First, use a protected download page. This will keep the freebie seekers from finding a "thank you page" and very easily scoring your product for free.

As for dealing with pirates, one just needs to be proactive, and have a slew of DMCA templates at the ready. As soon as you see your product go up on the "freebie sites" simply contact them with a proper DMCA complaint. If they do not remove the page, contact their webhost.

I have seen a few people using AdobeAIR for software, which is a solid anit-pirate device, but never seen it used for an eBook.

I saw what on it's face looks like a promising service the other day, but haven't used it. Maybe others have. Piracy Killer, it automates searches for pirated copies and sends out DMCA notices to service providers or their hosts if they aren't compliant with takedown requests.

As for step two, when they takedown the pirated links file a John Doe lawsuit in federal district court looking for first the IP addresses of the uploader from the pirate sites, then the names of the account holders of those IP addresses from the service providers and demand statutory damages for their infringement!

The copyright law is a sword, not a shield and people need to be ready to sue EVERYTIME to enforce their rights!

Put protection on your ebook (a lock). Order DLGuard to give people a limited time to download your product. If they try to link to your ebook in a forum or website... the timed out page with your product on it will be non-existant.

the only way is to put a protection or sealed it with your privacy. I think that's the only way. But How can you protect your IP. don't get it. Hardly you can hide it.

He is not talking about his "Internet Protocol" address.

He IS talking about his "Intellectual Property".
