I got 7k. Should i take the money and run?

You should take a bit (10%) of your "chillin'" money and invest it in more Internet marketing knowledge, tools, and technology. You could take another 10% of it and learn how to invest in penny stocks.

In other words, put some of your money to work for you. That's what every wealthy person does. Why give up on Internet marketing if you are only 23 and you're already making money at it?

I guess the question for me is, what do you want to look back at in 10 years and say I did that and be happy with it? Is a regular 9-5 job going to make you feel any better looking back than working online? Is there something else that you really want to do?

Making a living online is not for everyone, as every job is not for everyone. Only you can now what you want. I know for me, I would be scaling up that $1000 unless I really found a job I was called to do.

If you can't live on the $1k a month you're earning, can you get a part-time job, one or two days a week, so that you still have lots of time for Internet marketing? That's how I started, back in 1996.

If you're desperate for money, you're much more to likely to make bad decisions, seeking quick cash, instead of building the foundations of a strong business - something that adds genuine value to the Internet. That type of business has a better chance of long-term success. I hope you're thinking in terms of building a business, not just making money.

It would be helpful to forum members if you gave us a little information about the methods you're using to make the $1k a month (without giving away any secrets). Otherwise, we may waste time telling you things you already know.

For example:

Are you building email lists, which give you repeated opportunities to make a sale, instead of one chance of a sale - a chance that disappears in a few seconds? Also, email lists are valuable assets you can sell one day if you wish.

Is whatever you're doing just making money or building a business that you could sell if you wished?

Are you promoting products that pay residual income or lifetime commissions, so that you get paid over and over?

Is your business risky? Are you relying solely on just one method, one affiliate program, one web host, one affiliate network, one search engine, one source of traffic, one product, one industry, one anything else? Do you need to diversify?

Could you outsource any of your tasks to save time and allow you to concentrate on the things you enjoy and do best?

Why are you considering quitting? Is it because you don't enjoy what you do? If so, re-examine your business and look at ways to re-design it so that you spend more time doings you enjoy and much less time on the rest. Or do you need to totally change what you're doing so that you enjoy it?

Are you building a reputation, or a brand that people remember. Don't under-estimate how important this is. People like buying from people they know, like and trust (thanks Paul Myers for that tip). It's wonderfully valuable if people remember you, and remember your website and type the domain name into search engines. My strong recommendation: Start building a reputation now. (I haven't done much of that on this forum, but I have elsewhere on the Internet.)

Have you examined your strengths and interests so that you're making the most of them? For example, many forms of Internet marketing involve writing articles and some people love that, and some people hate it. What can you create that you would enjoy creating?

23. You don't know how lucky you are. I'm 63 and ever so grateful I had the sense to build up my own self-managed superannuation fund when the money was rolling in a decade or so ago, so I can just potter around now if I wish - and waste time giving advice to people who don't take it.

If you do expand your business and get it running nicely, save one-third of your income for the future.

Make your own decisions. Choose your own life. Whatever decisions you make, be sure to do it because it's what YOU want out of life, not someone else's idea of what would be a good thing to do. Go for it!
