How to promote my Wordpress plugin

INTERNET MARKETING

few years ago I had some spare time on my hands and I have written Wordpress plugin Watermark RELOADED. Now I have taken things one step further and written successor called Watermark RELOADED Pro, witch has many more advanced features for watermarking images.

I have tried to promote the Pro version with AdWords, etc. but no success. So I think I have to promote the plugin to group of Wordpress users/administrators or photographers with photoblog.

So long story short, how to promote my Wordpress plugin cost effective to get some much desired results?

Here is something I want to tell you...

1. Create your free version ( probably you already have the free version )
2. Upload the free version on WordPress org.
3. There should be somthing within your free version so that people understand that you have a pro version.
4. You have to ensute that people can buy or upgrade the pro vestion directly from WordPress admin area.

Write a good documentation area for free vestion and can add the extra features that people can get from their paid upgrade.

Check into forums that deal with photography and graphics ... someone is probably looking for your plugin...

Also check photography groups in LinkedIn or other social network.

As suggested you could make this a WSO you could limit it's availability and then rell via clickbank at a higher price. You could then sell resle rights

@Kragsig: maybe I will try WSO, do you have any experiances with how much sales will it generate on average?

@wordpressmania: already done all of the things that you suggested

@vgvetter: will try to find some photographers forums and groups

@rob corrigan: limited availability is not an option, because I want huge customer base to whitch I can than also sell other plugins and products.

1. Do JV's with some good players already selling themes & plugins.
2. Release your product as WSO/Clickbank and create as many sales channels as possible.
3. Increase the price of your product and pay good commissions to affiliates.
4. Ask fellow bloggers in WordPress Niche who review plugins to write about your plugin, give them free review copy if required.
5. Just push your product in as many places as you can.
6. Create a professional website to sell your Premium Plugin, your existing website looks more like a simple blog to me.
7. Show people your plugins demo, create a small video explaining how your plugin works and upload it to Youtube/Vimeo and embed to your website. People love to see premium plugin in action before buying it.
