Flippa Auction suspiciouns

I entered my first auction on flippa to buy a web site.

I waited until auction was an hour till it ended, and made my bid.

Then I learned they always add 4 hours in these cases which is understandable..

A few bids later I was once again on top...As I waited for the 4 hours to expire once again, the web site even was telling me something like "You are the winning bidder, if X hrs pass you will win the auction!" (Where X was 2-3 hrs...Then I left my house and it was down to 25 minutes)

So sure enough time elapses, and no one bids....

Guess what? They add another 4 hours tp the auction....Was somebody manipulating the system somehow?

I emailed support but they are closed, and the auction is now getting more heated.

I can't say for sure without looking, but I would imagine someone made a bid (which will automatically extend the auction) but the seller hasn't accepted it.

That would explain why you think there are no new bids but the auction is extended.

    It's not a manipulation.
That happens when there are many bids waiting for approval, and the owner of the auction approve or refuse bids that are lower than you.
Still add 4 hours to the auction.

There's no way to manipulate the system except for shill bidding, which would be creating other accounts or having friends bid on your auction to keep the bidding going up.
