Limited PayPal, How Do You Do It?

So I was permanently limited on PayPal. I called and asked, they said because I was a 'risk' to the buyers etc. I was furious! The day before I had called and asked if this was going to be an issue because I sell virtual items, ex: eBooks. Anyways, long story short: I can't use PayPal anymore.

What I want to know is; Alot of you guys use PayPal to accept payments right? How do you avoid the charge backers and all that? How do you avoid being limited? And if you have been limited how did you bypass it?

Thanks.

I have never heard of such an issue unless there is a reason for it.....if you have a high number of refunds this can happen, or if you do not answer the disputes in a timely fashion...or lastly it might be the type of product you are selling but rare...

I have a 20 day limit, and I just have to put up with it. It's very annoying, because I don't sell anything except the odd personal thing on eBay with this account!

If you're getting a decent enough income, have you considered opening up a new paypal account and a new bank account? I understand it's probably a pain to go through having to create another bank account but it's probably worthwhile for all the fees that Paypal takes.

Have the people who buy from you click confirm receipt under actions in their paypal account after they pay.

This will release the hold of you funds immediately

I had a hold for about three months and had every customer do this.

It's inconvenient yes but it works

It's not that. I receive the funds immediately. I just have some customers that charge back. That's my issue.

I was informed that if I make a new PayPal they may find it or trace it. This true?

    Hey Xander,

Paypal once put my account into the limited status. What I had to do is, I had to scan my ID card and send it over to them. After a few days, my account went back to normal.

If you are using Paypal with your real data and they dont ask you to confirm bank account, identity, address etc. than you have a problem as they dont think you are trustable seller. That is probably because number of charge backs. Try to explain what exactly you are selling and that some customers was not satisfied with content, but that you was not scammed them.

Usually if you are a verified member with a business account without any complaints you won't get limited. When you call them they usually let you know why and if the limit can be removed. If all else fails you have different payment processors to choose from these days. Just do a Google search.

Thanks for the replies, the issue isn't my identity. According to PayPal I am a high risk seller.

    No offense.
    I never heard such problem.
I've been using paypal for all of my online businesses since 2004 and never encountered such problem. As long as you are using your paypal on some legit ways, I don't think problems like this will come-up... or else if you are selling useless products, refunds cannot be avoided...

I know paypal put only limit on unverified accounts... If your account is verified and paypal put some limit, then the problem is not with paypal but you.

I only sell eBay items and eBooks. I even spoke with an agent regarding this issue and he said it woulden't be a problem.

PayPal has the worst customer service.

...and I agree on this. That's why we need to be very very careful as we have no choice after all..

If there's any, we don't avoid them. We deal with them. Perhaps, you wanted to ask what can you do so buyers won't file charge backs. I will answer with respect to our content writing services. Simple. We deliver quality content, we remain responsive to our clients, we ask, we clarify.

There are always instructions that PayPal sends you on how to salvage your account from being on a limited status. The instructions may vary based on the gravity of the reason as to why one has been limited.

I am based in the UK, I verified my UK paypal account and have opened a US paypal account and verified.

You have two options here, if you regard yourself as a serious business owner. If I were you, I would incorporate a business LLC in the US, I would aim to do it in New Mexico NM because there are no taxes that one would need to pay. I would then get a real US business address and apply to a US bank to get approved. Paypal will verified your account. Trust me you should look in to this if you are serious about your online business.
