List building advice please

The book image is very amateurish and the title totally uninspiring.

There is no 'what's in it for me' message.

No over-riding benefit laden headline
to inspire.

The audio player is barely noticable.

What kind of conversion are you getting from visit to subscribe?

All those things should be easy to fix.

I have the wonderful Di Heuser helping me now and thinks are improving daily.

The honest answer is I dont know to your last question. getting google analyticals to actually work is high on my agenda... I had a redesign done a while ago and the designer said the design of the site is custom made....... its also custom bloody hard to get much to work on it now...
Di is going to help revamp the site ie removing the blog from the front page. I appreciate what you say re the book cover and would love a recommendation if anyone knows a good book cover designer

However:

1. I would go for a better e-book cover
2. Also use a plugin like pop up domination so your e-book will be the first thing your visitor will see
-Or-

- Put the e-book on a separate page, and drive traffic directly to that page. Sometimes when there are several things going on at your website - your visitor sometimes will not know what to do because there is so many things going on at once.

List building often works better when the visitor is driven to a page that only allows them to join your list.

Fanpage: Make a tab that has a cover of your ebook, and have that displayed automatically when visitors come to your fanpage. I recommend having it the second tab after photos.

You can also drive traffic directly to the url of that tab as well.

Are you making any money from the 200 subscribers you have? Why are you making people have to click to reach your ebook autoresponder form? Put the form on the front page of your site. How much money are you willing to invest into advertising? It needs to be alot.

My antivirus went crazy when I went to one of those sites.

well now you have a list, find out what your list likes or what they need and then create a product for them

you could even set up an affiliate program so that other people drive you traffic to your product to build your list

building your list is all well and good but you have to have some kind of funnel for everyone to go through

unless you have a good sals funnel already set up and you have a clear laid out plan on exactly what your going to do with your subscribers, generating more people into your list won`t be very productive

i looked at your fb page and it looks fine but your other page gave me a "threat warning" so it was blocked by my comp

if you havent already got products of your own in your funnel i would create some and then you can progress from there

Create a seperate (squeeze) page just for the ebook. Your site is nice but not for the purpose of getting subscribers.. There are too many distractions.

Also there should be an opt-in box at the top above where says "Send My Copy" instead of making people click to then see the opt-in box.

A few suggestions..

- At the end of your blog posts, you (in most of the posts atleast) have a call to action which says something like "Connect with me on Facebook", but nothing about your email list- probably why you have 3k fans and 200 subs.. Focus more on your list.

- Create an actual squeeze page for your newsletter that focuses solely on it and promote it throughout your blog (on the side bar, at the end of every posts, etc..)..

- Use a Facebook tab to promote your newsletter signup form as well and have the tab the first one displayed after the "Photos" tab so that your Facebook fans can find it easily..

- The copy is more important than the ecover. Like the others above said, what does your freebie actually do for the visitor?

- Your list is more important than Facebook fans, so redesign your site to get subscribers instead of Facebook fans. Once you have subscribers, it is easy to turn them into Facebook fans, or Twitter followers, etc..

Build a twitter feed (customize it with your site's look and feel so everything is consistent with your overall brand) and set up a tool that that posts Happiness/Self-improvement/Self-Awareness quotes on the #quotes channel. Put your list squeeze page link on there. Promote your twitter feed on your site and on your mail outs.

Your main site doesn't clearly and effectively grab the reader by the eyeballs and in less than 3 seconds convey your value proposition. Remember, Net users have ADHD, you have to hit them in a very short amount of time or they will bounce out of your site quicker than a Justin Bieber fan gets beaten down in a Slayer concert.

yep I think you could Improve the E-book cover & a big benefit inside "send my copy" page.

something that will tell them like: "Hey guys, the **** is good for you because **** and it can also do ***** so grab it now while it is still *****"

ps re the virus I had a few notes telling me there was a virus on my site but I had the woman that does my hosting check it over plus she asked the technical dudes to check it and nada

my computer had the security sheild vrus a while ago and super antispyware was able to get rid of it

I have had this message from other ! I am really sorry but I have asked a few technical genuis to look at it and the assure me there is no virus on my website........ so I am bloody stuck as I have no idea but if you read the top of this message Mike Hill also says its not my site thats doing it

Your site looks fine to me.

You could do some changes like:

-Automatic start of the audio when somebody lands on your homepage.

-Make your free report more compelling to your visitors
( change colours, cover, etc. )

-Like some already suggested- a separate capture page popping out...
and some stuff like that.

-May be create a whole different capture page to get people to, instead of your site.
etc.

But what you need to concentrate more on, is gettin traffic to that site to
build your list.

It's not that much the design or whatever. Traffic is what you need.

From what I saw, you don't have that much traffic going to your site.

Nice site. Can you scale the process you used to get your 200 subscribers. I would start there.

List building is my long back dream from years & now I apply it via squeeze pages, sales pages, swaps etc.

The one real advantage is a bigger list gets you more traffic & then you have the opportunity for conversion more quickly & with more ease coz you can convince a big list well.
