Is "review" a good buying keyword for a pair of shoes?

I am getting some traffic for a pair of athletic sneakers with the keyword "[product name] review", but no sales yet. It's still not many clicks, but I am starting to get worried that either my review is bad or they are not in a buying mode. I do get a decent number of clicks through to the merchant, though. What do you think?

  • I don't usually go with the review keywords when promoting shoes. What I do focus on, however, are discounts. High Heel Discounts! Or Whacka-Widget Discounts.

I know if they are searching for discounts, they are ready to buy, they just want to save some money!

  • Without seeing your website or the merchant's page, it could be a price thing. People like to shop around for the cheapest price. You may want to look at listing a number of websites comparing prices to help push the merchant you are promoting (it would be best if all merchants have affiliate accounts).
  • Hiya!

I'm gonna have to agree with BloggingPro - When people search for "product name" review.. they are still in the research stage of buying therefore a slight change in keyword may make a world of difference!

  • I agree with posts above; "reviews" can help buyers to decide most especially if they are looking for comfort and other specs. You can up your game here if you can include coupons or discounts...
  • I disagree, we are seeing good conversions with the review word on products.

Many folks will run a final product review just before they buy. That being said you need to check your traffic and if high then check your price and site.

When selling on a web site there are many bases to cover.

I suggest you split test to see if your review terms are really causing the issue.

    I hope this helps,
