I got hops but my site is so small how did I get those hops?

I own GirlyReviews.com and I previously asked internet marketers on here how to improve the site.

They gave me suggestions and my boyfriend is working on learning WordPress so he can change the design so it will have the suggested improvements in it.

But I didn't want to wait till he figures that out to write content for my site so I've written two blog posts and one review so far (under the emotional well being category).

I checked my clickbank stats and I have "hops" which are from countries besides the U.S.A. (where I live) which means I'm getting traffic!!!

Could that just be the internet marketers from warrior forum who reviewed my site or is it likely it came from the search engines?

I thought you had to have several hundreds of articles to get traffic from search engines???

Thanks for any insight you can provide;
Aubrey

You don't need hundreds of articles to get traffic from the search engines. It depends how competitive the keyword is and what type of links you build back to the blog post.

Another thing, don't just use search engines to drive traffic to your blog, use more things like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, article marketing and guest blogging.

    Easily.

To some people, part of "reviewing someone's site" is clicking on their link to check that it's working, and sometimes to see what product they're promoting, whether it's one you think their probable traffic might be interested in, whether they've chosen a product with a "leaky" sales page, and so on. (All too often, when I see threads here in which people are asking "What am I doing wrong? Please look at my site and tell me", when I look at their site and click on their link, it turns out that they're promoting a product with a vendor's opt-in on the sales page, or something unfortunate like that.)

No, this isn't necessarily so at all.

Sometimes people search for something that you weren't even aware of as a keyword.

I have a friend whose marketing blog included a few sentences about some techniques which she says are so heavy-handed and ill-advised that "they'll only make you sound like a used car salesman from the 1950's" (or something similar) and her Google traffic included people searching for terms like "how to sell 1950's cars" (or whatever - nothing to do with her site at all, really). It's always possible that "unexpected visitors" like those can still click on a hoplink, albeit very much less likely that they're ever going to buy the product.

Do you have some sort of "analytics" on your site so that you can see where the traffic's coming from, and (in the case of search engine traffic) what their search-terms were? (It can be very helpful).

Yeah you might well just be getting some long tail keyword traffic.

Just by having words on pages puts you in with a chance of people finding your content when they type in some weird keyword phrase that not one single website on the internet is optimized for, and it just happens that the words in the order on your page make the best fit so Google shows you up there.

So you can still get traffic from these obscure long tail keywords you have never even thought of before, even if you are nowhere to be seen on Google for major keyword terms.

    Put Romania on my tab...

I visited your website a few days ago when you started your first thread and clicked on the banner on the right.
