How to get targeted traffic to deal hunting site

Hi,

I created a deal hunting website. I have quite a bunch of products listed on the site. I only put the best deals on my website with huge discounts up to 80%.
All the products I have opens affiliate links, so I can get commission.

So far, I run some giveaway campaigns and spent a great deal of money on the gifts to increase brand awareness and facebook/twitter followers. I'm also doing some article marketing on my blog and hubpages, but my traffic is terrible. Only traffic I get is for the giveaways, and my bounce rate is so high. What should I do to increase traffic to my site?

Have you considered direct advertising on sites related to your products? You could advertise on say a tech review site or other review site. Yes it's not free but advertising something like that through article marketing and hub pages most likely won't fetch you a ton of traffic. The good news is that if your site is solid, the deals are actually worth the persons time (and really are a deal) then you may start to build your reputation and get more and more referral and direct traffic.

Depending on what you're selling you may be able to go through craigslist or ebay (drop shippers use ebay all the time and inside the actual auction just link to their website touting it as having cheaper prices than the ebay auction which can drive huge traffic)

You could also run PPC campaigns for people searching for the actual product name, this could have tons of competition HOWEVER if you look for mispells or if you're promoting products that are not super mainstream may be profitable.

    Good luck!

LOL. Now that is a first! Don't think I've ever seen that before.

As for the OP. See if you can do some guest blogging on some niche related sites. Build up an audience base and don't give up. Remember. Hunting season comes every year... so if you don't see instant results this year, keep plugging along for next year!

Man this made me laugh so hard. Lol

Anyway, alllyc... does the profit potential in the niche exist, or did you enter into it just to say that you're in a niche?

I think paid advertising will do you fine. PPC will allow you to see if it's worthwhile or not. It's one of the fastest ways to test it.

If you find that PPC is profitable, expand your advertising avenues onto sites, blogs, solo ads, etc. I would also incorporate some blog marketing, article marketing, and social marketing into the mix.

if you have a site where you sell products in that type of niche then there are certain things which i would focus on

    1. creating quality information in your niche (link bait) so that other sites within your niche will want to link to you. Im talking top notch information which others may charge for

    2. Get yourself established on social platforms. Create accounts at google+1, twitter and facebook as a minimum and connect them all using rapportive. Build your social following and you will building your traffic to your blog

    3. Comment on other hunting blogs

    4. Contact lots of other hunting blogs and ask if you create a guest post for them, this will generate you some good steady traffic (and some serious link juice fire power)

    5. Build a list from your hunting blog and then when ever you create new blog posts, send your list traffic to them creating more exposure to your posts, this then gets your posts shared more on social platforms giving you more traffic to build your list and then more traffic to send back to your blog, this is how it can snowball

Carry out these methods and you will start to see results

And did you realize that not one method is relying on google :-)
