Before Wordpress... Where Do You Compose Your Articles?

hi everyone,

just wondering where folks are composing their articles, pages, posts pre-wordpress? meaning... where do you write your stuff before publishing to wp?

i know it can be done directly in wordpress too

wanting to get an idea of different flows for the process...

ms word... evernote...?

    If you're writing in something like MS Word and then pasting into Wordpress, you might want to copy/paste all your text in and out of "Notebook" first, just to strip out all the concealed formatting codes, which will otherwise potentially play havoc with the version you want to publish on your site. Word-processing software's output isn't really intended to go straight onto the internet. "Just saying".

    I don't use Word (nor indeed Wordpress), myself, for these things, but that might be partly because I'm just a contrary chick. I write my posts in "Works" and use TypePad for most of my blogs.

      Hey Nicole...I just use Microsoft Word...the spell check for me is a life saver. I type pretty fast and it picks up on typos...

      If you take text from Word to Wordpress...in the post menu you will see a little Icon with the Word symbol...paste your content into this box before dropping it into your Wordpress post...

      As Alexa mentioned Word adds some gook and this will strip it out and then post it in a Web friendly fashion...

        That's exactly what I do.

        Type everything out in Word then copy/paste into the insert box that WP makes available just for this purpose.

    I just use MS Word. Mainly because I often save my articles in specific document folders related to each website. And I just like the look of the article on the page. It's more readable.

    But then when I'm ready to post, and as the above post suggested too, I copy it out of the Word doc into a plain text editor first before pasting into it the Wordpress post.

    And for this, I just use "Notepad," which comes standard in Windows; and it seems to work fine for me.

    I tend to use notepad myself whenever im creating articles etc and then just copy and paste it into wordpress..

    I usually type my articles in microsoft word and then copy and paste it into wordpress and do my editing there.

    I either type directly into WordPress or occasionally use Notepad first and then copy & paste
