Damn! I Want To Make Money ALREADY!

I've joined this forum 2.5 years ago and still searching for answers to bring in just a minimal mount of income! I don't have much to invest. I am unemployed collecting $0 starting Aug 1st. An illness of mine prevents me from going out of my home and finding work out in the workplace arena.

I have been trying my hand at internet marketing, review sites and niche marketing with amazon and clickbank products. Thing is, since I don't write very well, I've had to pay others to write for me. The backlinking that I've done manually, hasn't any real affect on my biz. I've resorted to pay for both services and still, only an average of $25/month in return after 2.5 years of trying and allowing a dozen of my sites to just expire.

I've recently been looking into HYIP companies like JustBeenPaid and Zeek, only to hear that they are scams and the risks are high that these companies will be closed down, sooner or later..... and with my luck, sooner, no doubt.

I am willing to work at least 4 hours (or more) per day. I don't have a life.... I do nothing but sit here and twiddle my fingers waiting for an opportunity to pop out at me in my ongoing, grueling searches. I thought that perhaps data entry would be an opportunity, only to find that all the good and legitimate ones have a waiting list of 2 years.

I am desperate folks - I have no money to invest although I have lots of time, I have no background experience in computer work, writing one article takes me forever, I've looked into places like oDesk, Fiverr, and the lot, etc. I've come to the conclusion that you need money to make money and all of mine went out the window when I became ill. Any sound and realistic ideas? I need something that will bring in the money now and not later.

If this doesn't sound pathetic I don't know what does.... but that is my situation. At over 50 and back home with my mom and sister and her 2 teenagers is killing me for the last 3 years - that's when I lost my business, home and sold all of my belongings worth anything!! UGH! I'm not ready to accept this as my fate!

What can I do, you may ask? I am a certified natural health counselor and can help people to heal themselves from every and practically all diseases/illnesses - I've studied under one of the greatest healers of all time - and this can be done thru my special diet and herbal tinctures. (95% success rate!!) Maybe some of you in the lot are suffering from a health issue or know of someone who is that I can share my expertise with?? I can do this online thru Skype, emails or phone calls. But with this biz, I have no way and money to market this. Why haven't I healed myself? - Even takes money to heal! And, I'm dying to do so.... as soon as I can make some money!

I could probably proofread anyone's eBooks and such - very good in grammar, but I have no experience to find a job w/ this, I looked into it just recently.

Like you probably assumed - I am at wits end and am open for all suggestions, if you will. It would be greatly appreciated!

  • Your writing is fine so you'll have to head over to iwriter and start getting some income coming in. Then when you get enough you'll probably want to start on your own product based on natural healing and try to get that going. You need the money first, however. I feel your pain. Good luck.

    • Everyone on the web has heard that you can clean out your garage or dust off some things from the basement or attic and make a few bucks by selling it on eBay. I’m not going to dispute that because that is 100% true. Back in the day I took it a step further and sold popular used magazines that I picked up for a song at used book stores, made screen savers based on the hottest trends of the day and a few other like ideas and was able to generate enough extra cash to buy a hot tub and a big screen TV! Now it was some work but I was able to run auctions about every two weeks and make on average $1500 per auction. This was working a few nights a week as I had a full time gig as well. Not bad huh? I’m sure I could have made more but that was all the time I cared to put into it. The return is directly proportional to the effort you put in.
  • One thing that I think everyone would say to you is to take action, I was like this, then I just had a few free weeks so took some action once the ball is rolling you couldn't stop it even if you wanted to.

If you take action you will make some $$$

  • You have a good lead being able to write decently, sign up on some freelancing websites like Elance and odesk. you can start there. then if you think you have enough knowledge on the trade then maybe you can start your own website and do some affiliate programs or sell your product. It will just be slow on the first few weeks.

  • I think I would start contacting some of the other people on the forum who are offering article writing services and see if you could write for them. I would also head over to Fiverr.com and offer to write Amazon reviews, Lulu.com reviews and Barnes & Noble Nook Book review, as well as articles.

I would look high and low for any service that pays to write more than 10 lines. I would check-out blog posting services. Think "out-of-the box"

  • Treevee,

You state " I am a certified natural health counselor and can help people to heal themselves from every and practically all diseases/illnesses - I've studied under one of the greatest healers of all time - and this can be done thru my special diet and herbal tinctures. (95% success rate!!)"
You should capitalize on it by way of a website explaining what you do and the success rate. Then go here and use this guys service to get your site noticed (I am not an affiliate for this service. Just trying to provide another angle you could consider to make some $$) :

    http://www.warriorforum.com/complete...available.html

The service you provide is to use Skype to help people heal themselves. You charge what you feel comfortable for your experienced value.
You do this and the whole world is your oyster.

I just checked and you have a lot of low competition/high searched keywords to go after and could get numerous first paged listings if done correctly.
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • It seems you are missing one simple thing. Find a need and fill it. It's that simple. So if you aren't getting anywhere, you probably aren't offering something that will fill a void.

You can learn everything in the world-traffic generation, social network marketing, blogging, every technique under the sun and become an expert at all of them. But at the end of the day if you aren't offering something that will fill a need, you aren't going to make any money. I've had to learn this the hard way.

I wondered for a long time why I wasn't getting anywhere. I mean I know how to do all of these things, but (and it seems really obvious and stupid) I just wasn't doing the right things to make that money. I built blogs, I started projects but didn't finish them. On and on and on.

So it all comes down to finding something that people want, and filling that void. It is that simple. Then sticking to it and seeing it through. Hope this helps.

  • First off, why are you only willing to work 4 hours a day? Go at this full time. 8+ hours a day until you figure something out. Start with writing to make some money. Get $10+ an hour for your work. Do that for half a day and work on reinvesting that back into your business the other half of the day. If you do this you'll make $280 a week and then can build from there. Good luck!
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • 4 hours a day is a gift inits self! If you are looking for an easy to do business plan my suggestion would be

    week 1
Build 4 review sites in different large niches i.e weight loss, finance, sports betting and online earning
find 4 high value products for each site from clickbank of CJ or the likes even here on the wso forum, and write a breif review on your web site! For now forget SEO!

    week2 and onwards
goto dub dub dub dot big boards dot com and find the biggest/busiest forums in your chosen niches that allow forum sigs and sign up and begin posting quality posts and answer peoples problems/questions to build up some post count! remember to use google to help provide value posts on anything your unsure of.
Once you have set yourself up on these forums and made some good posts, do a simple signature for each niche.

4 hours a day, means you can post 1 hour a day on each forum, with value posts you should be able to acheive 10 posts on each one, which will result in good traffic to your sites and lead to sales!

Not what I would recomend for a long term business plan, but it will make you money which you can re-invest into your biz, buy products and give honest reviews, start SEO and build a list for each niche via an opt-in form and free offer on your sites!
Magic doesn't happen over night but with 4 hours a day you can build the foundations to a good future and just keep expanding!

This is not everyones cup of tea but probably one of the simplest start ups!

    Good luck
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • There is absolutely nothing wrong with your writing, so that's all in your head. When it comes to making money with websites, the thing I've discovered is that once you start making money, it's all about pushing out content. It's the difference between making a few hundred dollars and thousands of dollars a month. You should also be building a list. Keep working on that.

You could also get into ghostwriting, where you do research and write content for other marketers. It's a long-term business model. You can also get paid in whole or part before you do any work -- depending on what you and the client decide. Tiffany Dow has a product called Ghostwriting Cash that you'd benefit from.

    • I honestly feel that you need to be more confident from reading your post. That's what business is all about...taking some risk. If you fail you try again. You just have to find something that you are really good at and market it. I hope that you are able to figure it out soon and wish you the best. Try having a little more confidence and you will attract positivity.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I noticed some similarities with myself. Just like said above, your main issue seems like lack of confidence. And I am sure you have a reason for that. I know how it is being dependent on someone economically. And I am pretty sure your illness is somewhat psychological like agoraphobia. And because I think you are similar to my case, I would say you are a perfectionist which makes you feel incomplete most of the time.

I would like to talk you privately but i couldn't send a private message because i am new. If you don't mind, could you send me your mail address? Maybe you find it helpful to talk with me.

    • I really do appreciate all of your replies and for taking the time to help a fellow out.

@JEasy + infinityplr + chill_007 + Miguelito203 - My writing IS fine! If you want me to write about natural healing, nutrition, holistic health, detoxification, my life..... I can right just fine. But to research something that I have no clue about and put in my own words would take me forever. The time it would take to make a measly $5-10 on just one article doesn't seem like time well-spent - $5-10 a day is more than nothing, but I feel there has to be something better and more lucrative. It's not an excuse.... I have tried this!

I already have a website up and have worked mainly Yahoo Answers, LinkedIn and others to promote it..... still no signs of Google ranking it. I even paid for SEO services from Matt LaClear a few months back! I think that my writing is ok - HealingDetoxDiet(dot)com???? Like I said, this is something I am passionate about and have 8+ years in learning it!

@TomBuck - Taking action is, of course, what it takes. I have put hours upon hours in work - writing, backlinking, learning from the pros and following their action plans to a tee, researching keywords, etc.

I got the review site courses from Jan Roos and Michael Franklin and put my heart and soul in them for at least 3 months each... that was a year ago. I bought Pot Pie Girl's squid course and did 5 niches. I did the 30 Day Challenge twice, building a handful of sites with that. Still, averaging $25 a month. Paying my hosting every month cuts that back to $15/ month. I don't know how much longer I can even afford to keep that going.....

@Michael55555 - I want "some" money, not "more"!

@deckman - You got $48 I can borrow? (jk!) I will look deeper into that - if it will work for me and see if I can somehow borrow money.

@scrofford - I know what you're saying.... a VOID can be anything. For instance, someone won't go to sleep unless they find that digital voice recorder that they just got to have! Boom! There's my site. But how can they find it when it's buried in Google's 12th page ... all because you could not afford to keep a good SEO program going and keeping up with all the algorithmic changes?

I have the secret (only because not too many people know of it) to healing naturally your body, mind, emotions and spirit! Many people want that info and it would definitely fill that void of great health!

@FrankMiller - I said at least 4 hours. My mother is handicapped and depends on me to help her at all times of the day. I have put in upwards of 10 hours working on projects some days.

@louie6925 - 4 sites = $40 about... ain't got it! I have 6 review sites already.... just sitting there. I have put MUCH time and energy working SEO for them in forums, profile links, quality commenting, Yahoo Answers, etc. I seriously don't understand how a person can have luck with this - it is beyond my comprehension being that I've done that for a long time!

Basically, I'm done with IM! I have put well over $2,000 into IM only to get a return of about 15% of that over 2.5 years time. The time has come that I must draw the line and realize that this isn't working for me. And, considering that I no longer have the income of state assistance any more I cannot spend any more.

@moneymakersguide - Confidence has left the building with IM!

      @ Wantrepreneur - pm sent!

I really Can not give you advice though, I have not found out how to succeed 100 percent of the time. Sometimes I make decent money and some months barely enough to pay for my servers.

Good Luck to you and hope something I said helps It didn't help me lol.

  • Hi Treevee,

From what I have read I think its a matter of applying yourself in the right areas. If you are an expert at natural health/holistic healing etc then that is what you should be focusing on.

I've just taken a look at your site and there are plenty of things that you can be doing to generate an income from there.

    For example:
    1) Last update was the 17th November 2011 could you be posting more content more regularly?
    2) No optin box? Are you building a list.

Treevee you are an expert at a topic that is in demand.....you just need to get yourself out there.

Shoot me a pm if you wanna chat.

    Kind regards

    Chris

  • Dude...you're a War Room member. Spend a couple of hours in that forum and just read.

You don't want to write. You don't want to do anything in IM. Why don't you try the Offline Forum here? There are a ton of good ideas in there that you can do without leaving your home as well.

And if you're only making $5-$10 per day writing, you're doing something wrong. I make a lot more than that, and I don't even use the freelance sites.

  • Migrate to Ebay if you want to make money fast. Millions of people there everyday looking to buy something. No need to pull your hair out because of this.

In fact, you can get yourself some self-satisfaction and delight by selling your PS3, Xbox, and the flatscreen for some nice easy cash.
    • [1] reply
    • Totally agree. I got started on eBay years back very simple especially if you have stuff sitting around that you don't use
  • I think you should go for freelancing. Go to the best freelancing sites like freelancer, odesk, guru, elance etc. Register there and provide your services on which you the best. If you know backlinking, you write good articles, you can place bids in such projects. You will be able to earn instantly. Affiliate marketing takes a lot of time to get decent income.
  • Teresa (or whoever),

If you could really help people cure themselves from practically all diseases and illnesses you would be worth about a billion bucks.

But all you have are excuses. An excuse for not working. Excuses for not making use of your claimed expertise. Excuses for pursuing dozens of niches you have no experience in instead of what you do know. Excuses for not writing. Excuses for not spending enough time on IM. Excuses for not curing yourself.

In my house the word "can't" was banned. You should do the same.

For starters, you could put your name, contact information, expertise boldly on your website.

Put up a PayPal link for consultations.

Respond to questions in relevant forums with your sig.

Get rid of spam comment backlinks on your blog. You'll never rank when spam linking to xbox, huntington beach homes for sale, etc.

Whatever your illness is, did you consider a guide to help others? A forum with others in a similar condition can post that offers Adsense and related ads?

Review the infamous what to do when you're desperate thread. You've been here long enough to know about it.

Instead of wasting time on websites like the one on marine phytoplankton, your detox site is less than a year old and the content is underwhelming and sparse. Interestingly, I was talking to people today about the time and commitment involved in developing a business and they opined at least a year to break even.

If you're looking for a post with some quick fix you're not going to get it here. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think tough love is a better approach at this point. The forum and War Room have a million ideas and strategies. Personally, I don't think any of them will help you because you're admittedly looking for opportunities to pop-out. Well, after stringing out the government benefits (paid by others) for as long as possible - maybe when that wall hits you'll finally get serious about your situation.

There are people on this forum with disabilities, with limited Internet access, from dirt poor countries, who get it together and make a living.

A friend on mine is finding work with a disability organization after having a brain tumor and literally being completely helpless for a period of time relying on others to take care of basic human needs.

Why don't you take an inventory of what you can do and your assets. By "assets" I am not talking about money. What is it you know, etc. Once you have an inventory then maybe you should post to see if anyone can help you make money from your assets. Your current websites are assets. Maybe you should stop looking for more new opportunities where you are starting from ground zero and start taking advantage of what you already have.

    .
    • [ 5 ] Thanks
  • Do you realize that you've already pointed out how you can start making money online. Content Sells!! and the only thing that's missing is taking action (like a few before me have already pointed out)

Heres what you need to do.. right now, if you're serious about getting yourself out of s#$t

get off this forum and close down everything but a web page for ideas and inspiration and a word processor page. then write, about what interests you - natural health - and dont stop writing till you have 20 original articles written by you. and if that means you're at your computer for the next 50hrs straight doing nothing but writing those article than that's just what needs to be done.

when you've done that check back in and i'll show you a few ways to make cash from those articles that cost you nothing to write but time which you already have
  • Treevee, I feel for you. But there is absolutely no reason why you would not succeed with the right focus, action, confidence and determination. You attract what you think, and right now you think IM will not work for you. Guess what's likely to happen?

You think you can't write. That's why you can't. Your post is perfectly fine - so you have no problems writing.

You have great credentials as a natural health counselor and I'm sure you have social proof of what you can do. That's what you should focus on. You have a skill and knowledge that 99% others do not have - use it! Forget about the other niches, put all your energy and effort into this one and FOCUS.

Find the right forums where you can show your expertise and find out what kinds of healing are being sought after right now. Offer your services. Direct people to your website and get them into your mailing list. Find affiliate products related to natural healing. Maybe start a membership site where you provide advice and consultation on natural healing for a small monthly fee. Write as many articles as you can on what you know and post them to the big article directories. Find successful websites in this niche and offer to guest blog.

Since money is an issue, try also to make money offline. I don't know if you have such facilities where you live, but you could leave a free ad at the local community center or supermarket with contact details for anyone who needs a health consultation. You may also arrange to give a free talk at your local community center so people get to know you as an expert and hand out your card at the event. (Or charge a small fee for people to attend...)

Or offer courses on natural health for people who want to learn the practice - perhaps both online and offline.

I'm sure you can think of many more ideas.

But the very first thing you need to do is to think only of what you want to achieve - not what you have not been able to achieve. I'm not a true believer of the Law of Attraction but I think there are some truths in there that would serve us well to heed.

    All the best.
    Cheryl

    • Wow! - the meanies come out late!! I'm just kidding! Actually, I just reread my original post and boy did I sound like a big cry baby! Thanks for the slaps in the face - they were all reality checks! Seriously folks, you are all right and some with great ideas. I guess it was a cry for help so that I could pick your brains coz mine is just not creatively thinking lately and the depression and staleness was overwhelming me.

@scrofford - I don't have the resources to tide me over to build a business, I need to start bringing in real money and now. I don't want things placed in my lap - I worked hard at putting together my business and so far, it's not been lucrative. I'm not quitting, I'm relocating!!

Show me one person on here that has made a decent income who did not put money into learning the ropes of some good program or bought an SEO service and such!

@kindsvater - The word can't was not allowed in our household either when I was young! Did you ever think that people come up with so-called "excuses" because they have hit a wall or 2 and suddenly everything seems so obscure? And, no, I haven't heard of the infamous what to do when you're desperate thread but will surely check it out.

I do appreciate all the advice - see, I would've never thought of some of those things. A quick fix? How about something that can bring me in some income right away - doesn't have to be much at all. That's basically what I'm looking for right now and I can work on my healing site daily to build that up.

I have signed up just recently with an occupational therapist, but like I said, it is very tough for me to leave home. There's gotta be something out there that isn't a scam or that doesn't involve writing that will let me draw checks.

@webpeon - I'm going to take you up on that!!

@Cheryl Low - Thanks for all your advice on building up my healing business! Someone just ordered a book for me as a "get out of my gloom" gift. It's called, The Prosperity Secret - it looks very enlightening and am excited to start feeling whole again without the depression that has recently veiled over me.

  • If you want to work on IM, Then work on realistic Projects... Like Adsense and Ecommerce Sales.
  • Do you know that you have a knowledge/niche/expertise that you can cash on? This is one evergreen market and I'm surprised that you are not cashing on that!

To start, go to here: Ether: Sell Therapy, Counseling, Tax Advice, Computer Help, and More - Sell what you say

Sign up for an account, and give advice today.

There are many of such websites on the Internet but Ether is one of the oldest services provided.

I'm sure someone in this forum would endorse Ether and recommend other similar sites.

    Your strategy should be:
    - Sign up for Ether
    - Wait for business
    - At the meantime, setup a website that caters to natural health
    - While answering questions and make money, answer their need, direct them to your website for more information. Redirection to your website should be secondary. Make sure that you do your basic work of give expert advice.

In this way, you will make money and at the same time, build social awareness of your natural health site.

Keep doing this for one year, you WILL make money.

P.S. If you like my strategy, please 'pay' me by giving me one free health advice that I need for my liver issue.

  • Being pro-active is the key. You said you twiddle your thumbs, but your thumbs should be typing. If you have time you can definitely make money. Do you have your own website selling healing products? Do you have your own healing blog? As a self-confessed healing guru your wisdom could definitely have an appeal. Make sure you keep the blog personable and appealing.

The best thing to do is to stick to what you know, and you are definitely 'in the know' within what can be considered a very lucrative field.

If you want any help promoting your websites I will happily offer you some more specific advice so either PM me here or add me on Skype

  • Offer your own writing service right here on the forum! Head on over to the Warrior for Hire section, do some research on other writing services, get a sales page set-up, offer some free reviews to get the ball rolling and start networking!

Eventually you will build up a client base that trusts you, loves your work, and will pay a premium to get quality content written by YOU!

Something to think about at least.

The systems that I've put money into haven't worked. The systems that I taught myself or were taught for free have worked wonders.

I've been paid very well to learn IM due to strategic placement and maneuvering. You can do the same thing...it's just a matter of looking at things differently and looking for opportunities where they seem least likely.

  • Rather than adding the usual, ambiguous "take action" message to this thread like everyone else, I'm going to give you a system that might work for your situation. Hope they will give you some inspirations.

First off, here are the things that you should be thankful: You have knowledge in the health niche, a HUGE niche that is even bigger than the internet marketing niche.

Now, how do you monetize this?

I'm pretty sure there are people in this forum who are also in this niche and are looking for quality PLR products on the health market. So, here are the steps:

    1. Write 10 articles on the health field that you are familiar with. Make sure you write a very high quality piece. Shoot for minimum of 750 words each. Try to find what's hot on the market using Google News, etc. Don't hold back here if you truly want to make money.

    2. Have someone proofread and edit your articles and put it on a .zip file.

    3. Sell your product as a PLR in the WSO section. Listing in the WSO section will cost you money but if done right, you will enjoy the ROI - FAST

    4. Write the sales letter (doesn't have to be long, be straight to the point and write down your 10 article titles there) and sell the product for $27 for one package of 10 articles.

    5. This is the important part - LIMIT your product quantity (done via WarriorPlus) to 100 (or whatever you want to limit it to). This is to add that "scarcity" factor so people want to buy quicker. Also, it is because you don't want to oversaturate the market with your product.

Now let's do a breakdown in cost:

Writing 10 articles - $0 (Assuming you write them your own)
    WarriorPlus Listing Fee - $19
    WSO Bump Fee - $40

    Total cost - $59

Revenue Generated (assuming all 100 are sold) - $2700

    Your Net Profit - $2641

Not bad for quick money, huh?

One last thing, use the money (or should I say re-invest) to create even more WSOs or webinars or build website... whatever that you can do to build your business momentum. DON'T go out and buy expensive TVs, cameras and stuff.

    Hope this helps.

    -Andrew

    • OH MY! I thank you all for your supporting words of wisdom! In my desperate cry, I am blessed with true inspiration! I'm going to get off of my keester and get cracking at writing my own articles on health. @nasuryono - I'm going to do just what you had suggested, first! @webpeon - You will be hearing from me momentarily, also, so don't forget who I am when you get the pm with 20 articles!

Then, after I begin to see some income generated, I will be taking action on Joseph Then's advice to do Ether. @Joseph Then - I will be happy to help you out with your health condition!!! When you're ready, just pm me.

Starting this thread was done by putting my ego aside and humbly asking for help, which I don't like to do too often. But, I'm so glad that I got tons of brainstorm activity from the lot of you! This is graciously one fantastic forum filled with amazing people - you are all gems!

      Sincerely, thank you all!

  • And you haven't created a video / audio course yet?. Let me tell you: IF you're telling The TRUTH HERE, then I would really consider doing something more lucrative THAN just "working" for someone else...

    I would do this:

    1. Create a video product: A) a basic guide with basic stuff (frontend) B) Advanced product (backend) C) One-one coaching (expensive)

    2. Find a few people on Self help related forums ( WRITE in your signature "Free One-on-one coaching with a 95% successrate professional, PM me / email me NOW! Only 3 spots left!" (Or something, you get the drift!) who are willing to try out your one-on-one coaching for free. = YOu Get testimonials. THe more, the better.

    3. Publish a book or two on amazon (through Lulu, Createspace or the like). = Makes you an authority. Use Dragon naturally speaking if you don't want write it, but to "speak it into words"

    4. Once you get the testimonials, a least 10... Write a "book", a testimonial book, with those testimonials. = Social Proof!

    5. Create a monthly newsletter. Where to find topics? Go to amazon, and look for selfhelp books in your niche, and look into their first page where you find the content listing / headlines for content.

    6. Create your ebook / video course and publish it on JVzoo and find affiliates

    7. Get free traffic with youtube, forum posting, press releases.

    8. Use trackingsoftware to find out what your opt-in rates and conversion rates are. Split testing is E-A-S-Y with PixelTrakk

    9. Find a freelance copywriter who can split the money from the first sales...

    10. Find Proof that you've got a killer product that converts like crazy, SHOW THIS to affiliates. Give affiliates 100% commissions on the front end and 50% - 100% on the backend, to get huge opt-in lists fast.

    11. Get rid of wealth limiting beliefs (program your brain)

    12. Get on video, create a community (FB groups, skype groups, and the like), find out what they want through surveys, etc.

    13. Create a big high end coaching program and charge what you're comfortable with.. .Sell that through your webinars or even live broadcast stream. Show your "testimonial book", etc.

    Need more ideas? PM me

  • Surely theirs a way try fiverr and do something for folks their. Below is a link I use daily to earn, it works just fine, but you do need to take action. Or maybe you can upload the pics in your camera and sell them, trust me anyone can earn something.
    • [1] reply
    • I understand what you are at, I have been there too and I have figure much what the problem is.

I used to have the same problem and i was looking for any money making on the internet, any affiliate program or data entry.
My answer is Stop searching, pick one method and just stick with it.

You can build a couple of websites niche related like computer related stuf or something. I did well in the weight loss niche after a couple of months i have earned some good money. I also did some dataentry, in like freelancercom, the problem is most of them are scams.
What i did i have one online job, but it was by accident by some legitimate company and i financed some software. and also PPV like directcpv.

Stick with one method, what I liked where methods like onehourjobs or google sniper. Remeber any blue prints work, but don't get too distracted! If you are looking and searching for any other method, you are only losing time. Just stick with one method it will work. for a beginner i don't suggest paid traffic

When i was searching for any other method i only built websites, but somehow i couldn't push my self to do linkbuilding socialbookmarking and etc.

What really helped constantly worked on some of my blogs, some of the programs can go down or some niches go well in certain period of time, but it is best to build multiple kinds of income streams.

      Me about articles:

I couldn't even write proper english or dutch or whatever language there is.
I had this one dayjob once that i had to write some articles for, that kept me going a little bit, somehow I learned to write articles with CTR and seo and stuff.

I don't do seo articles anymore, the aren't that effective i think, I have some curation software that i bought from this forum..

I curate and write and add my own stuff.

Just take a simple action plan and strategy, decide what you want to promote. Maybe something you are familiar with. For example my fiancee knows a lot about guitars amplifiers and tubes, he tells me all this stuff that are all related in that niche that he knows a lot about. He only is in that niche, with the methods that I teach him. Sticking only with a few affiliate program.

      And promote promote promote.

I really pushed myself hard in learning everything since 2010.
I started out in learning seo tricks etc.

One other reason to stick with just a few methods: You can easily get overwhelmed which will leave you doing nothing.

Build the site promote and take constant action. try to find out what you can promote...

Stay away from dataentry, they can be all scams, not everything perhaps. You can do some online jobs like to get some money to it.
But you need to focus main on your business.

      Good luck!

look in linkshare or share a sale for some products you can promote perhaps cj if digital products niches are too hard for you
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • OP, HYIP's are scams and Ponzi schemes. Stay away from them. Data entry jobs are pretty much rip-offs as well. Working 4 hours a day is not enough. You need to be willing to work at least 8+ hours a day (without taking weekends off) to become successful at IM. Why? Because there are plenty of desperate, struggling people who are doing just that and they are your competition. To outdo them you have to work harder and smarter.
    • [1] reply
    • So then just about EVERY WSO, and other IM product creator/vendor/affiliate is simply lying?

      I am not being sarcastic.

I don't think you, or anyone else - not to pick on ANYONE here, can show even ONE ad copy, of ANY type that says you will have to work their idea/system/product/WSO(!!!) for MORE THAN 8 hours per day, SEVEN DAYS A WEEK!!

And here is a person with a WAR ROOM membership, that is admitting to NOT making any income, WAR ROOM membership not withstanding.

Anyone care to explain what is going on here?

    • I understand your frustration. But you really need to think outside the box. There is a lot of money to be made here online a truck load. I know I am just scraping the tip of the vein of gold here. I will let you know my biggest secret and it is in the word "arbitrage" otherwise known as buying low and selling high. Find people needing a service that are willing to pay a fortune and find people who can do the work for cheap then be the middle man supplying this expensive service while paying little for the same.

Ps forget about HYIP I have lost my fair share in them, Some big money, I mean enough to get me a very nice car right now. Stupid stupid stupid!!!!!
  • It seems to me you write just fine, but are just slow at it (or lazy). This can be remedied with practice. Offer a gig at Fiverr instead of buying one and practice your writing, and you will eventually increase how much you can write in a day. You'll be writing for content marketers most likely (and maybe a high school kids homework essay once and awhile) so you'll have niche ideas by the dozen.

Choose a niche, and stick with it for 3 months. Improve your writing skills, write until your fingers bleed (metaphorically) and just put the content out there. Remember, just one website or blog to focus on, and all the backlinking and social media stuff for that one website and product(s)/service you are marketing. be wary of multi-tasking.

If stuff ain't poppin after 3 months, you'll just have to find a labor or service job. This gig does require a lot of writing - in my experience - so if you want to make some money in this game, and don't want to invest any money, you have to produce content.
    my2cent. Good luck.

    • I don't know if your problem with writing is about writer's block or lack of patience with typing, but you might try DNS (Dragon Naturally Speaking) - If you haven't heard of it, it's a speech dictation program that can transcribe your speech into a Word document (or any other text editor file). Some folks find it easier than typing, if you're already used to typing you might not get along with it. But it might be worth a shot...

Search the WF - there are several threads discussing it.

Also, be willing to work at least 8 hours a day minimum. There are people that put in 8 to 10 hour days and then come home and grind on their computer for another 4+ hours. Bottom line, in my opinion, 4 hours a day is not going to cut it.
  • I see a lot of good reply here, you should make a plan and just start remember its just about taking action.
  • It's a shame you can't go to some third world country see how people live you are probably a thousand times better off just don't realize it. Work on self asteem so you can spot opportunities they are all around you, the problem you have is the one 99% have you just don't see it.

There are billing still being moved around online make a strategy to sell something of value but you can't with this attitude. You have think in the right mindset then you can do it, start thinking how blessed and luck you are not the other way around.

I hope this doesn't upset you but it's true. Good luck.
  • Sounds like you are qualified, but you need to just start DOING IT if you want to make some money.
  • Visit the Offline forum and view some threads by John Durham and Jason Kanigan about cold calling. Find a person on WF that will build you a 5 page Wordpress site for $250, pick up the phone and resell sites to local businesses across the US for $750. Spending one day a week doing this you can easily sell 1 site per day = $2k a month. Double the time on the phones, double your income.
  • One thing you could do to bring in some instant income is:

    1. Sign up for an adult dating network like TheDatingNetwork dot com
    2. Post ads on Craigslist - W4M section (pretending to be a hot girl)
    3. When guys email you, email them back with your affiliate link

Really easy and free method! Enjoy.

    • OMG how funny, i just followed your instructions, create a profile and a guy just send me a message with a picture, the problem is what do I write back. I have my adult affiliate link already but when he visits it he is not going to sign up and see that I am just someone trying to promote a sex site, so how do i make it convert following my affiliate link?

Also I am confused about something, is asking me for webmasters codes, pay per sign up, revshare, and broker. Which one of those do I choose?

  • You have a good style of writing. I suggest you look into Ghost Writing services. This might be a good niche for you as people always will need a ghost writer. Start with doing some research on Google for Ghost Writing and go from there and take action on getting some jobs for ghost writing.
  • If you are great of being a counselor on health niche... then you can create so many books with any sub-subjects. You can sell them all for low price. Play low price to get high volume.

If you think you can not write... then don't write it down, BUT SAY IT on a digital book version as what I called: VIDEOBOOK.

That's right. Create your own VIDEOBOOK. Give a FREE SAMPLE and share it on YouTube to get people know you.

You can always sell your VIDEOBOOKS on any digital marketplace without need to pay anything. Just upload and share the links. The money will go straight to your PayPal account. And you can even get thousands affiliate that ready to sell your VIDEOBOOKS.

    Just do it!
    Good luck!
  • Treeve, I was moved by your post. I understand what you mean when you say you've got nothing to invest. But I see that your post here was very well written and you have SKILLS. Like everyone else here who have been mentioning...there are opportunities here that don't cost a thing and I encourage you to keep preservering. Blessings.
  • @raywarrior - What I find amazing is people automatically think that you aren't taking action just because you are not successful. So many on here replied with the comment that I need to take action! I started IM in Oct. '09, I did 5 different programs and like I said before, followed them to a tee for at least 3 months up to 6 months. Moved on to the next…. not giving up on the previous ones, but hoping with time that one of them might catch. I'm not saying that I didn't slack off for a while, now and again from depression, but never wanted to give up and picked myself up, threw some water on my face and hit the pavement once again. From this experience, I learned that success doesn't happen just because you are taking action, but it's safe to say that most of those who are successful have taken action.

Along with many helpful replies on my thread, which I am heart-fully grateful for in that these comments have lead me to believe in myself and my capabilities again when feeling quite hopeless as I hit a wall, there are judgements being passed, which are unsettling as those should not speak out simple-minded, thoughtless comments unless they have walked a mile in an other's shoes.

I don't have to go to a third world county in order to appreciate what I am blessed with. I am very grateful that I have a couch to sleep on every night - it's not a bed, but I still get a good night's sleep and am able to keep warm or cool with A/C or heat. My belly does not go hungry. I have a loving family - crazy, but we are close. Although, I would really love to be able to go to some of these 3rd world countries to help those in need while humbling myself!!! That was always a dream of mine.

I am very appreciative of what I DO have in my life after losing my business of 9 years, my home, my car and most of my belongings not to mention moving away from my one true love - my son. When all of this happened in '08 to '09, I did not brood over it, instead I welcomed it as a chance to start over fresh, believing that there was something better in store for me….. There is a reason for everything and that I am in total control of my life, blaming no one but myself for all my shortcomings, successes, etc. It is also up to me to change this momentary collapse all around. Thanks to a few posts that have lit up that lightbulb above my head, I have brushed myself off and am now ready to take on this biz headstrong with a game plan in place that I believe will bring me success!

By the way, for those that say that I am well-versed should know that it took me over 2 hours just to write this! I correct spelling, reword and tweak as I go so much! It's not that I believe that I can't write, it's just that it is very time consuming and with my OCD brain, frustrating…. still never satisfied with the end result! Imagine if I took up ghostwriting or writing on a subject that I am unfamiliar with --- with the research, it would take me all day and night to come up with just one 500 word article. I'm not being negative here, folks, just stating the facts!! I've done this before, I know. Will I get better and quicker with time? Perhaps, but I would despise what I was doing and that's another subject that I won't dwell on!

  • I made my first money online about 4 years ago. I bought a product from Jennifer Ledbetter aka potpiegirl. www.potpiegirl.com I simply picked a niche that I was interested in wrote my own content, made Squidoo lenses, and ranked them on google for their keywords.

The product that she has will still work, I am certain of that. I no longer do Squidoo lenses, I do my own blogs but if I had no money to spend I would do that again.

If you have a little money. Pick a niche you like that converts (check gravity on clickbank), find 10 keywords (use free google tool), hire a writer on fiverr to write the articles, then use fiverr for your SEO. It will work, I know because I am still making money from my 50+ Squidoo lenses that I made over 4 years ago. This is what I would suggest to anyone new to the game.
  • I hope it was obvious in my above post but only target one keyword per lens. Make sure it is in the title tags. Scattered about in the content, in the picture file name, and definitely in the squidoo url. Also, type the keyword in google and look at the long tail related keywords (LSI keywords) and make sure you use them in your article as well. This will really help your ranking. Google likes squidoo lenses too.

  • Treevee, I'm the same way with my writing. If it's a topic I'm familiar with, I can write 1000 words an hour. If I have to research, I'll be working on 400 words all day. It's frustrating.

Like you said - the customer should be the first concern - it's all about finding value for him, or matching him to a solution.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Hi Treevee,

I thoroughly read your post and I can relate to it hence I too struggled a lot in the beginning.

But if you're not succeeding even after your 3 years online career, there is something wrong. Instead of wandering around, I suggest you to focus on one thing at a time.

Moreover look at the mirror and say this " It's true that I had no success in the past, I accept complete responsibility on that, it's me, me alone is responsible for my failure and success. Failure is not an option, if others can do it so can I"

    All the best my friend.

  • I've followed many WSO plans without success.

I've chosen profitable niches, read 3 or 4 books on my niche topics and cranked out 100 beautifully written articles for each niche. After I launched the sites, I put up several new articles every week. And my articles are so much better than the cheap articles you'd get from a content farm. It was exactly 1 year ago yesterday (July 29, 2011) that I officially launched my 5 Wordpress sites. I've made $112.00 in Adsense revenue (total).

I've been told that the key to success is great content, but it sure doesn't seem that way to me. I've read posts where people slap up a Wordpress site (with 5 articles bought from a content farm) and it's instantly profitable.

I've pretty much given up on building websites. I'm focusing my attention on Kindle books now.

  • I always recommend Fiverr to beginners. If you can't at least make a few bucks on that site, you're just not trying hard enough.

I tested out Fiverr earlier this year for two reasons.

    1. To run a case study I'd later build a site around.

    2. To help my high schooler earn extra money. If a kid with zero experience is able to earn money, ANYONE can.

    3. To network and refer customers back to my main web services site, where I charge 5-10 times more than I do on Fiverr. As I quickly discovered, Fiverr is a great resource for introducing customers to my services.

I was promoted to Level 2 Seller status within 2 weeks. I've since shutdown most of my gigs and now customers are going through my web services site. The big money maker for me has been Content Development and Social Media Services. Customers love my work and have more confidence in me because I'm a U.S. College Grad (MBA - UCLA).

I've since taken the same approach on other similar sites.

The leads have been steady, but a few months ago it was pretty insane. In fact, I had to take a few weeks off from my day job (Program Manager) a few months ago just so I could get caught up and come up with a sound outsourcing plan. Too much work, not enough time in a day.

  • BTW, I do think making money online is much easier when one already has an income stream coming in. As I mentioned, I have a day job, which is more than enough to support my family and I. It also doesn't hurt that my wife is a medical professional. Hence, unlike others with zero funds to invest, I have been able to invest money which has helped my online business to grow much faster.

All that said, you can make money online without a dime to your name. You just have to take baby steps. You're not going to see results overnight, that's for sure.

  • i think you just need to work harder.....I mean 2.5 years and NOTHING??? I literally just started learning about SEO around a month ago (look at my join date) and my site, which is in an extremely competitive niche, made it to page 4 with link building alone. sure this could be attributed to the "google bump"...but still, its proof that even just a little bit of work can show results fairly quickly. if you've been into this for 2.5 years, then clearly there is something you're doing wrong. oh and btw, i can't write for **** either....

  • I am a semi retired certified acupuncturist and nutrition consultant. I been through something similar with a health condition I worked with. I had to close my business, lost nearly everything and had to live with family. Lots of depression too.

There comes a time when enough is enough though, you pick yourself back up physically and emotionally and get going again. You can. It is what you focus on and what you tell yourself.

Natural health practitioners tend to be teachers and like hands on experiences. It is what I miss about not working on/with people directly. But the teacher part can certainly show through on the 'net, with consultations being hands on so to speak.
( it is also why we don't do well trying somethings on the internet, it does not resonate).

    My suggestions for you:

Start with yourself. Go to youtube.com and look up brainwave entrainment. You will need to use earphones. Find some things that will help with what you are saying to yourself and about your life. Listen to the same one every morning for a few days/weeks before switching to something else.

Eat the very best diet possible, including organic foods when possible. Drop junk food. I am sure you know the health benefits of this. Research into flower remedies for emotional support.

Go to a second hand store and pick up a few health related books. Every morning Read a chapter, close the book and while fresh in your mind, write an article or two about the subject on your site, or start writing your own book on the subject in your own words. Spend an hour on it.

    Take a break.

Read another chapter, write another couple articles.

    Take a break.

Get the most important things done, then do a little health forum posting. Work on your site some or do some blog commenting and take a break again.

Do what you can for the day and challenge your self to push it.

At the end of the day write in a journal about what you are thankful about, what happened during the day, your feelings about things, what you learned from your experiences and what you would do differently.

    Best wishes,
    Jeannie

  • Have you tried some affiliate programs that don't cost too much to start with? For sure there are programs like that which aren't too expensive to sign up with. You just need to look around.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Hey man!

First of all, never give up! You may be closer to success than you might be tempted to think. The Internet is huge and the opportunities are vast.

That being said, I would analyze the knowledge you already have and use it as a starting point. You must have learned a lot during the 2.5 years, so make sure to consult your knowledge and creativity to come up with a plan. Then, just stick with until you make it work.

The truth is, most business models do work, but you have to stick to them for a longer period of time to see any progress. You might not make any money the first month or the second month, but sooner or later, you will make that first $1.

Then just replicate what you have done to get there to get to $10. Then $100. Reinvest. Move from mindset to mindset.

My favorite saying is: "Business is the game, money is the points." If you approach IM this way, you won't be scared to invest the money that you have made and grow your business that way.

That being said, you still should approach it as a real business, because that's what it is. It's not any easier to make money on the Internet than offline, it's just a different model.

If you have no clue as to where to start, you can still do some selling on Fiverr or even other outsourcing sites such as Freelancer, Guru. Get hired and sell either knowledge or work.

Best of luck with your IM career!

  • Set up a fiverr gig and tell people how to heal themselves and charge them for follow ups ....

  • treevee, I hope you'd just leverage on your expertise on "natural healing, nutrition, holistic health, detoxification, my life..... " to help people. The world needs healer.

I think you are not getting significant results because you did not focus on what you do best - to help people. You were thinking of how to make money... When can you earn enough money, you need money for this, you need money for that, you don't have money for this and that... money, money, money... People can smell it in your websites if you keep thinking about it in this way.

My believe is, focus on giving yourself to help people and you will be rewarded rightly. Offer your knowledge through blogs, your ebook, Skype sessions, Fiverr, emailing list.... you will be successful. Don't jump around aimlessly, focusing on things you are not even interested in but just because you think the niche is profitable. Stop getting people to write - write what you know, with genuine interest in sharing your knowledge. Stop getting overly concerned about technicalities eg. SEO etc. I know they are important but it's the human beings who are going to spend money buying your products, so put in more effort in helping them with their needs. Participate in forums and offer sound advice, you'll gain your followers.

    Don't give up.

  • Dont give up because you are almost there. Maybe you are experiencing what i was once. I assume that in your 2.5 years you have read and learnt how people make a living online. Its now time you focus on one of them. One of the biggest mistakes done is by trying all.Do one at a time.
    All the best
