I listed a site on Flippa last week, auction ends in 22 hours. So far, no bids.

I listed it as $1000 reserve, $3000 buy it now which was well within the range that I think it is worth and that other people (here and on digital point) have suggested it is worth.

Is there anything special I should be doing on Flippa to get more attention? It has only been viewed about 90 times so far which seems low to me.

I've never used Flippa before so maybe I've made some sort of newbie mistake?

Hard to say without seeing it.

You could always buy some cheap traffic that is business targeted to send to the auction page. Some sites sell 10k visitors for 11-12 bucks. Could be enough to get some business people interested.

EDIT: Sorry didn't realize you had the link in your sig.

Ok, after checking out your site I think people are scared off by your low earnings on the site. Sure it has a lot of potential but for that kind of money people want to see better results.

You could probably sell it for 500 to 1k as it is now. I would do a search for what other sites have sold for and their relative income to give you a better idea of where you are at.

    Hi,

What is the selling point of your website?

You can try to post your selling point on the comments to attract viewers.

      What do you mean exactly?

I listed the income it is currently generating as well as some of the potential it has if the owner runs it properly (which I haven't had time for recently).

What other selling points would there be?

It is an active forum site with thousands of members and stuff which I know some people are very interested in owning. It is a lot of fun as well, but I just don't have time for it personally.

Also...Would it be smart to add in something like a suggestion for the new owner? For example, I've always thought it would be a good idea to add in a section about making money online in more 'legit' ways (similar to what people on WF do). I think that could expand the audience a lot as well as give current members more value.

Thanks. I just adjusted the price to accept $500 as the minimum. It's worth more than that I'm sure but I need some money now and I don't have the time to put into that site to boost it's earnings.

    Hopefully that will help some.

One more quick question on Flippa. Do sites tend to get a lot more attention near the end of the auction like they do on eBay? I know you can sort the sites by 'ending soon', does that often help?

    Thanks again.

Absolutely. There is always people looking for deals and they will stalk all the auctions that are near ending.

    Couple of things:

    1. In your previous thread, you mentioned the net profit was anywhere from $40 - $800 per month with the average around $100. On Flippa, your net profit average for the last 3 months is $44.

    2. Your flippa listing is just blocks of text. You need to treat it as a salespage. Here is an example of one of my listings - https://flippa.com/2725412-70-per-mo...-earnings-pr-1

    3. Most of your visitors will come during the last 24 hours of your auction, so hopefully you will get a bidder.

Best of luck with your auction!

I got a big red flag when I saw -
Seller does not accept Escrow payment.

Talk about once burned twice shy,
but this is a big one.

Also mike sold a site that makes $70 adsense for $900.
Whereas you want to sell a site that makes $30 for $3,000.00 - GOOD LUCK!

Yeah. It had made $800 a month a few times previously, and often more than $100-300 but in the last 12 months it hasn't done as well due to a combination of factors (including that I haven't put as much time into it as I used to). Over the past 4 years I'd estimate the average income was $100 per month, maybe a little more. Over the past 12 months it was $44 per month.

I'll see if I can't update it to be more sales copy. I guess I didn't realize I needed to do that, which was stupid on my part.

      Thanks!

I've never heard of/used escrow.com when I set up the auction. If it helps people bid more confidently I can set that up.

I set my price based on the recommendation of others. The site does get decent traffic as well which I think is worth something. Apparently I am wrong though, lol.

      Thanks!

You have to use Escrow as the payment option. That is very important to the buyers. I will not deal with any seller not accepting escrow payment. If you need help with some real traffic, please let me know.
