I'm not sure if this forum is strictly article/website/blog related, but is YouTube permitted? And if so, does anyone have any experience with monetizing it?

Theres not really a way to monetize the video itself, its just traffic generation. You use youtube videos to promote products or cpa offers. Its effective because its easy to get youtube traffic, rather than rank in a search engine.
  • If you can get enough views you can monetize it with Ads.

  • Sits in and take notes...

Perfect timing for a thread like this, just did a search for all the google search results for my site and I've found that in less than a week people are already starting to embed my youtube videos. This is good right, acts as a backlink of some sort would it not?

so how do we take this to the next level.. looking forward to reading through the replies, apologies if I just jacked your thread c-rice

    • Yeah you get a backlink from the embed which seems to help the video rank the more sites have chosen to embed it.

I notice that some of my videos tend to automatically get embedded based on keywords so some sites might have some auto YouTube plugins on there or something based on new videos matching their keywords being added to YouTube.
  • If you properly search for your keywords and create an appropriate video then you can rank it high and will be getting traffic from Youtube and search engines as well that you can send to a related affiliate offer or cpa offer etc. Hope it will help.
  • When you have views you're able to momentize with any program such as adsense and cpa programs.
  • The way to monetize I would suggest is direct the traffic from youtube to your site. It'll be better.

    • I think this great,at the website YouTube, you can attract to flows and thus earn money.
  • I do not have any good ideas as to how directly monetizing from YouTube, but I know that using this to get traffic and views and to rank your website is very helpful. Yes I agree with webpeon there that it is sometimes a great back linking technique.
  • Thanks, this is close to what I was looking for
  • I'd build a list and promote affiliate programs if you do not have your own products. You'd continue to make more money each month as your list grows even if your Youtube traffic stays the same.

More profits all around..and more stable..

  • How do you direct traffic though on YouTube? Is it necessary to have a website?

    • Hey ColouredRice,

One way you can direct your YouTube traffic is..

You can set up a squeeze page, that offers
something for free to the person in exchange
for them to give you their email address and
      join your list..

Then you have a link from your video back to
      this page..

Then you join up with affiliate programs like,
      Clickbank, JVZoo, Warriors Plus..

And find some good products that relate to
      your niche..

As you build trust with your list of subscribers
by sending them quality information, you then
send them recommendations for these products
to help them solve problems, avoid pain etc..
  • How do you promote affiliate programs? I'm not very familiar with internet marketing at all :/ I'm a complete newbie
  • I think my thread got hijacked somewhere along the way ._.

  • You tube videos are a great way to gain exposure. There is one site of mine that gets over 50% of its traffic via my you tube movies. Also, you can make more money through ad sense also, but the big money is getting people who come to your site to purchase products or services.

  • Youtube is very much helpful for attracting traffic and convey long messages with entertainment. A good youtube video can do much more than any other types of advertisement.
  • Some people join an affiliate program for a certain product, think of something a person close to buying that product will Google (abc review) and use that as the title for a video, and then place an affiliate link.

In such a case the law would probably require that you indicate that the link you placed is an affiliate link.
  • I think the best way to sale with youtube is put a link to your squeeze page in the descriptions. But I got 2 problems here: how I make a viral video (I mean video has a lot of views maybe 10,000 views, after 1 days) and how I make a good squeeze page?
    • [1] reply
    • Viral is a product of either a video that is shared exponentially (usually funny or relevant to current events in a unique way) or um, there are other ways to get views and manipulate the viral. I am not a squeeze page expert, so I will not comment on that.

  • Hmmm...interesting points so far, thanks a lot. How would I promote my YouTube channel? What type of channel would be best?
  • You can promote your YouTube channel a few different ways:

    1. Send to your social media outlets: Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Blog posts, etc.

    2. You can purchase ads through Adsense and pay to have traffic directed to your channel.

    3. Cross promote. Find another YouTuber who has a Channel that is complimentary to yours or even a friend or someone who would be willing to add your Channel in their "Featured Channel" section. You can do them a favor by adding their Channel to your Featured Channel section as well.

    4. If you have great content and you find people subscribing to your channel that will also help promote your channel because it will show up in your subscriber's video feeds.

    5. Other than that, simply keep pumping great videos out and YouTube will also start showing them as "related" videos. A huge number of traffic on one of my channels comes from the YouTube related videos feature.

The type of Channel really depends on what you are trying to do. If you don't have a website and are just promoting affiliate offers than you should make your Channel around an offer. For example, if you have a lower back pain relief product you would make a channel specifically for that niche. I think it was Kurt that said he likes to make a channel around a problem and then link to an affiliate offer.

If you had a website you would want to create a Channel with great videos about your product/services and have a link to your website right on your channel and in all your descriptions.
