a hundred bucks -- but I need to multiply that by 8 or so in order to pay next month's rent, and everything I've done so far has been through Clickbank (and thus =fail).

I have a vague idea of using the money to pay for a new domain, hosting, and a PPC campaign. I can build a site over the next couple of days, not a problem -- but I need some expert opinions on what to promote. I've signed up at Comission Junction, but I'm having trouble wrapping myself around the structure.

Where should I go to look for (a) new product(s) to promote? And does anyone have any good advice for setting up a PPC campaign that will be profitable fast given a decent review-style landing page?

Thank you!

If you don't know how to use PPC -- chances are good Google will not only take your for your rent money -- but your grocery money as well

How are you promoting the clickbank products that you made the sales on?

Through the site linked to above; it's just a basic review site. I catch some search traffic, and I do some forum and article marketing. I guess my problem is that I know from experience that a $100 investment isn't ever going to get me the traffic I need in time to pay my rent. I have a 6-month-old and a disabled wife, so I'm only able to spend on average 15-20 hours/week 'working'...not really enough to take 'MASSIVE action' like write 300 articles or anything like that.

If you're only making a handful of sales then a sudden stop does not always mean a problem. 3 or 4 sales a week, for example, can become none for a week and it's perfectly reasonable. It was never enough to measure against.

It might not be the case in your example, but lately it seems like too many people are putting bad days down to Clickbank messing up their sales/affiliate links.

  • I don't think there is such thing as a quick "profitable pcc campaign" -- If its your first time using Adwords, the system will definitely eat up your money until you start learning what works and what doesn't in your niche on google.

I think for a quick profit, sign up for CPA Companies ( Hydra, MarketLeverage, etc..) and go and try to promote their email submit offers.... This is a very easy way to make money because all you have to get the end user on your website to do is submit their email address, and you make around $0.8 - $1.5 per email submit....

You have to be creative with your promotional methods to get a quick income out of it.... Your average, promo through google, doesn't do it anymore... I have a guide on this, If I find it, I will hit you up..... But I can't really get into the details of this here... It will take like three pages :p....

If you don't want something like this, look into other faster ways to make money.... Like using AC (associatedcontent) to make a few bucks a day.... They pay by the article. If you can write articles ( or blackhat-- find a article and rewrite it in a totaly dif way).... Then you can make some good money.... Write, or rewrite 10 articles a day and submit it to them and get paid about $2-$6 for each article..... (make sure you pass all your articles through copyscape.com and see if they get flagged, if they do, don't submit it to AC.... and always submit the article with "exclusive rights" so you can get paid more...

    Hope this helped!

Your site seems VERY broad... have you considered narrowing down your review methods to focus on a single specific niche?..

I get much better results when all the reviews are targeted to one very specific niche..

p.s. Spending your rent/food money on PPC when you have never done it before is a bad idea, in my opinion.....

Jay (or anyone else with expertise), would you say the focus issue is important enough for me to start over with FromTheInside, and focus on just 2-3 products competing within a single niche? Or should I keep what I have but focus on just, say, health and fitness products?

      Honestly?..

Yes... I can't say from experience if a site like that will eventually come to fruition, but I do know that any site I ever built, was focused on one single niche. I like building review/comparison sites.. but they have to be extremely targeted to one niche...

Not only for your customer experience, but for the search engines too, it is always better, in my opinion, to have a tightly related group of pages that all cater to the same group of people in one way or another......

Hope this helps a little.. feel free to drop me a PM with any ideas you have or to take a look at any changes you make...

      Peace

PPC can and will suck your money if you're inexperienced and have a small budget. Not recommended when you're struggling with rent..

I would offer services as a WSO and in other forums/websites as a way to make quick cash while you are working on a long term plan.

There are a lot of issues here why your not making money. My instinct would tell me that Clickbank may not be the reason. After looking at your site, I would hook up with a mentor, and do a overhaul on what your doing. There are some great people in Warrior and outside of Warrior.

It seems like you've generated some great sales so far, and a sudden stop in sales does not always mean that things are going that badly. Typically three or four sales a week, is always a good frequency but maybe other factors need to be considered such niche popularity, CTR or product popularity. Great thread, and interesting opinions so far!

It looks like the answer to your money problems is listed in your signature or aren't those methods any good? If you're touting those and begging for money they can't be too good.
