Wordpress themes

INTERNET MARKETING

I am starting to build my first site using wordpress. However, on the Wordpress site there appear to be 198 themes available. But, on my GoDaddy hosting dashboard with Wordpress, there appear to be 755 themes. On Wordpress.com some of the themes there are not available in my dashboard. Am I missing something?

Are you building a self-hoste WP? If yes, there are much more themes than you can swallow, and you can install all them from your WP dashboard/themes.

I would suggest, however, that you use the simplest ones. Why? Look, now you are wondering about themes, and someone who started at the same moment is getting their site up and running and a few posts deep already.

Dont't waste your time on secondary details, because even the most glamorous theme will never make up for poor content.

  They are two different things. I use godaddy, also, for my "self-hosted" WordPress sites. There are way more themes available at godaddy, as you saw, then there are at Wordpress.com. That's because self-hosted Wordpress sites (such as one on godaddy or hostgator or any other host) have way more functionality than Wordpress.com-built sites - so more themes are available to take advantage of the increased functionality.
  
  But once you've set up WordPress on godaddy, why worry about it? Use one of the 755 themes, or upload other themes you find that you want to use! (You can't do upload themes to WordPress.com - another advantage of hosting your site on godaddy or some other host.)
