I'm new to the forums, i'm not quite sure if this is the right section to start this thread. So i've been working on making money on the internet for the past 2 years. I've had no luck at all.
Last week, i came across a course on making money with squeeze pages and Facebook advertising. I created my squeeze page last week and i have just 3 subscribers. I've spent like $50 on advertising with Facebook and solo ads but nothing! I have my emails ready to be sent out on aweber, everything is set up right. I just don't know what am i doing wrong? Someone please help before i call it quits on internet marketing.
thanks i really appreciate it!

Also, i'd like to add that i set up an adwords campaign, and that is still pending since Saturday. My niche is skincare more specifically acne. I'm promoting click bank products and i would like to get started on my own product, but not with the results or lack of that i have been getting.

If you are just about ready to give up, you're probably just about ready to make it! I wish I could give you some advice but those arn't my areas of expertise. Just wanted to say, stick it out a little longer and good luck.

I am going to give you 2 pieces of good advice..

      1. stick with one method and master it.
      2. do not give up.... ever.
It took me 3 years of trial and error before I came into my own.

And spend the $37 and join the War Room.
Best $37 I ever spent, trust me.
Tons of free advice others charge for.

I totally agree with Dave. Stick to one method and once everything is working well you can expand to a different method. And since you already spend 2 years in this industry why give up..Be patient and everything will be alright just believe you will achieve your goal. So don't you ever give up. Just keep going.

      Let me guess ...

The course (that you bought) promoter said that it would be easy making sales and getting traffic because Facebook is SOOOO BIG and its members are always looking to buy something. Throw up a squeeze page, buy some traffic, and you're on the way to the bank!

Here are a few of the obvious questions you need to ask:

      1. How much traffic are you getting?
      2. Is the traffic targetted to your niche?
      3. Is that traffic actually seeing your ad (squeeze page)?
      4. Are you offering something for the lead that the prospect actually wants?
      5. Does you lead capture flow actually work? (Autoresponder process)
      6. Have you tested other lead sources?

I agree that you haven't been in the game long enough yet to give up on what you have started. Most successful marketers -- had they quit after their first attempt -- would never be successful today. Yes, you've been at it for two years, but what have you been doing for the two years? Can you honestly say that you've been trying different offers and traffic methods, testing and tweeking the whole time? Or have you just been lurking and learning that whole time?

Don't give up without actually "doing" real marketing for an extended period.

Try going back to the person who sold you the course and hold their feet to the fire to help you if their claims are not happening. You will find out real fast if they really wanted to help you in the first place or if they were only interested in the sale and won't support their claims!

Great words right off the bat with this one. I've found that it's often when you think it's not gonna work and think about giving up that you start seeing results. Sometimes, you never know when that point will come, so it's hard to keep at it, but stay plugged in and focused.

Sometimes, it's important to follow your gut. If you can't see something working, it might be because it only works for a few people who have money to market or might not actually work at all. You have to learn as you go. That being said, a lot does work when you stick with it.

the first thing you have to do nick is adopt a different mindset

and rather than think "im gona give up this don`t work"

adopt the mind set of "if this doesnt work i will try another way until i find a way that it does work"

    it`s that simple

any successful Internet Marketer will have a lot of stories of how they failed a lot of times before succeeding

I looked at your "squeeze page" - it consists of one line, an optin form and 4 frogs telling me the domain is unregistered.

If you do get any traffic there they won't go any further - they certainly wont sign up.

Don't really understand - please clarify

Is anyone else seeing the same - tried Firefox AND Chrome?

            Is that text a graphic?

I was going to copy and paste it into here and give you more subtitles and separations, but when I tried to copy it it just tried dragging and dropping instead.

If that's a graphic it will never be picked up by the search engines. Change that to text!

Yes... I just found it a lot easier to write out the text on word and screen shot it to upload onto the page. I'm not good with codes and writing it was difficult. But i do see your point. Thanks a lot I will definitely change it.

It's not a huge problem as long as it loads quick enough. It's a page you are sending PPC to, you dont need search engines to pick it up. The only time it would matter is if you're sending Adwords traffic to it and then it could affect the quality score.

Seriously...you have only been at it for a few weeks. Regardless of the advice you are going to get here (and you will get tons of advice from helpful Warriors - they are amazing that way), the fact is that anyone that has succeeded has had to be resilient and disciplined enough to get there.

You're giving up after a few weeks? Man up, my friend. Stop whining and start taking more action. And if you aren't seeing the results you are hoping for, then take more action instead of taking the time and energy to start a thread complaining about how bad you have it.

This industry is tough for EVERYONE, especially in the beginning. To give up after a few weeks is just sad. I do hope that you listen to the valuable info that Warriors are giving you, and take some damn action. Only action is going to get you the success you want.

        Much Success,

Firstly for a squeeze page there is too much text (in my oppinion).

If this were me, I'd put a catchy headline, then put a short video then your opt-in code.

    OR

You could do what I just said BUT when the user goes to click the play button on the video, they get the message stating they need to opt-in first.

Also if your just getting started, isn't the 'acne niche' a little difficult? I know for a fact the competition there is VERY HIGH. Would it not be better for you to link to a product instead of a sales page?

I think what may help also, Is to NOT believe the HYPE you have shoved in your face on a daily basis.

There is no magic solution to IM'ing. It's all a building process. You say you have a few subscribers,, well,, that's how it works. I have "quit" waaaay too many time when I was starting to build lists. I'd get a few and I'd be off to the next thing. But, now,, had I kept going and just kept building at a semi-slow pace,, I'd have thousands of subscribers and probably be doing ok.

So,, blow off the hype and stay focused. Don't listen to these people saying they're making thousands doing some "shortcut" BS system. That's what it is,, BS! So, unless you develope some AMAZING new product, you're gonna have to ride it out.

If you want super fast riches,, try creating a product to offer as a WSO. But,, you will soon find out, it's harder than the "HYPE ARTISTS" make it seem.

Your squeeze page looks to be a bit wordy, you want something short, attention grabbing, written so that the visitor just HAS to know more and have a strong clear call to action.

A main headline, some bullet points and enough bait to whet the appetite of your visitor.

Check out some of the squeeze pages of other marketers and try to tailor your squeeze page like theirs. That doesn't me flat out copy them but if someone else's page makes you want to sign up for what they're offering figure out what it is that's making you feel that way and incorporate that into your page.

I have teenagers so I know what a hot topic skin care and acne can be, I don't know what the competition level is in this niche but there is money to be made... now go make some.

    And remember

    Not dead
    Can't quit

    Good luck

Hmm i was thinking my squeeze page was a bit wordy and distracting. I'll definitely look into some others for inspiration and change mine up a bit.

I guess i can admit i was lost in all the hype and the promises these people where giving. It's definitely a big reality check that it isn't that easy.

Also, how do you know it's time to move on from a niche and start up something different in another category? At this point I'm thinking of looking for another less competitive niche. Would that be a good idea?

Took me 5 years. I am a bit slow, but I kept beating my head against the brick wall full of magic money buttons. Stick it out. I would say find a good affiliate offer and then hunt the forum for great threads on how to do this. You will find some consistencies. Put them all in a book and start creating your own system. Or better yet find a mentor. Don't give up and I do believe that you success was just on the other side of your last failure.

I think you should totally just give up, sounds like you cant make it man... so sad too bad.

Honestly what do you expect with that kind of attitude?

What are you 12 years old or something coming to a forum and looking for sympathy!?

I get it, trust me I do. Life 's hard, nobody said t would be easy. No body said you just buy an ecourse and then your cruising the Bahamas coked off your face ready to go blow a few grand at the Casino!

      It doesn't work that way.

You gotta put your head down, your bum up and get to work. Work your butt off, and then once you have done that for a few years, invested time, money, been consulted, coached only then you can say you gave it your all. But honestly two years in and your complaining that some course hasn't made you rich yet.. this is a bit forward don't you think?

I mean really c'mon... let's be serious now.

Definitely not 12 years old and not looking for sympathy. I'm just like any other lost person looking for help in a world I'm not yet 100% familiar with.

I agree with everything you said though. One thing i've learned with all this is it doesn't come easy. That was the biggest lie all these gurus have said to me. That's why now I'm completely starting over. So far i've spent money on Facebook advertising, money on domains, hosting, auto responder everything i need to be set up.

My plan was to drive traffic to my squeeze page, build a list, and promote click bank products through emails, while providing valuable content.

Thanks a lot for your help I really needed to be shaken up into reality.

Whoa. Really though as harsh as you sound, it's good to be shaken up into reality. The thing is I want to work my butt off. I just don't know what to work my butt of at! Two things.

          1) sounds like you need to figure out what you really want. One good way of doing that is to make a list. On one side list the things you are good at and on the other side put the things that you like doing. BINGO! Well would you look at that.

Still surprises me to this day how people end up getting what they don't want and not figuring out that's its because they don't even know what they really want.

Once you know what you are good and and what you like it should give you some direction. Follow that direction and see if you can do something with it online.

          2) you cant trust what people on this forum say. Although I love this forum and visit it daily, people are just people. You cant know who is behind the posts in reality and unless you are paying for a coaching program from someone you can learn to trust or has proven themselves you could be getting advice from a whole bunch of people struggling just like you (blind leading the blind).

I cant actually see the squeeze page but everyone mentioning he has too much text? Have any of the people who are saying this ever made a successful squeeze page before? Long copy beats short copy. People who don't want to read the full thing will sign up from the headline, some people may read a few sentences and then sign up but some need the full copy to convince them. Adding opt-in boxes below the top few bullet points then half way down the copy and then again at the bottom seem to work best from my experience.

For me a squeeze page needs to be short and to the point. It has ONE purpose - to get people to sign up. That's all. It's not a sales page.

Don't give up. The main thing that you can do is build links to your site. It does take time before you are actually in front of someone that would be a potential buyer. There are a lots of ways to make real money online.
I suggest you think of what you can give FIRST, do find out what you are good at? Examples likes: writing good articles, your own hobby niche, writing blogs on your niche promote a concept of yours or.... give the best of what you have.

If you are good at marketing, you may start by promoting others' product. If you have your own good product, you may ask other to promote for you as affiliates. If you don't know how to market, then come to this forum and learn, there are a lots of great guru in this forum too.

    Success come with learning process,
Don't focus only on results but enjoy the process...until you get the key of success.

Don't give up or give in but get helps..

Loosing the way in the middle just means that you stopped trying for success.

Keep trying but do not stop looking for new ways to build your business stream. Also, if you are not a master of one flow, then you should not think for a big success in a short span of time.

It takes time to build large setup which requires patience & consistency.

Just keep plugging away, unless you are losing a ton of money on facebook ads the only thing it really costs is some of your time. Try something and get good at it. If it isn't working then tweak it until it is. I don't really think there is any reason to give up if you actually enjoy internet marketing. I haven't had a ton of success but at the moment I view it as a hobby. It's fun and I get to teach myself new skills. Would I give up? No, I view it as a challenge. Set some goals and get to work

I agree with @Andrei. Your list is the most important thing. Even if you have to spend some money with some of the guys on here to put your opt in offer to their subscribers then do it. Your list is the most important thing.

It took me a year and a half to figure this out. Learn it right away. This way you are not relying on internet traffic for money.

IM businesses CAN be built with little money. (I DON'T think they can be built with NO money.) I think you need to be prepared to spend a set amount every week or month. Stay focused and consistent.

Saying "I've spent $50. It's not working and I'm going to give up." is, well....rather ridiculous. Foolish, really. Bricks and mortar businesses spend many thousands and even hundreds of thousands of dollars to market their businesses. Online businesses spend just a fraction of that -- and are often HUGELY successful. $50 is NOTHING.

Some wise advice from millionaire and late business philosopher Jim Rohn: "Work it UNTIL you figure it out." You don't say "I'll work at it for 3 months or 6 months. Or until I've spent $X." You stick with it UNTIL you make it work, however long that takes.

The only way to fail is to give up. But forget about the money right now. I WOULD recommend stepping back and taking a different approach to making money online first.

IM CAN be very confusing and overwhelming. Believe me, I know! Been there, done that.

Clarity is a HUGE part of IM success. I hope this post brings some clarity. It's so simple when you know it -- and darn difficult when you don't! I owe my mentors a world of thanks for bringing this clarity.

IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:

      1. Products
      2. Services

      That's it!

And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:

      Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page

That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)

But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?

A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:

      1. Membership-based model

A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.

There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.

      2. Product-based model

Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.

Affiliate marketing falls under both models. You can choose to market either products or services as an affiliate.

      3. Service-based model

Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.

However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.

What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)

The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:

      Pick just ONE!

      1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)

      2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)

      3. Pick ONE business model.

Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS! (And stop buying any info not related to your niche and target market, period!)

      F -- Follow
      O -- One
      C -- Course
      U -- Until
      S -- Successful

And remember: build a list, Build a List, BUILD A LIST!

In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!

Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.

If you DON'T have a solid plan or system, THAT'S when it's hard. A good system will shave YEARS (and save you big $$$) off of your learning curve

That's why I recommend investing in at least one good, comprehensive IM course (or mentor who will give you such a system) instead of jumping from one $37 e-book to the next. A lot of people here complain about not being able to make any money. But neither are they willing to invest in their business. (Buying a random bunch of $37 e-books doesn't count.)

The best thing I ever did was invest in a comprehensive IM course aimed at REAL business owners, not just other IM wannabes. Yes it was $1500. (It's no longer available.) But it was truly some of the best A-Z IM info I ever bought. Everything else I've learned (from the $37 e-books) since has simply been plugged into this system.

Get a solid plan or system and then work the plan!

      Hope this helps!

I'm going to offer you some rather blunt advice.

If you're seriously ready to five up after just a few weeks than you have no place in this business. Yes I said business. We are building businesses here, or at the least trying to run our hobbies like one.

Backing down from the first hurdle will get you absolutely no where. Period. There is NO arguing that point.

You are either going to learn to adapt, test, re-adapt, and test again or you will fail miserably. Failure is expected in any business venture. It's those who can over come the failures that become successful. If you are already giving up, then maybe you should re-evaluate your goals and aspirations.

I wish you the best in your marketing endeavours, but it might be time to step up your game.

    Never ever give up Nick!

If I had a dollar for everytime I'd tried something and quit when it didn't give instant results I'd have...well, a whole bunch of dollars! Don't ever give up! Pick a method (like you've done) and stick to it.

Don't accept failure! Failure is nothing but a lesson that will help you get better results next time around. Accept that you are unlikely to make money from day one! Heck, accept that you are going to lose money from time to time.

If you do lose money don't consider it a loss. Consider it a payment for a lesson learnt. Sometimes you have to take a short term hit to make long term profits. In fact, that happens all the time.

You say you are ready to go? Now is not the time to quit! Now is the time to press on! If you quit now you will forever be wondering what would have happened if you hadn't quit! I know! I've been there!

Please do keep us updated about your progress. And for the love of god don't quit now!

When It Comes to making money online there are a few things people need to know...

1: Making money online is NOT easy
2: getting started is the hardest part.
3: earning money is the LAST bit we all look for, before you can earn money you need to learn the key skills that are required before you can make money.

Dont fall for those products out there which claim they will make you tons of cash in just a few days. 95% of them out there are not good

It does take time to make money online, most people give up after a few months of trying and thats because getting the right help is not easily found.

    Hi Nick111,

In most cases, it's not about what we do. It's how we do or execute those plans that we have been doing. When we started, we set a weekly goal in terms of sales. That weekly goal turned out to be a monthly goal. When we were not hitting our weekly goal, we have a back-up plan that helps us recover. Before the start of a new fiscal week or fiscal month, we calibrate. We talked about the things that did not work as expected and we highlight those that worked well.

Bottom line, we can help you with specific pieces of advice if you were specific on what you have been doing (the steps to achieve your goals).

You need to understand basic fundamentals before getting success.

    1) are you selecting the right market? They are big in numbers, passionate/irrational and reachable

    2) Is your market buying information? Have you check Amazon and Clickbank and see other information sold to this market?

    3) Do you understand the demographics and what the market wants? And have you create a special report to give them an incentive to optin to your squeeze page.

    4) Do you have a solid traffic plan to send subscribers to your squeeze page and are you consistent?

    5) Have you reach 1,500 subscribers at least on your email list?

If your answers is no, you need to get to work on finding a profitable market, finding what the market wants, create a special report and create a squeeze page, and having a solid plan to send traffic to the squeeze page.

Then after 1,500 subscribers and building a relationship with your subscribers you are going to see consistent income by promoting quality products to them.

I truly sympathize with your situation. We've all been there. I wish someone had told me that stuff when I started. Sometimes, we really need to back up to the beginning -- the very beginning.

I have spent A LOT of money on learning IM over the years. I long ago moved away from the hypey "Make $1,000 tomorrow in your underwear!" stuff. I've been blessed to find some highly successful, insightful, and honest business mentors. Their coaching has been worth every penny I've paid.

Before you start anything on IM, there must be a detailed plan, a process or method on how to go about your plan and most important of all, a specific target market. If any of these is too vague, it may take a long time for you to get anything out of IM.

I'm new here, so... take my advice with a grain of salt friend.

I've been online for many years (I'm 26), and I'm a web designer by trade. Self taught. I find that the internet OFFERS the ability for one to make money, however it's no promise that you will. I'd really suggest that you learn a field of either design, programming or other which is in high demand that you can actually build a career off of. Simply taking 1 hour "Learn the Secret" style courses are quick money makers for the authors.

There really aren't many secrets to success these days other than an eye for design, branding, and some talent in a specific field. I'm not sure how old you are, but if you want to make money online, try and do it legit (sell a product, create a store, market a product, design graphics/websites or resell hosting plans from major web hosts). There's always a way my friend.

    Hi,

If you are new to internet marketing, it is too bad that you cannot make a single cent successfully in a short time frame. There will be less people that are kind enough to guide you. This is cruel but it is true. I spent a lot initiately and hoped that i would get some help from those so-called gurus. But they only showed me the things which can be easily available on internet. You need to try different methods until you find something which works for you.

To me (since i already have experience), what i need for an start up is as follow:
    - $12/month for a unlimited domain registration webhosting.
    - $8/year for domain (i would buy a few of them, let's say 5 domains).
    - Get a freelance to write eBook or articles for your topic(s) for about $200.
    - Use free tools like Wordpress template for your website.
    - Do marketing with free methods (facebook, youtube, article submission, forum marketin etc) to get traffic and to get ranked in major search engines.
    - Spend some money for ads and backlink (about $200).
    - Link all the monetizing tools for free (Google adsense, affliates for electronic products, affiliates for physical products).

    My cost will be:
    - Webhosting: $12/month x 12 = $144
    - Domain: $8/domain x 5 domains = $40
    - Freelance articles or ebook: $200
    - Wordpress: FREE
    - Marketing with free methods: FREE
    - Ads & backlink: $200
    - Monetizing tools: FREE

    TOTAL COST: $144 + $40 + $200 + $200 = $584

I will be spending about $584 for my business which starts from zero. It will soon up and run and generate decent income if you use the correct methods.Hint: Go to my signature.Hope this information will give you some general ideas about how much you need to spend. But it is not gurantee that newbies can do what i said.

    Forget about giving up bro.

Giving up is easy, but it's not worth it, especially after two years trying.

Spend your money on education. Investing in yourself is the best investment you could make.

Don't rush into adwards campaigns, niches, sites or whatever.

Read about marketing, traffic and how they work first. Traffic makes you money, offline or online.

Study traffic, study marketing, study business itself. And believe making money is easy.

    And I'll repeat this:

    Believe making money is easy.
Most people find it difficult to believe, and that's why they either don't have money, or just have a little.

I also will repeat this... learn as much about getting traffic as you can. Learn the free ways first. The first method I used to get traffic (about 3 years or so ago) was placing free classified ads on OLX and Craigslist MundoAnuncio.com and others. I sat for 3 or 4 hours just placing different ads.

I had them respond to a gmail account and set up a vacation response to respond to them with my affiliate link.

I also initially used an account on Tagged.com (with a pic of a pretty girl to get lots of friends) and got traffic that way. Later I did the same with Myspace and Facebook. Again, all for free... just spending my time, not any money.

So with free traffic, I made 30 or 40 bucks my first month in this crazy but fascinating biz called IM. From there, I just kept on keeping on, learning and growing, trying and failing, picking myself back up again with each failed attempt.

Accept the fact that this biz requires LOTS of trial and error.

Start thinking more like Thomas Edison when he was asked about perfecting the light bulb :

"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

      Keep at it !

    Hey,
This was exactly the situation with me one year back. I was about to quit as I was unable to make a penny online. Well now if I were a IM I would say then I found a holy grail of advertising and found a secret method and then I became millionaire over night lol.

But I am not so I started learning web development, and then I started making money as a freelancer. At this time I make $1000+ per month developing and designing websites. I know it is not enough but it is better than following these IM GURUS who haven't ever a cent themselves. IM is difficult mate and most importantly it is full of these self claimed gazzalionaires who make it difficult for any other to make money.

So it is up to you either you can keep trying your luck in IM. OR you can learn something that makes you actual money. Once you have some money in the bank then you can start your own website.

Yes you shouldn't give up, it took me about 3 years before i mastered seo and backlining and now a site with those services. Stick with one thing or else if you keep switching around it will only disapoint you more. To be honest the first time i was learning about link building i ended up spending 10 grand the first 2 years. And i am being honest, it took a long time before i mastered it on my own. I wish you luck, nothing wrong with reading up and going all the way.

You're running around too much trying this and trying that. You aren't sticking to anything to try and improve upon your results. You cannot expect to throw some money at it and expect anything in return until you have tested and tracked everything you do.

Pay attention to your stats and tweak things little by little until it starts to work for you.

Have you tried you tube, and the other traffic techniques that there are out there.

You need to try as many traffic techniques as you can, to find which one works better for you.

There are many ways out there to make money online, you just have to find your way in the dark, which is not easy.

You can always hire a mentor, which is a good idea to take your business to the next level.

My openion is do not stick to one module, try other options such as selling ebook, or do an ebook about your interest and sell it online. The point is you will find your niche where people will appreciate your input and the one that pick up on sales with you this the one that you need to get more stronger.

Online selling is not easy as it seems in a lot of ebook and affiliate promotion websites but with the time you will learn how to reach your target buyers online and at this point you will make money.

    Wish you all the best.

I would say stick with one area...most people "try" one area...and so I tried that it didn't work...and yet there are many other people make a living off that one area....You can make money in just about every area online..

You need to master that area though...ok so one route didn't work ....try another....try another...see what the most successful guys in that field are doing ..study them....you have what you need to succeed....if you give up it's not because you can't make money in that area...it's because you didn't try hard enough....

Anyone reading this can make a living online...can make more than enough to replace your job...it's all about how bad you want that change..

Don't give up, it was embarrassing for me to say this but after about 3 years online, i only started to make money online that can pay for my monthly bills this year. I started out by buying a lot of products and for most of them, i did not even implement it. Even if i did, i did not stick long enough to see any results.

Finally i sat down and think to myself that i must not let it happen again. I finally found the method that is working for me right now and i just keep on scaling it up from there. Although i am not making a lot right now, my monthly bills is paid for. I hope that you stick to the method that is working for you and just keep going. Until you are good at it, then you might want to venture out to other methods.

Nick, I went to your site, Epidermiss.com.

Here are a few things I noticed:

    1. You're redirecting the visitor directly to the Clickbank offer. If you're not pre-selling the visitor, chances are they're not going to buy anything just by landing on the page.

And the page that you happen to be promoting, IMHO, looks extremely spammy. If I was promoting skin care, I definitely wouldn't promote that offer.

I think you need to do a better job finding quality products to promote on Clickbank. I personally spend hours doing this, simply because of the sheer amount of crappy products out there.

Find one that stands out from the rest, research it, find out what would make someone want to buy it, and find a way to get that offer in front of them.

Since you already have Aweber, I would suggest setting up your own squeeze page to collect the leads, and then redirecting the opt-ins to the offer.

Make this seem all part of the process. Make the landing page simple, and with a direct call to action. Find key selling points of the offer you're promoting, and emphasize them on your landing page.

"Discover 5 Foods that Put Your Acne on Overdrive!"

Or whatever. You get the idea. But it has to emotionally trigger something within the visitor that makes them WANT to opt in, just to find out what you're talking about.

This involves market research, products research, and pretty much understanding what it is these people are looking for.

Oh, and I would try another PPC source other than AdWords - at least until you get the hang of it. Mainly because it's pretty expensive, and you're bound to blow through your budget very, very quickly. I'm currently using Microsoft Adcenter myself. If you look around you might be able to find a free $50 advertising coupon to start out with.

When you spend the money on your facebook ads did you link to your landing page / opt in page? Or did you link to a fanpage tab? People dont like to leave Facebook when they click on a Facebook ad link. So if you direct them to your Facebook fanpage they dont leave Facebook. Also by directing them to your fanpage tab you can have like gating and take advantage of the Facebook viral effect. This is where FB ads really shine .. when you can pay for 1 click and get 3 or 4 people to your opt in form.

So you have decided to compete in the single most competitive market in the world? And you are promoting a clickbank product that hundreds of other people are promoting? And you just can't make any headway?

    Hmmm.

Wait a minute! I just now read that you spent $50 on advertising and got no results? $50?

It shouldn't shock you that you have made no money. What would have been shocking is if you did make money.

Here are a few realities that I have accepted.

Almost all businesses fail the first year to make real profit. Meaning that a year of solid effort just works a few of the bugs out.

$50 is nothing. No conclusion can be made after spending $50 on ads.

Have you studied copywriting? The single most profitable skill here?
How many books on copywriting have you read? How many ads have you tested. How about Google PPC ads? How many split tests have you run?

I may be different, but when I was two years into internet marketing, I still couldn't make money. Eventually I learned it was because I didn't have any skills in making money online. And writing a persuasive sales letter, e-mail subject line, title, article, or video script is important information to have...before you'll start making money.

I hope we haven't scared you off, but this is a real business. And real businesses are hard.

From the stage I once asked the audience "How many people here feel like it's 'ten steps forward..and nine steps back?'" Everyone raised their hand.

I said "Here's what you need to know. All business is like that. Your new business isn't different. But every month you take nine steps, you gain a tenth. That's how you make money."

Patience is the key to success on Internet Marketing

To earn through online marketing you should not ask to win from the beginning, but should focus on learning as much about the way things work as online marketing. The main thing is that online marketing is constantly changing and many things change every day, if these changes affect your business you should not be bored and become pessimistic. Always there is another way to earn through online marketing simply you need to find it , and then start earning with that new method.
One thing which I consider very important in relation to online marketing is also the quality of a product which that you want to offer. High quality product guarantees success and continuity in your work.!

I hope that my advice can help you deleting this topic --> "Starting to give up"

Nick - it takes on average 2 and a half years to break through - and even then, this is to start making a regular income, not necessarily an income to live on. From that point on, you can start scaling things up and becoming more successful, as you have made all your mistakes and done all your learning.

It is important to do the learning - but, 'learning isn't earning'.

At some point you need to become a producer rather than a consumer.

Sure - some do it faster. Others take WAY longer. This is why 2.5 years is an average.

FOCUS - find someone successful and then do what they do. Copy them exactly (avoid copyright problems, of course!).

this is one of the hardest industries to have success in....giving up is the wrong attitude, if this is something you want then it should just make you try harder.

Normally, I would suggest that it is either..

    a. The offer on your squezze page was not compelling enough
    b. The solo ads you took out were not genuine
    c. The facebook advertising is targeting the wrong people

However... The important point above absolutely everything is why would people sign up to a mailing list about Acne? Seriously, why would they? It is not something that Acne sufferers are particularly interested in or want to study or receive regular newsletters about. Acne sufferers are looking for just one thing, and that is to get rid of their acne fast and move on..

Do you get my point? If you had written that your offer was about Lionel model trains or needlecraft (i.e. hobbies and interests) then I would say to look at my three points above as to clues why it is failing. I think it is simply you chose a market that is not open to signing up for mailing lists.

I would stay away from that niche.

    1. It's manipulated in the SERPS.

    2. The authority websites completely dominate.

    3. I have troubled skin i follow @acneskinsite on twitter, and if you go look at the website you will probably just call it quits. They don't even sell anything and the website is amazing.

    4. Type in some of the power-house keywords in Google:

    Best Acne Treatment
    Acne Remedies
    Best Acne
    Get Rid of Acne

These are just a couple, there is many long tail keywords u might be able to get.

They're are dominated even if u spent 1,000's you won't have a chance. The main reasons why i know is because i have acne problems and wanted to get into the niche and i did lots of research and know all the websites, so i decided to back off. This 1 website i was checking the history it was created about 3 months ago it shot to the top of almost every single high volume keyword in the niche.

You gotta like hack the algorithm or something i dunno, use some sort of custom bot. But this niche is crazy for SEO + you got that twitter i mentioned --- @acneskinsite #1 acne/skincare/beauty twitter in the world 600k++ followers and they don't even sell anything.

Maybe you can try creating websites and make money from Adsense and affiliate programs. As long as you write good content, the search engines will bring you organic traffic. I'm struggling to make money online but now I'm making at least $100 per month from Adsense. Not much, but it's a start. Don't listen to all those gurus telling you to buy this and that course. Use your common sense; write good content, then do some backlinking (no black hat and shady stuff), then you will soon make bank.

It seems that you set your goal too big as a beginner. If you already have three subscribers, you should celebrate!

I am also a beginner. I never buy any course with title “$XXXXXXXXXXXX”, because I don’t believe that “$XXXXXXXXXXXX” can come to me so easy and so early. I started with a small thing - one niche, one site, one strategy, and I made my first sell in three month. The method won’t make me rich, but it brings me confident!

I think you should lower your expectations. Make the first sell even though you earn very little. Very important. Once you make your first sell, you know/believe that IM can really make money and more important - you can make it! That doesn’t mean you will not be struggling, but you will not give up anymore no matter how hard it is, because you have experienced the success.

Lower your expectations ... be patient, organized and systematic.

It's not easy and making a living online is time consuming so make sure you spend your time wisely.

Also .. think for yourself, don't just swallow everything everybody says. Sometimes it's better to take a pen and paper and walk away from the computer to plan what you're going to build.

    Hope that can help

I would suggest looking at your site from a customer perspective, throw it out in a couple forums for a few different reviews, then look at where the money comes from - are you selling an ebook? Is it a good quality ebook? If you are just trying to make money via adsense then low amounts of traffic won't cut it - try different attempts to increase traffic and backlinks naturally.

Don't give up. You can never have your 1st sale if you do. You need to evaluate your ways think wisely and ask if you are hesitant on something.

Don't give up dude.. and also, you mentioned your niche being acne, that's a pretty general and extremely competitive market. If you haven't had any success with internet marketing, diving straight into a niche like that would be close to impossible.
