I am a content writer - article submission question

I just registered to this forum to say thanks! This forum has helped me a lot.

I have a question as I can write a lot of content, am new to SEO and want to know the best strategy...

Is it better for me to
1. Add lots of content to my site (aprox 15,000 words a month) only, or,
2. To post the articles to my site first and then share them on different article directories?

If number 2 is the best option, which sites should I post them on?

Also, when I write an article, what is the best thing in the eyes of Google (so they think your blog is being read etc?). Social bookmarking them?

I'm looking forward to learning more from this website...

Thanks again!

Well, it depends on what you're trying to do. (In any case, though, there'd be not much point in submitting it to many different article directories). Bear in mind that the purpose of article directories is for publishers to find copies of your articles, when they're looking for content. That's who those copies are for - not for potential customers.

For all the reasons explained in this post, no article marketer would want to be having their potential customer traffic reaching their own site from an article directory.

This post (and its links) will tell you most of what you want to know, I think: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5068872

Ooh, that is a lot of content (and more than I've ever added to any of my sites). Nothing wrong with that, at all, but don't forget that quality's worth far more than quantity, both for attracting traffic and for attracting backlinks, too.

I put all mine in Ezine Articles (because it's where most publishers look for content), and that's by far the best established and most well-known article directory.

I also put most of them in either GoArticles or ArticlesBase too (mostly from habit - I really don't think it benefits me much, if at all) just because I don't like having them in only one directory ("eggs and baskets").

But always after you've published them and had them indexed on your own site first, so that your own site, and not an article directory, is the cumulative beneficiary of all those initial indexations. Some day when you have plenty of time, have a quick read through this long thread, in which countless article marketing experts explain all their shared reasons for always doing it this way round: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...eza-first.html

    And welcome to the forum.
