Does this significantly impact your conversion rate?

Hey Warriors,

Do you think having a third party hosted order form negatively impacts your conversion rate?

I currently use 1shoppingcart and was considering switching to volusion for an unrelated reason and when I was talking to the volusion account rep he mentioned how having a third party order page will hurt conversion rates vs. hosting the page on your own domain. Something about the user subconsciously seeing the domain change being a trust issue ...etc.

I was wondering if any of you had any experience with this - ideally, some stats or significant difference you found, if any.

    It depends what URL I'm redirected to. If 1ShoppingCart, PayPal, eJunkie, etc., that's fine. I prefer any of those (or those similar) compared to a random domain (i.e. your website). Just my opinion.

    I have had subscribers say they were uncomfortable with unrecognized pay sites to put their info into, so I've stayed a way from it myself

      From a customer's point of view I think paypal or one of the other common processors is best. I prefer paypal because I have that account so I'm not really exposing my credit card information to yet another company who may have questionable security standards.
