I suggest read the rules, I don't suggest proceeding without reading the rules.

    Have fun! = )

    Read the rules.

Pay attention. For example, if nobody is using special symbols (such as •) in their sig (you're not, this is just an example), then there's probably a reason.

    Participate.

    Use the search function.

As long as you are being honest, have a good attitude and good intentions, you have very little to worry about.

Oh yeah, and sometimes posts get deleted. If this happens to you, don't re-post, and don't take it personally.

Yep, that should be enough to get you going.

    All the best,
    Michael

I am new to this forum, but not to forums in general.

This is not a rule but it is something that really gets my goat.

When new members to a forum start going into thread after thread and posting.

      "I agree"

      or

      "great answer"

      etc. etc. etc.

just to get their posts to a point where you can add a link or PM people.

With that said. if you are the OP then you should, by all means, thank respnders for good info.

      but that is just me

          Correct, not a good idea.

          # Is Putting any external link in thread/post is a must no..no...
If you are linking to a helpful resource, and it is NOT self-promotional, AND you make it clear that you are NOT affiliated with the company, AND you have a good reason for recommending the link, then you MAY be able to post it without worry.

However, Warriors are a pretty smart bunch and we can see through people trying to game the system.

#if I can post links in my signature....
This is covered in the rules. Read them.

As long as it is YOUR site, and NOT an affiliate link, you should be okay.

          Your comments are highly appreciated..
Here's what it comes down to: contribute to the forum and add value wherever you can. Don't pimp out your sig...someone will notice and someone will report it.

If you participate and add value, people will naturally want to check out your sig. Don't force it. Give it time. Give us some time to get to know you.

          All the best,
          Michael

Don't promote your Sig in your OPs.

This is something that a lot of people have problems understanding, never take it personal and dont make a thread asking why it got deleted. If could be as simple as it's in the wrong place and the admins dont have the time to message everyone telling them why the post was deleted.

    Also join the war-room.

Another thing is really make the title to the thread specific as you can so that the right people will read it.

    Welcome

I would recommend definitely searching around for what you need. I can all but guarantee you'll find the answer without having to ask, especially in all the sticky threads in each forum.

I think you might want to re-read the rules yourself. "Don't spam" is NOT the only rule here -- indeed, it's not even the first rule.

Don't confuse post count with knowledge/expertise. Also, as others have said above, definitely use the "search" function of the forum because there is lots of great information that you can find.

    Read the stickies.

Use the search before starting a new thread.

    Do use "thanks" button.

Do not post a reply just to say "thanks".

It seems like you're here to learn and to teach, so you're already coming into it with the right attitude.. each and every person here (whether they're a total noob or an established guru, or anywhere in between) has something they're good at and, I'd guess, something they're not. For example, I consider myself to be a pretty good programmer (and people involved in the opensource projects I've contributed to would agree with me on that), but I'd be the wrong person to ask about email marketing and I know very little about search engine optimization.

We're all here to help each other and to learn from each other. Keep that in mind and read the rules, and you should be fine.
