Do classified ads work?

Has anyone had any success online simply placing classified ads with affiliate links. That would be cool if it was possible.

Also to further my statement, if you do find an affiliate network that allows it or if you have your own product or business, there is much potential money to be had from Craigslist. I have personally made thousands from Craigslist, but however there are many hurdles you must overcome. The Craigslist ghosting is a pain in the ass and you also have to worry about your ads getting flagged from users or competitors. If you are willing to overcome the obstacles, there are great potential. I personally know many marketers who base their primary income on Craigslist, but honestly I'm not sure if it suitable in the long run as CL is constantly changing.

What if I told you that the owner of this ad is getting 3 to 5 customers daily through this ad alone?

Classified ads works well as I said locally. Of course classified ads is not a place for internet marketing especially if you are selling digital products...

Having personal experience in this, I must inform you of the pro's and cons. When it comes to classified websites, Craigslist is obviously king. Backpage comes in second, however it is MUCH, MUCH less effective and lesser known as Craigslist. For this reason, most of your focus should be put on CL.

Regarding the issue of affiliate links, they are not permitted on Craigslist as their ghosting feature would prohibit them. URL shorteners are also forbidden. The best option is to have your own websites and drive traffic to that.

You should also be aware of the rules that affiliate networks have regarding allows Craigslist traffic. From my experience, Craigslist is a NO NO for most affiliate networks, possibly getting your account suspended or banned. Before you do promote on Craigslist, be sure to make sure that your affiliate network allows such traffic.

I have tried usfreeads.com, but the response is not encouraging. I think, it is important to choose the websites that have the targetted audience of our products, In this way, the response rate will be much better.

For USfreeads.com now, you have to pay. They don't allow any more free ads.
They should call it USpaidads.com, shouldn't they? The title is a bit misleading.
    Just my 2 cents.

I have not had much success with them to tell you the truth. A lot of them have strict rules with affiliate links and your account can get banned right away. If you can follow Craigslist rules and get an add up there, you can get some serious traffic.

This doesn't work. The only classified ad site i recommend is Craigslist, and even that's BEST for selling physical products.

I used to have some success with affiliate products on Craigslist and Backpage, but like some others have said the rules are constantly changing on these sites to try and stop people from posting affiliate links in the jobs section. It's still possible though to get around the rules(at least for a short amount of time), but for me personally it just isn't worth the time these days.
