Hi Warriors,

What days/times do you think would be the best time to post on Craigslist? What are your experiences, etc?

TIA!

I post all my business ads on a daily basis between the hours of 8am-4pm and I get pretty good conversions.

    All the best,

    Martin

I've spent a lot of time posting on CL the past 2 months(at least 100 ads a day in one specific section).

I've noticed absolutely no pattern in the responses to my ads. It could be different for each person depending on the section/what you're advertising.

CL is flooded with ads and, in my opinion, it is starting to become about the quality of your ads(not the quantity)that will determine your success. If someone is searching for something specific, they will find you with the search function instead of scrolling through a sea of spam.

If you're advertising services, it's best not to advertise after 6pm. After 6pm, you tend to get hobbyists and people that are curious and time wasters.

It`s great to use CL as a way to get more exspoure but my advice is not to put all your time and eggs into one basket. Cl is full of people who get trigger happy with the flag/report button. So your best bet is to work hard on other places to advertise and spend a little of time on Cl. Or go over to fiverr and get some people to make ads on CL for you for a simple 5 dollars.

I thin craigslist is still the best otherwise you can give olx and usclassfiedads a trial.

Want your CL ads to be "sticky"? Here's what you do...

Major US cities such as Boston, LA, Chicago, etc. let your ads stay up for only 7 days. As you know, they get pushed off the page pretty quickly. Here's an option:

Try posting an ad in 2nd tier cities within a major geo area. I'll use Chicago for an example. There's areas outside of Chicago such as Peoria, IL. Ads posted in these 2nd tier cities stay up for a whopping 45 DAYS! Link below for Craigslist TOS (NO Aff. link)

      craigslist | about > help > faq

This is great for getting backlinks INDEXED in Google. If you're doing offline marketing then get a toll free number and put that in your CL title. You could also get a Google Voice number with the proper area code for the 2nd tier city/town and make you look local too.

Obviously, if you're just doing general postings to drive traffic this will help too as your ads stay up and again, get indexed. Just be sure to change up the ad so they don't look the same.

So post daily for your major metro area and then post every 30 days outside metro areas so those ads get indexed due to staying up for 45 days.

      Good luck!
      Dennis

        Hi Everyone,

Thank you Dennis and everyone for all your great advice. I just wanted to update and let you know that I seem to be seeing a trend where people respond on the weekends...so hopefully that might help someone, webdesign and real estate.

I would say it depends on what you are posting and what section you are posting in, for example when I post in housing, I get my best responses at nights and weekends, when I post in the jobs section I get a better response in the morning. I use craigslistadtracker so I can track the view and click through rates of my ads and I can watch as the views go up and down during the day, if you haven't used it, try it out, great tool!

It's getting harder and harder to get noticed on CL. I used to get about 10 real responses to my services per day. Now I'm lucky to get 1 real response every 2-3 weeks. Real bummer. I ordered a book the other day in hopes that it will inspire me to think outside the box.
