Possible to Have Bought a Bad or Site non Google friendly domain?

So I purchased a domain in June from Godaddy.com. I didn't do anything with the domain until a few days ago when I put up my site. The site is 30 to 40 pages and started getting indexed. About 1 or 2 days after I put the site up I realized my site was ranking for a bunch of different keywords. Since I had 0 links to it and the domain has been indexed literally 2 days I thought this was strange since the niche I am in usually takes at least 2 to 3 months for your site to surface.

So I checked the internet archive of the domain and it turns out that at some point in 2011 this domain was parked. I figured this had to be why my site started ranking instantly. But now 1 day later a site search of my domain previously returning 35 pages now returns 5. In fact all day I have been seeing varied #'s for how many pages are indexed. And, the 5 pages that are still indexed are still ranking. Literally all day every 5 mins it has been changing how many pages are indexed and deindexed.

Has anyone seen something like this happen before? Is it possible that a domain could have been banned by Google in the past then when I went to buy it from Godaddy still have some sort of penalty? I always assumed any domain from Godaddy.com was a Fresh start for Google ranking but perhaps I am wrong? I'd appreciate anyone with insight.

Add your domain on google webmaster tools and make a request for reindexation.
Tell them you are a new owner, if whois is fine ti could work.
