Niche marketing alert - Top Xmas Toys 2012 - The Furby's back

Hey guys,
If your a niche marketer this is the right time of year when you should start thinking about Christmas. Or, if your looking for a niche to work on, you should consider Christmas toys as this is the ideal time of year to focus on this very lucrative niche - you will have a fair length of time to prepare and get some decent rankings and a good head start. This is especially true if you had a very good indication of which toys are going to be the UK best sellers this Christmas...

Well, I've just stumbled upon an article on the Argos corporate website that gives an idea of the toys you should be optimizing for this Christmas. Remember, Argos is the number one toy retailer in the UK so I'm pretty confident they know what they're talking about.

Here's The Argos Article >>

The toy that's predicted to be the number one bestseller on kids Christmas list this year is the Relaunched Furby. Back in 1998 when the original Furby was launched it was a massive global success, selling well over 40 million units. This time round the Furby is smarter as each one has their own personality. The Furby language is called Furbish and their even launching a mobile app that translates English to Furbish.

Argos predict the relaunch to be another sweeping success and they've created a waiting list for parents who want to reserve their children's Furby months in advance.

Here's the Argos Top Ten Toys predicted for Christmas 2012:
  1. Furby - (Argos price available from September 2012)
  2. Web Shooting Spider-Man - £34.99
  3. Lego Monster Fighters Ghost Train - £59.99
  4. LeapPad 2 - £89.99
  5. Batman 'The Dark Knight Rises' The Bat - £34.99
  6. Cinderella Doll - £29.99
  7. Star Doll Fallen Angel - £23.99
  8. Vtech Innotab 2 - £84.99
  9. Minnie Mouse Precious Pets Tour Van - £29.99
  10. Twister Dance - £26.99

Remember, if you want to promote any of these toys as an affiliate, as well as using Amazon associates, you might want to take a look at the Argos's own affiliate program. I don't think the commission is as high as Amazon but I'm guessing the conversion rate is.

Also, now is the time to snap up them keyword rich domain names too to promote/review/sell these toys for Christmas. I've just done a couple domain searches for you on the Furby keyword and you'll be amazed what's still available. Here's a few domains that are still available as of 12noon today (3rd Aug 2012)
  • FurbishApp.com
  • BuyNooLoo.com
  • FurbishTranslator.com
  • NooLooFurby.com
  • BestFurby.com
  • FurbyReview.com
  • TranslateFurbish.com
  • FurbyChristmas.com
  • ChristmasFurby.com
  • FurbyForChristmas.com
This really is a brilliant oppertunity to get a good head-start on the competition and be fully prepared for all the Christmas shoppers. I hope this helps you guys.

Really useful information here and just about everything a noob would need to set up a good niche site. In other news...

Not those dang Furbys again! I still have one of the originals and I remember using it as a cat and dog toy (ok, well, really more to annoy them). I couldn't stand the chatter and locked that thing away!

This is an interesting idea to look into. I'm surprised that they are bringing back the Furby dolls as I remember them being so crazy and popular a long time ago. Almost everyone I knew had at least one in the house.

The new furbys look so different from before especially with the new digital eyes.

Great heads up for Christmas! Never liked Furbies but they sell like hotcakes that time of year. What other items do you think will be hot this year?

    Great list!

I was recently at a department store and noticed posters of the furby available for pre-orders.

So now we know what everyone will be fighting for as Christmas gets closer.

The list I have in my Christmas package is different, as it draws on several sources, and is not limited to toys. However, it's good to see that there are a few items that Argos and I agree on.

Getting up and running sooner rather than later is the key to doing well this Christmas season.

    All the best,
    Michael

So glad to see Furby back! I would make use of Squidoo since it is ranking highly in the Big Google nowadays. Make one page and if it sells, make a page or lens module for each type of Furby. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas everyone!
