Most New IMers Want: Success Or A Pity Party?
Have you ever met a car dealer, landscaper, plumber, florist, dentist, restaurant owner, mechanic, wedding planner, personal trainer, minister, carpenter, computer salesman, or ANY OTHER BUSINESSPERSON who said things like...
- I've been doing this for six years and still no sales.
- It's not fair! Why won't someone help me do this?
- Can I succeed working 2 hours per week?
- Can I do this without spending any money?
- I want someone else in my same industry to give me a blueprint on exactly how I can compete with them and make lots of money!
- That system didn't work for me. I should be able to just cross my t's and dot my i's and let the system handle the rest shouldn't I?
But I challenge new entrepreneurs to look at what they are doing and be brutally honest about this whole "I'm trying" pitch.
I've met an appalling number of people who claim to want success but then act consistently in a manner that is exactly opposite of their claim.
We can blame it on the masters of hype who sell the "sit-on-you-ass-and-get-rich-pushing-buttons" mentality but I think that's flawed. The fact is such nonsensical promotions would not exist if people didn't want to believe the pitches behind them!
In a recent thread we talked about "gurus" selling ghost-written nonsense and calling it expert advice. But at the same time there's a good deal of solid info available online and I've seen/heard many people bashing IM products/systems that are in fact very good.
So a key question I have on that note is...
How can someone who has never made money online really know if something "doesn't work" - ESPECIALLY after only a few days, which is the time frame for most refund requests?
It's easy to complain that "nothing works" when everyone else is chiming in and telling their failure stories as well. But the truth is only a small percentage of those who say they want to earn online are putting forth a legitimate effort.
Are you really trying or are you piddling around on your computer for a couple of hours each day, doing very little in the way of real planning or work?
I hope rather than flaming me most readers will see the value of my challenge. Also I hope to see some good contributions and counterpoints.
It's actually good news for anyone who realizes they have been less than fully committed up to this point. It means they can shift into gear and begin creating substantial results from here forward!
