[Advice needed] Hosting More than 10 Domains on Hostgator Baby Plan.

I need to host 10 domains.

I do not want to buy 2 hosting accounts and complicate things.. So... if you are also hosting 10 or more domains on same hosting account, please share your experiences.

Is hostgator baby plan good? I do not know any other hosting management software other than Cpanel. Please let me know which hosting is good to host 10 or more domains on a single host.

thanks!

I'm not sure, but I think that on baby plan, all your sites are treated as one site regarding resources. If your sites are heavy on memory, number of files, processor usage, better option would be Hostgator reseller package, but it's more pricy - it's $25/month. That way, all sites are separated, have their own cPanel, stats, and treated as someone else is the owner and you're just a reseller. But you can always upgrade later if you have problems with baby plan. If your websites are normal, you can go with baby plan.

Hosting several websites on Hostgator is not a problem. You just need to look at your resource usage as well as the inodes limit of 250,000 inodes. Unless you are hosting a heavy traffic blog or a busy forum, having 10 or more websites on Hostgator Baby plan is fine. I know, because I used to have a dozen websites on one Hostgator Baby plan (it's now down to eight).

    Good luck!

I personally use Byet Host for all of my sites. Have one account with 16 active domains. I use the "unlimited" plans at $6.99 a month, but you can opt for a limited bandwidth account (250GB) for $3.99 and can host up to 20 domains on it.

Love 'em and never had a problem with 'em!

I have been with Hostgator for about four years, but recently I seriously have considered changing.

I have both a VPS and a reseller account, and I can see that many of the sites have a very high load time.

Even sites with only a plain HTML front page and nothing fancy has a load time of 3-5 seconds. I can see it in Google analytics + a monitor program I use.

On the other hand, Hostgaor has a very good support, so I hope they can soon discover what is causing the delay.

I also signed up for an account at Hostnine, and got two sites there - and no problem there what so ever.

Just an FYI for those of you in any shared hosting environment make sure you have your anti comment spamming set-up on your Word Press blogs because if you have your wp admin email set-up on one of those domains you can hit your inode limit rather quickly if you start getting a lot of comment spam.

I have exactly 10 sites on HostGator and all of them loads pretty quick. My sites are not heavy with video and stuff, and this could be the reason for faster loading.

To answer your question, I wouldn't worry about upgrading the plan from Baby if your sites are in their infancy.

Hostgator is no doubt one of the best in terms of hosting and they seem to have excellent technical support. I highly recommend them.

Hi - Yes I would highly recommed hostgator - I have 10 plus sites with them and also use their free domain forwarding for my CPA offers which works a treat. Equally as important is their support which is immense. In my opinion you have made a good choice.

10 sites should not be a problem unless they are really popular and getting tons of traffic. I had up to 14 sites on a Baby plan and didn't come close to any problems.

"Unlimited" hosting is not dependent on the number of sites you host, but the amount of resources they use.

You can kill a HG baby plan with just one site, or you might find you can quite happily host 100 sites. Entirely depends on the type of sites and the amount of traffic they receive.

Have multiple domains being hosted with Hostgator, cheap, effective and you just can't beat the live chat support. Whenever I have had an issue it was sorted out promptly.
