What free item should I give on my squeeze page

Hello,

I want to start a squeeze page from my Lifetime With Dogs Blog (Lifetime With Dogs) but I am not sure what to give away...any ideas?

Also, should I use aweber?

Anna

An ebook is the easiest way to go. Some people do that or video books. Aweber is the best one to start, but if you don't have a lot of money, you can start with Mail Chimp which is free.

Yes, you should use Aweber. It's the best service for mass email distribution. The most common item that people give away is an ebook or report. For example, give away a report like, "The Top 7 Things EVERY Dog Owner Should Know." Make sure that you only give away the report after they opt-in.

How do I set it up that they will get it? Do I have to manually send it to each person who opts in?

Or is there some template I can use that is free to set up a squeeze page?

No, when you sign up with an auto responder company. It manages all of your opt ins by sending them pre created emails that you wrote earlier in the campaign. Aweber is $1 for the first month...but seriously consider the MailChimp because it IS free.

However, Aweber will send your emails automatically. MailChimp makes you create each email that you want to send to your group, until you use the paid version.

As far as the squeeze pages, I found this one, Free Squeeze Pages be warned..I did not look very good at it.

If you are wanting to create squeeze pages and make this site something that you really want to make money with spring for Optimize Press.

You're talking about registering with Aweber? Then, yes.

Well, Aweber will create an account for you to send from. As far as starting a lot of sites, just remember that it takes a lot of time to get them noticed.

I would think that most people would be interested in learning how to train their dogs or puppies. So you could either search for an e-book that you can purchase and give away, or you could create an e-book of your own about training puppies. You will just have to do some research first, so you have all the information you will need to put into the e-book.

While that email will work, people will see you as more of a professional if you have an email address with your own domain name. Like: lifetimewithdogs@lifeofapuppy.com

FYI, I checked and that domain is available.

I don't use Aweber, but it should be just as easy to set up your own email as it is to set up your gmail account. And I am sure they provide you with the information you need to do this.

Aweber is great, and I use it now. But if it hadn't had been for MailChimp, I probably would never had started my list.

I agree, ebooks that are short and sweet on the niche topic are great. Make sure you tease them with the content in it but try to add something
    for the dog owner too!

I definitely wouldn't send the emails with gmail or any other free emailing service. Use one of your domains. You'll have a much better success rate.

As for the free giveaway, a one-off eBook might be okay. You might always want to consider a special 3 part course, and space it out so each part is sent out every other day. That way, they have a reason to continue checking your emails, and not opting out as soon as they get their free ebook.

In my opinion, you should give away anything that YOU MADE.

There's a number of reasons for this:
      1. If you are putting together a squeeze page, you want to introduce them to YOUR brand, so that when you email them it seems like they already know you.

      2. You want them to focus on you, and what YOU have to offer, not somebody else. Offering somebody else's product (like PLR products) increases the chance that they will forget about/ignore you and sign up to hear from whoever's product you gave away.

      3. It's good exercise, if you plan on selling them for any of your products, or trying to get them to buy products from your opinion, then asking for feedback (with your newly acquired email addresses) will help you to know exactly what they like/don't like/want to see. This would help you market to them more effectively.

Just my two cents, best of luck to you!

      It's extremely simple, honestly.

Especially since you're giving it away as a free product, you shouldn't worry too much about paying for nice graphics or anything.
Really, you can get away with just typing up a nice paper in Microsoft Word (or whatever writing program you have) and then saving it as a PDF file.

Sign up for some other free ebooks and get a feel for how they look/what they do. I think you'll find that it's not all that much work!

      Best,

Put together a "Top 10 Reasons Dogs Are Better Than Cats" report or something like that.

Dare to be different than all the other dog training, dog owner tips, etc. type offers. Aim to entertain a little. At the end of the report you could even call for further suggestions from readers to get them engaged a little.

If someone's suggestion is good enough to knock one of yours out of the top 10, change the report to include theirs. Maybe even put a picture of them and their dog in at the end where you give them credit for their submission.

After a while you could even add an "As decided by 15,000 dog lovers" (or however many it may be) blurb somewhere in your opt-in box and issue a challenge of sorts to would be subscribers.

You can always go back and try the status quo later.

This is potentially a big mistake, Anna.

People who use that are the ones who end up with not-very-responsive lists, who put a lot of time and effort into list-building and end up with two thirds or more of their subscribers not even willing to open and read their emails. It's a really good idea to avoid that!

What you give out as the incentive for the sign-up should be designed specifically to be a way of ensuring a high open-rate for your subsequent emails. That's the purpose of the whole thing, after all. List-building is about continuity.

      Then start learning.

It's not too difficult. You can "save as PDF" from things like "Word", and there are even equivalents of "Word" that you can download free, and there are free PDF converters, and so on.

It doesn't need to be big, at all, but without creating it yourself, you won't find one that does the job you need it to do, and ensures that your subscribers read your emails, because it's designed to be part of your continuity-process and to make sure that you start building a trust and credibity-based relationship with the people on your list. This is what determines whether those people turn into customers from whom you make a living.

(And stay away from Mailchimp! Affiliate marketing and a dozen other things are prohibited there. Countless Warriors have lost their lists there through not knowing this).

Creating a big list is your main motive right ?

First prepare your email from your hosting then go over with your thoughts about the topic you are trying to reach your audience & then put some copyright free images & finally convert it to PDF.

This PDF form of ebook can be used to share & you can use it in ebook sharing sites where you can get more traffic.

Finally you can setup aweber or mailchimp (both are good), moving further with your approach.

a video course is always a great move

even if its for the dog niche you could give away say 3 - 5 free videos that teach people how to train there dog and give tips and techniques

you can give them an ebook or a quality free report, that will still work well but what ever you do make sure its high quality because if it`s garbage or just some re hashed rubbish then you will lose all credibility from day 1

To create a good free item for your dog site, put yourself
in the shoes of your target visitor...

What questions do they most want answered?

What are the biggest, burning problems that they have
with their dogs that they'd like help with?

Then create a free gift that directly addresses their
      specific situation.

If you're going to be selling a product (or recommending
an affiliate product) then include some content that
pre-sells the front-end product you'd like them to buy.

      Dedicated to mutual success,

I find it works great if you offer instant download, single opt-in with a related product as download. Also draw attention to your opt-on by using a signature file in forum posts. Mune works very well.
