To create an effective follow-up sequence I normally
work backwards from the main product that I want
    the subscribers to buy.

I then extract the information I can give away in the
follow-up series and provide reasons why people should
    purchase the main product.

I also include some personal stuff to build my credibility
and begin to build the relationship with subscribers.

    Dedicated to mutual success,

david, one thing that i do which works really well is explain more about myself in the first email, this helps my subscribers to get to know me a bit better which builds some instant credibility

i also give them a link to my "about me" page on my blog too to get even more information about me

i always email new subscribers everyday for the first week with some new juicy content every day and doing this also helps to condition my subscribers to opening my emails

after about a week i do something like 2,2,3,3,4,4,4,4,4,4

don`t worry too much about having lots of follow ups in place at first as you can add new follow ups as you go

your sales funnels get developed over time so take it one step at a time

everyones list is different though so you do have to do tests yourself to see what works for you

hmm.. my followup sequence is all over the place. I do not have any proper followup sequence as I feel that I can create a variety of email types each time the emails are sent out.

    Hey Davipet,

It's a good thing to treat your list
how you would like to be treated..

    Give them good information/tips, maybe
    you could critique sporting performance
of the teams or individuals in the sports you are
    promoting..

People buy from you if they trust you,
they get to trust you because they know and
    like you..

    Be yourself when you communicate..

I recently read a post and the OP inculded
a small joke at the end of each email..

He said that some of his subscribers had
been on his list for 3-4 years..

I've seen other posts where people say the
average "life span" of a subscriber on their list
    is 3-6 months..

Hope that gives you some ideas..

    Hi Davipet,

Yeah I would just take that first step and get at least one piece of quality
information out there that can benefit people on your list.

Test the results with tracking from your clickthroughs in your autoresponder,
    Google analytics etc etc.

Don't think about it too long please as this will only delay and overwhelm you
when it comes to taking that vital first step. I take it you already have an autoresponder
    service I guess?

I use GetResponse if you were wondering where to find one and Aweber are
always getting rave reviews here at the forum. You can literally have an set of
10 messages set up ready to go out in just days if you set apart some time for
yourself without any interruptions and distractions.

Just take that first and you will not regret it I can assure you my friend

Good luck and all the best my friend!!!

      thanks everybody.

The main reason I need to improve follow up sequence is to improve the open rate of my messages on Aweber. Probably I don't create quite confidence on my prospect.

But what is a good open rate - click rate on aweber messages ? Of course it depends on the market and the frequency of email, but in one of my blog these are always under 20% (and just information email, not sales pitch).

      It's normal?
For improve that I must work on relationship and subject of email?

      thanks

I joined Frank Kern's mailing list and he mentioned subject header such as :

        1. "YooOOoOoo", open rate is 18%
        2. someone used subject line like, "OH HELL, YES.." has 31% open rate
        3. "Dude" and "Hey" are his two best converting email subject lines.

Give it a try. I'm going to try out too.

Yes, building relationship is essential. For me, I lead them to my blog, where I share tips, personal thoughts and experiences. Let them feel and know your existance.

        I hope these helps.

        Cheers.
