How To Get Started With List Building?

Hi there folks,

Thanks for taking the time to help me understand list building a little better.

I've been in IM for quite some time already, but I've always neglected list building.

Now, I just know it's time to finally get into the area ASAP. So how do you propose one should begin?

I already own a couple of sites in niches including health, SEO, and closely related areas of interest.

All inputs are appreciated. If you have a course recommendation or something of the sort, I would appreciate that as well.

In fact, I'm all eyes and ears on this one. All input is greatly appreciated.

    decide exactly what niche you want to build a list around but make sure there are plenty of buyers and people are already buying and spending money and make sure there is plenty of competition

    create a squeeze page

    create a good high quality free report/course/video series etc

    either create your own low priced product to sell as a OTO or use an affiliate product

    then drive traffic and watch conversions and make tweaks from there

    these are the bare essentials but a start none the less :-)

    if you have blogs already in your chosen niche you can even add your squeeze page on your blogs so you can funnel traffic from there and start to see results fairly quickly

    Opt in forms on your websites leading to squeeze pages with free offers such as paul said, then ramp it up by joining JV giveaways, or try buying some solo ads, and once you have about 300 on your list try safe swaps dot com to do some ad swaps! this builds your list fast! better the quality of the offer the better your list will grow!

    I use an opt in form in my blogs side bar and also a lightbox pop up on my blog.

    Aside from that I am split testing a couple of squeeze pages and am also using JV Giveaways and article directories

    I read many times that is very attractive to offer an e-book for free to start building your list. If you promote the offer of a free e-book at forums (many allow this) you will get many people on your list.
