I currently have a high quality QuickTime (.mov) video and I would
like to add an image (.jpg) to the very end of it. Is there a way to
do this without losing video quality? If so, are there any free
programs that you would recommend for achieving this?

Also, would it be better for me to process the final video as a .mov
or .avi... or perhaps something else? Again, I'm trying not to lose
video quality.

Thanks!

You can use Windows Movie Maker os a simple program like that to add the image to the end. If the video size is too big, you can use a compression tool to reduce the size.
