Amazon products on craigslist

I have been an amazon affiliate for quite some time now. I havent really made any success with my niche website. But thats only because I havent focused on making more blog posts in it and adding content.

But I was wondering if I could make some dough posting products on craigslist. I started doing it today.

Who has done it?

Thanks,
Anna

How would you work it - post the product and then have your affiliate link there? Or send your affiliate link to the person when they email you?

I've found that CL users are often looking for a bargain, so I'm not convinced you'll find success at market-value products. Maybe on Amazon's used goods side of things, but do affiliates earn on used items?

Well, i started putting products up today. I put my affiliate link in the word here to get people to click. The way I started was I put bargain items. Products that were 50% percent off and up. I dont know if it will work but I gotta try.

Although I've never tried advertising Amazon products on Craigslist, I've had excellent results from classified ads in newspapers and display ads in targeted magazines. Adding a phone number can significantly increase conversion rates, as well as provide a customer base for selling additional products.

Nothing wrong with experimentation We have a rule about experiments: they mustn't take up more than 10% of your work time in a day. If you're spending 90% on productive work that you know will get you money, then the 10% is wiggle room.

      aivzdog....

How did it work out so far?

When I first joined Amazon Associates, I tried out CraigsList but it didn't pan out so I stuck with the conventional methods.

Im interested to learn how you have gone about doing this? From what I understand, posting amazon links on craiglist is against their TOS? How do you go about getting around this?

Joseph is right. Not only will your ads start getting flagged but they will also get ghosted. If there are enough complaints, you will find your Amazon account banned as well.

Would it be safer to direct them from the ad to a sales page or review site of some kind instead of putting the affilate link in the ad outright?

Possibly. However, you will still get flagged enough to start having your ads ghosted.

I agree you are likely to get in trouble with this method.

You can absolutely direct traffic, that's what it's all about really in the end. Get traffic to your own site or blog and turn THAT into an amazon sale, nothing wrong with that.

How do you actually get conversions though? Whenever I have been on craigslist if i see a link almost always immediately click away. I just cant see craiglist having a high conversion rate if any at all. I don't think I would be able to justify working on craigslist add for such meager returns, my time would probably be better spent elsewhere.

The problem I have with these types of questions is that I can answer them, but if I have to answer them then you just aren't thinking about this enough on your own.

However, a quick example. Let's say your website sells / talks about snoozlemabobs. You post an ad on CL asking if anyone sells a specific snoozlemabob such as the one listed via your link. You can even contact CL posters who are selling such snoozlemabobs to verify they are the same.

It's not exactly the most honest way of marketing but it can work.

Hi , I have not done, but I have read successfull and terible histories from doing it. I just figure out it depends on waht you are offering and who is looking for what you are selling. I think taht you could get some dough since millions of people visit that site, looking for the cheapest items in the world BUT if you find the way to profit from your stuff, you could get a new bussiness. The best thig you are doing is to try it

    Cheers!
