    Domain and hosting definetly...

Then with what's left over, buy a WSO/product that has plenty testimonials of people actually making money with it.

Then apply what you've learnt and follow-through until you make money with it.

The two biggest problems in IM is information overload and people not taking action or following-through/giving up to early.

Sorry, skim read it and just assumed - it's been a long day... LOL

Anyway, if I was in your position I would probably find a reputable solo ad seller and hopefully get some decent buyers to opt-in to my list.

$50 isn't much, there isn't a whole bunch of advertising you could do with it.

You could save it and wait till you have accumulated a few hundred dollars and then try your hand at PPC.

If you're scared to 'lose' money though, I wouldn't recommend PPC - at one point or another you are bound to lose money.

I agree with Ryan that is $50 will not get you to far with adversting. Since funds are low why don't work on either writing and selling an ebook of something you're knowledgeable of, then you can easily set up on a affiliate network and marketplace. You can then look for affiliates on the net.

Or, another low budget would to be spend time daily blogging quality in demand info, and keeping social in the community of the niche, commenting on blogs building up likes on your FB fan page, and getting involved on other sites where you're niche is being discussed. You can monetize your main site where people will be driven too and you can build a list too.

As you make money, you can then reivest in business, and if you are working with the second model, I would say do some FB ads, but advertise your Fan page, which will build up likes and help provide viral and residual traffic. You can get a better ROI that way as well.

          I hope this helps.

$50 isnt much for advertising. For targeted traffic you would want to look at PPC, probably with Google Adsense or maybe Facebook Ads. It really depends on what you are promoting.

If you arent particularly looking for targeted traffic you could use a cheap traffic service such as "adf.ly".

    Thanks,
    -Michael

With all the free advertising you can get on the net, why bother with paid ads? That said, It really depends on your product or service. If you know what you're doing, $50 of Adwords can get you pretty far.

I actually just posted a case study about Facebook Ads today and over the last two weeks, I ended up with 1 conversion for $50.

I know I could have done much better than that, but it was definitely a learning experience. I recommend creating 1 main ad and using it for each group of people you target.

In my test, I targeted "Internet Marketing" "Affiliate Marketing" and "Web Traffic" but I messed up by using them all on just 1 ad.

I also used the URL builder via Google Analytics (and goal tracking) to make sure the links were tracked properly.

It didn't convert well at all.

About a year ago, I did a $50 run on my Facebook page and ended up with almost 500 fans (started at 89) so it can have a very viral effect.

If you take that route, I would suggest using a Welcome Tab with a Fan Gate suggesting that people like the page in order to get some type of free content.

This really helped me, and I was also asking people to subscribe to my newsletter. I ended up making all my money back as well which was awesome!

      Moral of the story

Don't send Facebook traffic to a blog
Do send it to a Fan Page Welcome Tab w/ Fan Gate

      Hopefully this helps!

You wouldn't get many clicks to produce many sales or leads. Things to consider with Solos are the following:

      - Size of list
      - Quality of list
      - Open rate of particular list depending on list itself and subject line
      - CTR depending on if people are interest in offer(how targeted it is) and how good the copy and call to action is
      - Avg. 1-3% Conversion rate of offer or 20-40% Optin rate if your building but this could be much lower if you're a newer marketer.

Even 200 dollar tests can't promise you conversions and for that reason I wouldn't recommend you testing solo ads with only $50.

The two options I recommended above would be the way to go, and you could do the following too without a site, which is similar of the one of the two business models I mentioned above.

Combine it with a viral social campaign. Set up a decent fan page with pics, videos and great articles that can go viral, and increase your traffic and likes. Use the $50 for Fb ads to your Fan page with can help you increase your organic traffic and links. This way you have something to build upon, where as $50 with solo ads ad networks to your offer, will probably not yeild any results right off the bat.

I would recommend you to spend your 50$ behind an expert traffic driver who can drive traffic using Yahoo Answer, forum discussion, Topix, identi.ca, facebook, twitter or any other traffic worthy places. Also you can contact with a email list holder who can broadcast your message to his subscribers. The best way to utilize your 50$ indeed.

You can get a free account at safe-swaps.com and then buy some real inexpensive solo ads that guarantee clicks and many times the sellers over deliver. It might be best considering the amount of your budget to wait on paid traffic and keep saving your money why you focus on free traffic methods like:

      Forum Posting/commenting
      Facebook Posting/commenting
      Blog Posting/commenting

It all depends on the product you are trying to advertise.

If you are looking to advertise a MMO product, you could spend it here on a page in this forum.

If you are looking to advertise an affiliate product, you could spend it online or even on your local paper - depending on what the product is.

Facebook, hubpages, google, bidvertiser, etc, ??

      Too many places to consider

Best place to spend it is where your customers would best be found.

Depends on what your advertising. Some cpa offers can be tested well with $50. If your talking about a traditional product or service, then I would recommend a ppc campaign. 7search is pretty cheap with search traffic.

Depends on what you are selling is always the case. Most full time Internet Marketers don't do Free or Cheap advertisement anymore. But there are still lots of FREE ways to promote your product!

    1) Craigslist - post benefits!
    2) Facebook - never sell to friends... talk about benefits to friends
    3) Create you own review of your products in "free" or public blogs.
    4) Twitter (make 2 accounts) to the world everyday!
    5) Create free wordpress site different from your products but pre-selling to your product
    6) Dont do SafeSwaps but buy quality solos at soloaddirectory.com avg:$2/lead not sales.

Totally beginners should just learn how to blog (blogger.com) Google own blogger and gets ranks high automagically and build cool websites Flash style (Wix.Com) for high converting sites!

    Hope that helps!

Well if your in the IM niche then ppc and solo ads would be a wise investment

you can easily buy a solo ad for $50 and get around 150 unique clicks to your squeeze page

if your squeeze page converted at 33% then you would gain 50 new subscribers

if your OTO converted at 10% you would make x5 sales which you could make most of your $50 back if not more

if your using ppc you can use this exact funnel but using ppc it all depends on what keywords you bid for and how much you pay

if your paying on average $0.50 per click you should still be able to generate 100 clicks and end up with 33 subscribers

there are too many variable to consider which will depend on the outcome of your results but these are just a couple of good ways that you can use to spend $50 on advertisement
