Hi Warriors:

I need opinions on the following:

I applied for a merchant account with Authorize.Net and was approved.

They asked me what I was selling...I said digital infoproducts and general merchandise (maybe)....

They asked me how much of my business was going to be done on the Internet. I said 100%...

Soo...

I received an email from them stating I had 60 days to activate my account.

Before I do this, I was wondering if any fellow Warriors have had any experiences with Authorize.Net and if the experience was good or bad...

I checked up on them and they seem to be a reliable merchant account company.

Nothing wrong with Paypal...I love Paypal...but I wanted to transition to a different merchant account processor...

Thanks in advance to all that respond with positive and negative opinions and remarks re: Authorize.Net

I've used them since 2002 with no problem.

authorize.net is a good payment processor. You shouldn't have too many problems or anything. I use them for actual products and not info products but that shouldn't be too much of a difference.

If you were to ask me what two payment processing gateways I would want to have in any business I ran I would tell you:

    1. Authorize.net
    2. Paypal

I'm heard nothing but good stuff about Authorize.net,

But, quick question does it work exactly like PayPal, or can it immediately deposit money into your back account? - Thanks in advance!

      Great question!

Here's my deal...and this is personal...

I like Paypal, but because they are not FDIC insured, I do not have my bank account linked to them. That is why my profile is Unverified.

Plus, I've heard horror stories about Paypal freezing accounts at will and making it difficult for individuals to receive the money they have frozen...for no reason.

When I get money in my Paypal account, I have it transferred over to a prepaid debit card that works side by side with Paypal. But, it takes 3-4 business days for the money to show up on my prepaid Visa when I check the balance online.

      Authorize.Net, however...

puts the money in your bank account IMMEDIATELY...

I had to provide my bank's name, routing number, and account number, as well as a major credit card in case they cannot withdraw the monthly expenses from my bank account...

I guess the credit card is there for backup...

Anyway, I will keep Paypal because I promote a few affiliate products on the web and these products take either Paypal or Clickbank.

I will use Authorize.Net for my own products or services...

      Hope this answers your question.

Awesome thanks for the quick reply dude,

I ask this question for 2 reasons mainly...

#1. Because PayPal froze my account in the middle a grand launch of one of my products. (Something I will never forgive them for)... + I find myself paying far too much for fees when there customer services are NOT that great...

#2. A good friend of mine is a wizard of PPC, and he uses Authorize.net to instantly receive the funds in hes bank account and then immediately puts back a percentage of the profits into ppc and other advertisements.

... This seriously gives him an advantage over me, since I have to wait about 7-10 days before the money gets into my bank account... Yes, I know I could use a Credit Card for funds, but I don't like being in debt of anything... Thanks again for the quick response.

Best Regards & Good luck on your venture!
