Best Amazon Products to Target

Let's share ideas on what makes a good Amazon Product, as far as conversions are, and go beyond the $100 items, 4 star reviews, etc.

Although I have yet to apply these ideas and have not validated them, here are mine:

Don't target items that are readily available retail for the same price. This is especially true for big and bulky items. For example if the item can be found at Walmart or Home Depot for the same price. Not many people want to buy a wheel barrell or large bbq grill (if it's same price).

Another same price item is Video Games (Xbox, etc). A new game that goes for $59 retail, also goes for $59 at amazon and the consumer wants that item NOW, not 7 days.

Look for items that have Free Shipping.

Look for items that are traditionally expensive in retail stores. Usually items that wal-mart cannot carry a good selection of. For example ever walk into a bike shop or and see the prices? You want to run. Specialty bicycles might be a good one. Although if unassembled this could be another problem.

Avoid items that a customer might think have a good chance of breaking during shipping cycle. Furniture pieces, glassware..

Avoid items that the consumer would want to see in person before making buying decision: furniture, a design rug, a piece of art...Sometime many good reviews can override these items.

Share some ideas.

I always like to review an item(s) which I actually like in the first place. This makes writing the review much easier.

Products that you own or have used is also another tip I might add.

Everyone always seems to go after the high ticket items, but the cheaper items will often get more traffic and you get the possibility of placing your cookie on them.

Look for obscure items. An example would be all the "gadgets" that RadioShack sells. They sell stuff that you can't buy in most other stores and have to go to them for.

I find that using Amazon's own lists.....

    *bestsellers
    *hot new releases
    *gift ideas
    *top rated
    *most wished for

In conjunction with any keyword tool (free or paid) to pinpoint products with some search volume.....

Will result in a list of products to target....

And that should make sense as these lists reflect where the demand is!

You might want to listen to Michael. He is really awesome when it comes to promoting amazon products. He has a coaching program that will teach you step-by-step in a 1on1 mentoring how to profit from amazon websites in as low as a month.

My 2 cents .. you should spend sometime browsing through amazon and pick 20 - 30 products that you are interested in. Then you do KW research for these products and come up with the best 3 that you think is profitable and worth the time you are going to spend.

Amazon research comes with practice so just get on with it. Once you get started you will see yourself transforming into an expert in picking the best products to promote.
