My new site--too many words on front page?

Hi, I have a new site--my first website ever

My concern is that there may be too many words on the first page. I have reduced them considerably, and feel like what I have left is important to communicate to my visitors.

What is your impression when you land on the page? Thank you for any help you can give me. I am new to this but trying to learn.

Tracy

Nooooo, I think you've done it very nicely.

This question always depends on context and traffic demographics - but nobody should really call that "too many words" for a site about writing/content. I can't believe you have any problem over the number of words.

      Thank you, Alexa

I was concerned that there are so many words and too few eye-catching graphics. I would like to put up a super-short welcome video eventually-- just need to buy the camera and get over my fear of actually recording myself on video

Litherland, thank you for your encouraging words about my colors! I like them too. This is all so new to me. Thank you for taking the time to peek at it for me.

I'll leave the words as they are

Looks good to me. You did a really good job for this being your first website. In my opinion you have just enough content to get the job done.

Thank you, Terry. I have read a lot of books about creating websites and copywriting. It's scary to finally just do it and push it out there.

It's something to split-test carefully, if it interests you, certainly.

I must say, it's not what I'd want to do, myself, with your site. And I do think it may possibly lose you some customers, as well as gaining you some. There are so many people who, for such a big variety of different reasons, find video inconvenient and/or otherwise undesirable. "Just saying" ...

Based on what you have said, I will hold off on putting a video on the front page. My objective is to help people feel like they know me, but it just occurred to me that I could put a short welcome video on the About page. That would be a better place for it I think. Thank you again

I like the look and feel of it. The colours make it feel fresh and i dont feel bombarded with lots of text all over the page. Its good!

So far so good but it's more better if you can put the PLR links at the bottom of front page on top menu navigation as a dropdown. Just my suggestions.

That makes sense; they would be able to get to the articles quickly without having to scroll. Thank you for the suggestion

I did keep this in mind when I was designing it. That is one of the reasons that I have the words "PLR" and "PLR Articles" on there so often!

Thank you for taking the time to respond!

I think you have done your site very well Tracy. The only thing i would consider would be some social buttons. This will also boost your exposure and traffic in the long term too....

Other than that - great site layout. And great content too.....!

I was gonna suggest you use social buttons. Are you on Twitter? It seems like the favorite place of PLR sellers. Also, would you consider using a contact form on your contact page?

My first impression is its simple and direct. The contents won't hurt you with regards to SEO. I'm just not voting for the maroon seperators. You've started with blue and gray, try playing around it.

It would also be nice to think about social networking. You could use them to promote your website. I'm wondering why there isn't any social buttons on your site...or maybe I just missed them.
