Do big "Order Now" buttons convert better than smaller ones?

I read somewhere (I forgot where, though...sorry :rolleyes that bigger order now buttons on salespages convert better than smaller ones.

I would like to know your opinions on this because I am seriously considering resizing my order buttons on my pages based on this information.

    I think it depends on the size of the buttons you're using now. I'm sure there is a optimum size and it is possible to be too big so as to make you site look to 'pushy'. I'd change to larger ones for a week or so just to see how it goes.

    Don't just resize your order buttons because somebody said they increase sales.

    Test it

    That is only way you are going to discover whether bigger order buttons will work on your sales pages.

    Generally speaking, yes. Bigger buttons work better...but you have to test.

    Only in a general way, I'd say a little too big is better than a little too small.

    I've seen sales pages, even with great copy, where I honestly couldn't find the Order Button/link ... so if I am in a hurry, the page gets bookmarked and sometimes I never get back to it ... you certainly don't want that.

    So it should be big enough to be obvious and easily findable even on a smaller screen, but not so big that it's over-done. And also consider text links every so often like: "In a hurry ... Click here to buy now", or "Ready to buy ? ... click here to order"

    But, before you do anything, make sure to document your changes and test the different versions to find what converts best.
