I have a a blog about dogs and thinking of making a squeeze page. Is it ok to put a squeeze page on another page. Like www.lifetimewithdogs.com/squeezepage.
What should I call it www.lifetimewithdogs.com/freeoffer or freegift?

  • If you want to make it a true squeeze page (no other stuff on the page) a good (the best?) option is to create a subdomain like http://squeeze.lifetimewithdogs.com/ and put something like OptimizePress on it to make your page.

Unless you want to make your page on your site with the usual distractions of course, then you can do it like you said www.lifetimewithdogs.com/squeezepage.

It just depends on how you want it to look. The reason you can't use something like OptimizePress for squeeze pages on your site as-is, is because it's a theme...so it needs it's own install.
  • does it cost to make a subdomain? never did it before

    • No, it's free. If you are using Wordpress you just go into your Cpanel and just add a subdomain and install Wordpress...it's easy as an apple pie.

If you get stuck PM me and I can help you through it.
  • With all hosting plans I've ever had (that is a lot) you just make them for free.

I have a great luck using video squeeze pages. For me, they convert about 5 - 8 times better than most text only designs. That will vary by niche and page / video quality.

Even when using video, I still use a compelling headline, in large text, and at least a strong paragraph of good copy to suport the video. Try to keep from using more than 2 or 3 paragraphs though. In my experience that detracts from conversions. Others may have a different experience, though.
  • Kool, i dont know what i am going to offer yet on my dog blog.
  • just gotta figure out what to offer. should i call it free offer or squeeze page?
  • You don't have to use OptimizePress and spend $97 just to create a squeeze page. Just do a simple Google search for free squeeze page templates and you'll find dozens of resources from where you can download a template.

When using WP you can still add a squeeze page to the site without having the usual header, categories etc appear. Simply add the squeeze page as a normal.html page.

Create the page (or better said customize it) using a free html editor and then upload it to your server.

    Mike.
  • Why would you need Optimize Press or a subdomain to create just a Squeeze Page?!?!?

You don't need to. Simply create an independent html page outside your blog (using any of the hundreds of free templates out there) like this: www.lifetimewithdogs.com/freeoffer.html

    Don't overcomplicate things, no need.
