i've been reading a lot on here and am falling into the information overload, and not taking action. i am very new to this and do not know much. I heard great things about alex jeffreys and chris farrel. are these 2 people you all would recommend?

- i think my main niche i want to get involved in is affiliated marketing. would those 2 teach me basics and help me on my way.. if not where can i learn.

- also i know a lot people say a lot free information on here in forums. but i have a little money so if a program or mentor i can buy has it all put together i would rather do that then search for it all day long.

Information overload is the main reason newbies fail.
Pick a method to generate targeted traffic and concentrate on conversions.
Once you master that then take another route to get targeted traffic.

Take your time, and don't get distracted or discouraged.
As far as a mentor, stick it out here and ask around.
And for God's sake don't believe everything you read.....
    Do your homework.

I agree. I see and hear a lot of B.S.... not just here on the forum. It's EVERYWHERE. It's on the news. It's on the job. It's ALL OVER TV.

Most people simply DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!

Most people are simply parroting what they have heard elsewhere.

People want to contribute to the conversation and so they just repeat the same misguided information over and over again.

But how does that help you?

First of all. Now you know! Because I just told you! Check things out for yourself.

If you find someone who's successful... Don't buy their BS. Copy what they do. Don't follow their advice and buy what they told you to. Mimic what they do. Study their style and their tactics.

      Now you know...

Do you mean you have little time for you to search info from forums all day long?

It is difficult to find your direction when your trying to learn about so many different things, but really there are only two basic paths to follow path number one, follow everyone else and try to make money working for other people, (affiliate marketing, service providers)

    path number two...

Learn the business of what it takes to make money online, then create your own product that provides a solution to a problem.

People make money following both paths but more people make more money from learning the business of Marketing and developing a product than any other method.

It really is that simple, you can follow everyone else and try to make a commission on selling someone else's product or you can put in the time to learn the business and make more money simply because 90 percent of everyone else is not willing to take the time to learn this business.

You'll find some more focused and detailed information on some of the better blogs out there than you will on the forums here. There's great information here to be sure, but if you're trying to find the best way for you to personally get started you might want something a little more organized to go through. I'd recommend 'Smart Passive Income' as a good blog to start, if you're looking for more specific guidance on building micro-niche ad-sense sites check out the adsense flippers site, they go into a ton of detail on their exact process, it's presented in a way that's easy enough to scale down to beginner level. StrayBlogger has some good practical info I'm a little wary of some of the latest tactics used over there, I wouldn't recommend the paid course there (straybloggertraining.com) but the podcasts are a good overview and cover pretty much everything in the paid training...

There are tons of others out there too like Online Income Lab, Internet Business Mastery, etc. and a lot of them have membership sites with a lot of content.

    Hi,

Information overload is a newbie’s trap
If you want to get into affiliated marketing, then I believe you need to build a list in a particular niche, say dating or something, create a free report around their pain points (what they really need) so you get people on your list then start promoting other people's products. Remember when building a list you need to have a solid relationship with your list and trust.

People like John Thornhill, Michael Cheney, Dave Nicholson to mention but a few that come to mind

    I hope this helps.

Ok so you chose affiliate marketing. Stop looking at your inbox now. Find a course, or guide and follow exactly what it says. Then add the traffic! Then start testing!!! Test everything.
Start buying some traffic. Quicker results and is good when you buy from targeted resources. If you fail.... Find a mentor pay the money and learn a step by step method.

Or just do that first. Having a mentor is key though once I got one I started making real money. Tristan Bull is my mentor and he is awesome.

Everyone here is correct in that you need to pick a path and follow the leaders. It is very hard to know Who the leaders are. Alex and Chris are two very good mentors if that is what you feel you need. Chris Farrell's membership site has Hours of free stuff all of which will give you great advice. I would highly recommend starting there you could spend several weeks going through his free courses without ever joining his membership. That may give you a starting point. We have to have a bucket to put out knowledge in...you need a foundation to build on. Chris Farrell has built his business on the fact that there is information overload for newbies like us. Go try it out you will learn a lot on how to start without spending a dime.

I suggest if you are new to read around the Warrior Forum but don't buy anything. Just look at the different methods of driving traffic.

Essentially if you are going to be promoting a product as an affiliate you don't need to worry about much else other than site set up, driving traffic and monitoring results.

Make sure you focus on giving things a go and be prepared not so much to spend money but to work HARD.

Keep going and make sure to monitor your results - in my experience people fail because they don't focus on ONE thing for long enough, always thinking there is some easier way to make money.

I have NEVER found an "easy" way but if you are prepared to keep on going and not give up you will get there.
