Yes I know this forum is filled with so much valuable stuffs, information and tips. What are some of the tips that helps you from jumping around from one method to another?

Even though I don't buy WSOs much, but I'm still managing to gain so many ideas from just browsing the forum.....

I'm not desperate, am not looking for quick get rich methods, but I'm looking for some 'working' methods that can be my backup income - it does not have to be quick, it may not make a lot of money, but it must WORK, so I can scale it up in the future when I'm familiar enough with it.

And so I have narrowed down the list of methods by approaching above conditions, though there are still a few that 'should' work out for me.

Is it just me, or it's normal when you want to multitask on different methods at a time? I know it not good to multitask trying to master everything at once, it's just not going to work.

Maybe I need a mentor who can have a discuss with me to filter out some of the un-needed methods?

It's hard, isn't it? It's easy to say you're going to focus... stick with one venture... but actually following through is another story.

Especially because it can be many months before seeing any success. This alone makes you want to jump ship.

What I would do is spend an afternoon with a pen and paper. Create a map from A to Z of what you are planning to do. Add much detail.

Not only what you will do, but deadlines too.

Hold yourself accountable and don't get started in a venture that you're not compatible with. As in, if you're not a great writer, don't become a content writer. Know what I mean?

Focus only on one thing and avoid reading too much new techniques and ideas. You'll end up overloaded with information without starting or finishing something.
Try this and see the result:

I don't wanna sound like an informercial but the mentor I am working with right now makes sure that I don't get distracted. She said the single most dangerous thing to internet marketers is looking at other people's offers while promoting your own. I did not believe her but I almost got burned... and she helped me to avoid it. I guess my point is, pick one method and stick with it =)

There are a lot of people who are in the same boat as you. The forecast on a number of things, however they end up newer following a single procedure and this leads them to earn almost no money.

So unless you stop diverting into to many areas and start focusing on one or two specific areas, there is a good chance that you may not end up doing whatever you had desired to do with the first place.

My suggestion will be to start focusing.

    yeah,
My suggestion is to stick in one side only. determine the way of earning that you love most and really have interest then start working with that. Don't leave it if you fail for several times. That's the best way to improve your productivity.

It's easy for me to focus because I only dabble in niches that excite me. If you build for the love of what you are doing it is so much easier to stay focused than if you just grab anything that will make you a buck here and there.

it can be hard because there are a lot of opportunities and possibilites to take. I know for me sometimes the temptation is to want to try and take advantage of all the opportunities, so I don't miss out. although I hardly buy WSO's.

I usually only come onto this forum once every 2 months, at first for information, and then I start getting involved in discussions and then I start reading post after post like tonight, lol. and then this all starts getting me imagining how much money I could possibly be making I start looking at WSO's.

But I have a trick up my sleeve, to interrupt this.

I keep a file on my computer that has only a few word documents in it. Those word docs are emails I was sent or a post that someone wrote on this forum, or a video that I watched from a certain internet marketer.

Basically what they do is take my focus out of the 'pie-in-the-sky-make-a-million-dollars-by-tomorrow' flash and hype, and refocuses my attention where it needs to be, and on what I need to be doing.

For example, I have this email from Marlon Sanders, and all he talks about in that email is the basics. You set up a site, you drive traffic to that site and offer up a freebie or low priced product to get people on your list, and then once they are on your list you promote your products to them, but at the same time you are sending them content in different formats, email, video, podcasts, etc that is useful information for them, helps you develop a relationship and helps convert them into buyers. Simple, Simple, Simple.

I don't know why but just reading Marlon Sanders emails pulls me ouf of that pie-in-the-sky attitude and helps me refocus my attention back on where it needs to be.

So my suggestion for you is find some emails that you were sent or artilces that you like, or posts on this forum, or it could even be a product that you bought, that would do the same thing for you.

Doesn't matter what it is as long as it helps you refocus your attention to where it needs to be.

Then save them into a specific folder and when you need to refocus then open up that file and watch those videos, or read those emails, or read those posts.

    Hope that helps.

Shane_K posted a really good gem! You really will learn a lot by studying other email marketing out there. I would also suggest going to ezinearticles.com or goarticles.com and do a search by your subject area of interest.

So if you want to sell a muscle building product, seach for "muscle building" or "burn fat" or "exercises" and so on. You will then see a wealth of articles revolving around these areas. A good percentage of them will actually have links to mailing-list squeeze pages in the article resource box area at the bottom.

Just sign up and learn...I definitely recommend not using your primary email for this approach!

Blogging is a good place to start for generating long-term, residual income. It's also something you can do around your own schedule, which is beneficial if you already have a full-time job and/or family you have to look after. Now's a good time to get in on it because there are going to be tons of opportunities to make money with the holidays and all that kind of stuff.

Focusing is all about doing the right things that produce income. It's all about the 80/20 rule. 20% of the things you do would be responsible for 80% of your income. If you are in business selling products your focus should be getting more people to your list, making them buy more often at bigger prices. That's where the profit is.

huge learning curve for one who had nv been involved with internet marketing and of cos the info overloading would knock us off the path.

I guess the issue is when you tried the method and it does not work immediately and you switch to the next one w/o trying to fix it or give your best to understand the method.

    my 2 cents~

Multitask will bring you no where, especially for beginner. So, once you identified your niche, your product, you should focus on it until you see result. Believe in yourself and have determination. I am sure you can see result one day.

I don't this it is bad to collect a lot of information. Read as much as you can, Find a easy way to apply your knowledge. Customize your plan..... You do not need to be follow 100% peoples instruction instead work on your own way that you think is right.

Wait for result...Update your plan again and eventually you will be able to earn a consistent profit. I am forcing you to learn and use your own method because no method is 100% accurate for all time... By the course of time a method can be valueless that is why I want you make modification so that you can update your method when needed.

    Hope this helps...

I've been a product creator before, been an affiliate marketer, tried CPA, authority blogs with keywords, tried outsource as a middle person, tried list building....

I know all of these work, but for some reason (maybe because I'm multitasking too much) that I don't find any of my projects get finished, or make any profit.

Can someone pick a method out of above and lead me into some deeper directions? I know I should've done list building way before I start doing anything.... but I have only recently started to build my list.

Any tips on this? How can I focus on this only? A list of to-do's would be great to allow me to follow in terms of right direction.

    Thanks

best way to stay focused is to choose 1 particular method and stick with it until your making money and seeing success

do not what ever you do, do anything else, stick to 1 thing and 1 thing only until you see results

what i do to keep myself focused is write everything down

i also have a whiteboard which i write down all of my tasks and what has to be done

writing things down like this i find i am way more productive

If you already start building list, what you need to do now is building more list. Find traffic from good solo ads, ads swap, system mailer, create blog and articles, etc. to your website or squeeze page. I believe doing all this will keep you busy. Stop looking for shiny object. You will lost focus. Only look for traffic resource able to help you to build more list. Stop learning and start doing.

I find that by writing down my goals and placing them in front of me in the office really helps.
I also have them on the wall of my bathroom so I can look at them every morning and evening before I go to bed.

I also write a to do list every night before I go to bed. I try to limit this to 5 things and focus on these without getting distracted.

Its very hard..write down what you want to do, then how you will get to your end goal that way you stay focused.

I would recommend you just pick one area and all your time and effort into it.

A mentor is an excellent idea because they will help you to acheive your goals faster and will help you when ever you get stuck, they will give you that 1 to 1 time.

What my question is way more specific than what you are all saying - from the methods I mentioned above, please choose one for me that works good for you!

And regards to list building, where can I find QUALITY stuffs to offer to my subscribers? Also, how can I get leads? (Either paid or free)
