Any reliable, accurate, free, online video converters out there?

Take a look at N°1 Free online Video Converter

Im not sure how good it is as i havent used it in a long long time, i only remember using it to quickly convert a file. I found it in Google and its been sitting on my Tab-bar ever since!

note: I'm not trying to download a vid. I have raw vid files that are mts format. I want to convert those files into avi format.

The best online FREE video converter is the Freemake Video Converter. This converts even to Blu Ray and really, really great quality. Download it and keep it on your desktop.

I have used and even recommended this software but, since it's so integrated into the OS and Internet browsers brings compatibility problems on Windows. Yes it's great to download an convert but causes compatibility issues and stability problems on some system configurations. For example, with WMWare.

Hi Timothy,

Well I live in Madrid but I love Cadiz. Is my preferred place to go to walk by the seaside, to eat "pescadito" "tortitas de camarones" and to drink a lot of beer. Everything tastes better in Cadiz :-)

I used to go every year invited by a friend of mine but I haven't been able to return for more than 10 years. There are several friends from Madrid that are currently living there so maybe I'll visit them soon. Not in August, of course. Too hot now.

Try freemake video converter. I have used it, is very easy to work and doesn't attach any ads to your video. I wanted to edit some videos and I did it really fast with this software.

Mariam. Trust me. Forget FreeMake. The quality of the videos encoded with Handbrake is ages ahead of those converted using Freemake.

Other interesting tools to consider are:

XviD4PSP - Winnydows

MediaCoder (for batch processing. Supports AVI)

Handbrake is the best. I remember doing lots of research regarding video converters and everything is garbage when compared to HandBrake at least when it comes to freeware. I also remember using Any Video Converter. The freeware is ok but the paid version is awesome.

I have purchased video software. Nothing free or paid beats this exceptional software. And it's easy to use. I use it to encode in H264 and Dolby or DTS sound. Handbrake does not support AVI anymore but that's not a problem, IMO since I don't see any reason to use this container nowadays when H264 offers much better quality at much lower bitrates and a lot more compatibility with any device or medium (web, mobile devices, etc).

Talking about researching, my advise is also based on hundred of hours researching and testing.

Hi, I happened to see a free online video converter - videoripper.me while browsing on the internet. After tried it on my computer, I found it is super easy for converting online videos to mp4, avi, 3gp, even audio formats. Maybe you can have a try too.
