    You might have a penalty...

Check and see where the site is ranked. If it's 50 spots back from where you usually see it that's a penalty. If you can type in the site name and see it, but not for the keywords you normally see it at, it may be a site-wide backlink penalty, which if that's the case, you'll need to remove any/all site-wides going to the site.

I've had lots of sites penalized - and I've brought a lot of sites back - so I've got plenty of experience for you.

I have never heard of this Site Wide penalty before Has anyone else ?

I see many people offering site wide links It seems quite a standard thing
So if a site wide penalty exists it could affect a lot of peoples sites ?

It's very annoying but I don't think it's anything to worry about. One of my sites which is always around #2 gets slapped around now and again but always ends up back at #2 before long. Don't know what the story is but It dosn't seem too sinister.

It's the Google dance, like Jared said. It happens to everybody's site sooner or later. I'm sure you will see it back where it was soon.

If your site is "relevant" to whatever keywords you are targeting,
"relevancy" being what google wants for its customers, then you
should see your sites being restored to their previous rankings on
the SERPs in due time. "Google dance", LOL, that's funny, but it's
true... Just continue to provide "relevant" content and you will be
    fine...
