Advice Needed: Don't Want to Upset Google

Hi Warriors....I'm back for more advice.
I've got my blog set up and what not, and I have a very important question. Over the past week, I've been adding content to the blog, but I don't want to upset the Google Gods.
The question is: How many posts is it safe to do in one day, without upsetting Google? Is there a recommended limit?
When you answer this question, please keep in mind that my objective is to get a small but decent amount of content on the blog before I really start hustling for traffic. Right now, I'm pretty sure that I am the only traffic...I'm not sure if not hustling up traffic from day one is a bad thing or a good thing though.
So question #2 is:
At what point should I start working to bring traffic to the blog?
