Yes...I use SEO YOAST plug in to help avoid this.

What happens is your post is published in category section, single post section, and sometime archive sections, possibly others but cant recall.

So one post is published on at least 3 different pages on your site.

Use SEO Yoast to add noindex and/or nofollow.

I don't think that will be a problem. I can't remember any client informing us having that as a problem.

You can use the Yoast SEO plugin to exclude robots from spidering categories, tags and archives. I'm not actually convinced through my own testing that duplicate content is an issue anyway, but if you are paranoid, exclude archives and authors in yoast.

Duplicate content in WordPress is a myth. Google is perfectly aware what WP is and which internal structure a typical WP site has. It knows that the same post content may appear on different URLs (main page, the post itself, archives, search results etc). So all those plugins that flag some WP sections as "noindex" are just wasting of your server resources.

Actually nobody knows for sure. I am of the opinion that google does not optimize for any sites specifically...In other words they don't care if it's WordPress or not, their algorithm treats it the same.

So yes, there is duplicate content on out-of the box wordpress sites. Whether that effects rankings or not is questionable.

Matt Cuttsis knows for sure and he did explain this already. BTW he also uses WP for his personal blog but he does not block categories/tags/archives and other "duplicated" categories from indexation. The only directory he blocks is "/files/" which has no relation to WP at all.

I have never had the problem..

Use copyscape to find the duplicates...

Another question I had forgotten, I was thinking in the idea of creating a page for puting all the reviews, I know the category goes great for this, but I was thinking in also add a page with the review name and list there all my products reviews with pictures so if a visitor clicks the review botton at the nav, would go to this page, now the questions:

1- Is it good or bad idea?

2- Most people agreed above in no worry about possible duplicate content with category, archive, etc, but in this case of a page to show the reviews? the solution would be add no index or something like this? because a page with pure links no way
