What is/are your browser homepage and why

Mine is huffingtonpost. The reason is that, the first info I want to know before doing my daily routine is news. And another one is bleacherreport. Checking NBA news first before anything else... How about you and why?

I use Chrome, and mine opens to the page that shows the 8 most commonly-opened sites.

When SEC Football starts up in 36 days, it'll either be Saturday Down South - SEC Football News & Commentary, ESPN, or Yahoo! Sports' College Football section.

I like the regular google homepage combined with a plugin that makes new tabs always open to my home page.
That way anytime I need to search for anything or just need a quick link to email or any other google product I can just pop a new tab open and I'm on my way.

I use iGoogle, which for those that don't know is a google search page that you can customise with lots of different widgets.

Unfortunately Google are discontinuing iGoogle towards the end of next year, So I'll have to choose a new home page when that happens.

Yup, I use igoogle too. I used it for years but once it goes I am going to have to find a new destination. Maybe just google or a news site. Who knows but for now igoogle is my home.

I use Chrome and use the Speed Dial2 plugin which has links to the most visited pages like

    - 2 News sites
    - 2 Weather maps of my city
    - My main social media sites
    - The login pages of all of my blogs
    - My support system
    - Gmail
    - My bank
    - Imgur and Wikisend for fast file sending
    - Skype
    - Warrior forum (and forums from other niches)
    - My shopping cart login page
    - Some fun sites (games, art, music etc..)
    - eReader
    - My to-do manager (currently using Kanbanflow.com)
    - A few other things

I also use another plugin called 'Stay Focused' which I have set up to block all of the time-wasting sites when I am trying to get things done. It locks you out of those sites for the amount of time you specify

Seems to work for me, but I am always tweaking how my computer is setup for my business. I have so many "Operations tweaks" I could write a book about them lol..

Even I don't use IE frequently & I forget that my device has it installed

My perfect browsing partner is Google Chrome updated with SEO plugins, alexa rank tracker & many more. (You can simply go in extensions to install them free btw)

For Firefox, It seems to take more time than chrome comparatively.

Google, always, for the past five years.

The reason, I Google things probably a lot more than any person reasonably should. I also don't like to frequent the same websites for my news-type information, so I like to see which ones are highest on the search engine for the particular topic that I'm looking for.

Time is money. It's all about productivity and squeezing every available minute out of every work day and minimising effort and stress

I am finding some potential with this speed dial. Even though I have been using Opera since incepetion, never paid attention to this feature (don't remember when it came about..) I like gmail preview (quick grab of what my inbox looks like) and facebook alerts (requests, notifications, etc) extensions and so I can add a few more sites and it will show me the preview in a sort of thumbnail on that page.. sounds interesting

As an old HTML type, I had to create my own home page. It's local on my harddrive and contains 100 px wide logos/links to my most oft-used websites: Google, Image Search, Maps, GMail, Google Analytics, Google Reader, Bing Maps, Yahoo Mail, EBay, PayPal, Flickr, Craigslist, Wikipedia, Amazon, Ameritrade, Yahoo Finance, Big Charts and so forth. Actually, I started with just that home page, and found myself adding so many new links I had to expand to additional pages, basically creating a personal home site. I put links to these pages in a row across the bottom. They include My Sites, Blogs, Shopping, Marketing, News, etc (WF is under "Marketing", BTW). Adding/subtracting logos/links is easy. I started using MS FrontPage for this long ago and now that's about all I use it for.

On IE it's the Toshiba home page. It stinks, but that was the default page on my computer. I don't care enough to change it because I only reboot my computer about once a week, and sometimes less frequently than that.

With broadband connections, it only takes a second or two to open a new page anyway, so the idea of a browser homepage doesn't seem to have the same relevance it once did.

In Chrome it's the default Chrome page that shows my most-visited sites, and I do use that. BUT...I typically only use Chrome for about 5 sites.

Also, right now I have 3 tabs open in IE, 2 in Chrome, 6 text files, 7 folders, 7 Word documents, 5 Skype chats, 1 calculator, and 2 PDF files. Not sure why that matters, but I hardly give any thought to my browsers' homepages.

    All the best,
    Michael

Plan to have a project management tab at some point.

This is highly effective and efficient for me. I start my day by looking at my stats, results and payment accounts.

It's simple to do. Just create an HTML page, organize it using tables, etc... and then copy/paste the link from the location on your computer. Usually starts with file:///C:/Users/Owner...
