Site traffic increasing, still no $; Advice?

I started my blog in mid-May and up until a few days ago I averaged only about 200-300 visitors per day. I am now getting more like 1000-1200 per day but that still has not translated into any $. Adsense has been at $0; chitika $0, Amazon, I was able to sell one book but that is hardly anything. I have CJ ads on my site but same thing-$0-over 1200 impressions but not one click. Maybe I need many more visitors to make any money or maybe I am doing something wrong. Do you have any insights or advice? If your site was getting many more people, how would you try to capitalize on the traffic boost? Thanks.

Try to increase your visitor number and also try other method like selling on impressions basis instead of PPC, also update your blog more regularly to make it more sticky.

All I can tell you from the information that you provided is that something does not add up.

First, that is a lot of visitors for a new blog. The average blog gets essentially no visitors. So why are you getting so many? Are these real visits from real people who are really interested in your content? If so, wonderful. If not, then there is no one there to convert to anything.

Second, assuming these are real visitors and not bots or some other aberration, there should be some clicks on Adsense. It is not possible that there are not any clicks. That is not how Adsense works.

People like to click things. They have twitchy fingers and have nothing else to do in their dull existence and they click, click, click. And Adsense is one thing that they click.

So, either your ads are not set up properly or they are not placed where anyone can see them.

As far as CJ or anything else, who knows. Some things just don't sell. One thousand impressions or two thousand impressions doesn't tell you anything.

Not enough information really for anyone to give you a good answer. But it sounds like your traffic is either not targeted or that the offers are no good/not targeted enough for the traffic you're generating...

Is your blog in the "I refuse to use my credit card online" niche? Something definitely doesn't add up. We need more info...

You can have so much traffic!! thats good. There must be something your readers like about your blog. You can have a survey to ask them to find out more and work on those areas.

I agree with other posters. Either you need better affiliate products or the traffic is not targeted. Are you using something to track where your traffic is coming from like Google Analytics, Stat Counter, etc? Maybe try switching up the offers and definitely start tracking if you haven't already. Good luck!

There are some niches that simply do not add up to clicks and cash. I have a blog in the celebrity niche, which gets a couple of thousand views a day and yet just makes a few dollars a day from Adsense and Amazon. Another blog in the women's health niche gets less than 50 views a day and yet makes around $30 most days.

The reason for the major increase in traffic is that I have been blogging...alot...about a major news story. Using getclicky, I noticed that I had coming up in the top 10 google searches for certain keywords/phrases so I kept writing more and more about those topics. The traffic seems to be new visitors as opposed to unique visitors. I have had a few clicks, over the past fews days, on adsense but nothing on days like today when the traffic is at its highest, and that is what did not seem to make sense.

I think news stories can be hard to convert (a bit like celeb traffic). I have got huge spikes of traffic by blogging about stories on Google Trends, but then not many clicks. I suppose the visitors get their news and then go. What about if you change the theme to use an ad friendly design. You can Google or search this forum for some good themes for getting more clicks.

I noticed that I had five clicks on adsense but for some reason, the amount of cash generated was 0.

They may not consider them real clicks, or may not have been full click-throughs.
All that work though, certainly a bummer. Dont give up though, I am sure you will find something.
