I bounce between TPG and EFTEL
at the moment I am with eftel.

EFTel - Australian Internet Service Provider ISP, Broadband ADSL
TPG Internet

G'day Pat,

Not sure what your bandwidth needs are, but I've been with AAPT for a few years and they've been quite reliable.

I'm on the 20 gig ADSL2 plan which at least until recently has been enough for me. But over the coming weeks I may need to up it to the 50gb one.

Or I'll probably consider TPG's offerings which seem to be pretty good (value-wise) too - especially with some of the off-peak hours I work.

Google the local Whirlpool Broadband forum and you'll get a great indication of what's available and also what users think about the service. (I'd place the link here but i'm a newbie and it seems we can't put direct links until we're 'proven legit' )

  I am with TPG DSL2, 70GB plan. (They recently (6 months) upgraded their quotas for the same price if you're on an old plan, have a look).
  
  I have been using them for 10+ years, their service is great but they connection is so so. They have their own DSL2+ network, I had a few issues with them at the start syncing etc, but that might be my phone line, plus I am a fair distance from the exchange.
  
  Value for money you can't go wrong.
  
  Otherwise I can highly recommend Internode.

i am with opyus but looking to move. I am thinking TPG. i have a 30gig limit, the speed is capped when i go over it. but i can download 30G in 2-3 days i really have to watch my self. i will be interested to see what info this thread turn out

Yeah mate that's what I'm currently on. I don't know why they won't go any higher than 30gb.

I am also with tpg adsl with a 400 gig peak time and 100 gig offpeak and I think is $65. I do most of my downloading in off peak.

wow that TPG download amount is HUGE!

Is that adsl2? What speeds?

I am with iinet naked adsl, 100g limit, very very fast. I found a site a little while back that ranked the isps by speed/location, iinet was up there but I think TPG was even faster...

Will definitely consider TPG next time it comes to change plans.

That sounds like a good plan.

Unless you really necessarily need the extra quota, you would be better off staying.

When you switch ISPs it could be a hit and miss as it's not always their fault. Even if it is, you have to painstakingly go through their help desk to isolate the problem. (This is almost always frustrating.)

My Son is on Naked too and it is pretty good. I think it has better speeds than TPG but it all depends which exchange youn are close too.

I am with Westnet $89 a month bundled with the phone
25 peak and I think another 35 off peak but I set it to $6 a gig for overs to avoid shaping.
I never went over the limit untill I started down loading movies

Hi Pat,

We're with iinet. Couldn't tell you what plan we're on, but whatever it is, it allows for a lot of high speed downloading. Very happy with iinet, and we've been with just about every ISP there is.

Another vote for Internode here. Great reliability, and a human being on the other end of the phone if you call for support. Internode - a decent selection of plans, there may be something suitable for you.

Hello Pat

It really depends where you live and what's available in your area. I suggest you contact each of the above providers and ask about the best deal available for you. Some providers offer you a better deal if you bundle your home number, mobile etc..

I use Eftel, simply because they offer the best deal and option in my area. $79 a month including free local calls, national calls capped at $2.95 for up to 2 hours, 25gig peak and 25gig off peak. I know there are other providers out there who have much better deals but they don't service the blue mountains. Eftel technical support is great and no contract so I can cancel anytime.
